Auto-attack window question
I don't play many melee characters, so just wanted to learn to actually use this window. Do you have to wait until it 'fills' or do you have to hit a CA before it fills?
My melee toons are still very low level and I don't know if this will even make a difference, but it's always good to know in case I get them to higher levels. Thanks! |
you dont "have" to do anything... its merely a convienance tool. You can just CA away if you like, or, when the bar is full, stop ca'ing and wait for a swing. Its merely there to help you optimize your attacks do you dont miss an auto attack.
So, what you might want to try is start with an auto attack, while the bar is recharging, cast a CA or 2 (it really depends on your cast time). When the bar gets close to full, stop ca's. then, when its full, an auto attack should happen. Then its all wash rinse repeat after that.... |
Yeah, when the bar(s) are full is when your auto-attack will fire off.
So what you want to try and do is time your combat arts and spells so that they are not in the middle of casting when the bar fills up or else your auto-attack will be delayed until it's done. So basically what you are doing is using your abilities while the bar is filling up, it'll feel a little wonky at first, and your dps will probably go down some while you are adjusting your timing, but once you do have it down so that your abilities aren't delaying your auto-attacks you will see a sizable increase in your DPS :nana: |
