one thing i noticed is that when i create a new character the game asks me if i want to load the UI settings from another character I already have... what i would like to know if its possible to do this for a character that already exists in other words, I have changed settings (by settings i mean window placement and opacity values etc) that my main has, and would like to import them over to one of my alts that alraedy exists-- can i do this?

Yes. You can bring that window up on any character at any time with /load_uisettings
