Slightly less stripped down Community window?

http://www.eq2interface.com/download...fo.php?id=3350

Insomniac Im loveing your Friendslist Moniter, but i can search for groups with it.... Can anyone possibly recreate that window as a brand new UI piece instead of stripping a usefull window down?

I posted a similar question in another forum

I wanted to know the same, but to see if you could make the minimini friend monitor toggle-able to a bigger window if needed.

My post from other forum

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this post but I had a question about Insomniac's Friend Monitor window. I installed it and the entire community function, including find players, is replaced by the friend monitor (which i love). Any way to switch from the friend monitor window to a find players window?

To make it so you can toggle between his stripped down friends window and the default community window, he (or someone else) would need to implement a button or option involving the Frame and Border settings of the window to show/hide the related window pieces. You can't simply use another/custom window because it'd lack the hard-coded functionality that the community window has (that's necessary to show friend information).

That makes sense

(I think... ) All it would have to do is make use of the original window's tabbed buttons that switch from friends to find and back. No?

Oh... that'd probably work even easier. *slaps forehead* I was overthinking it. Yell at Insomniac (in a happy, friendly way) to readd some functionality; OnShow and OnHide messages for the various tab pages would handle making stuff invisible/visible and resizing things. See if he'll give it a shot. I'd volunteer, but I typically only work with stuff I plan to use personally.

Getting insom's attention :-D

I tried sending a discrete message earlier but the site said he isn't accepting incoming messages.

Well he is a major poster, so I'd suggest just hoping he finds this thread or try and leave him a polite (both polite to him and to the forums) post somewhere obvious. See if he has any threads relating to his mods.

Well its nice to see that im not the only one who is in this situation, but don't you all think that it owuld be annoying to have the Friend moniter moved around so much? I have mine docked at the bottom right of my screen, and i never move it, if someone impliments a button it qould require me to unlock it and omve it for grouping right?

insomniac 02-01-2005 02:03 PM

pfft.. like i didnt read this several times. =P
i'm... thinking about this..
it would be messy, having the window resize. depending on where you put it, it could mostly shoot offscreen when you go from monitor to normal window, plus if yours is big, you'll have to resize it when you go back to monitor mode (i would have to specify a size). i'll look at it, but right now i'm playing with the new ui stuff.

and when did it say i wasnt accepting messages?! you mean pms? i got one yesterday...

I have a lil community window in the works. I was working on it before, but then they implemented the notes thing... soo.... working on that currently.
