Java update problem with Profit Reborn Updater
 

I was prompted to install an update for Java and it seems to have removed my ability to sign into the Profit updater. With GU 51 coming sometime soon this concerns me as my limited expertise has left me stumped. All I know is my desktop Profit updater icon was either removed or became this unknown icon titled index.php.

I don't see how it can become index.php
It is however possible that a java update removed the cached ProfitUI Updater. To reinstall it (or to get the icons back) just go to http://updater.pala.de

Doing the update from the web site did not restore the icons, nor did the updater program as downloaded from this site. I'm going to leave the updater on my desktop, I don't need a fancy icon, as long as it works.

The updater does not create an icon on your desktop, it creates an icon in your start menu in the folder ProfitUI Reborn Downloader. If that got lost you can go to your start menu, select Run and type

javaws -viewer

to show a list of all installed Java WebStart applications. Select the Updater and click the third icon to recreate the link. You can then move/copy the link to your desktop.
