New gamedata Flurry

Okay, I have never heard of Flurry and after several google searches I have been unable to find out what this stat is. So does anyone know. I'm updating my Persona window and I don't know where to put the new gamedata Flurry. Is it a melee stat or does it have something to do with ranged combat, or is it some sort of casting effect? A little insight would be nice. Thanks.

Heh, been there, done that, nobody knew. However, the tooltip tells you that it's the chance for multiple hits per auto-attack, so I sorted it with the other attack stats.

Thanks for the quick response.

If you ever played EQ you'll know what flurry is :P Basically what gm9 said.

I've always related it to seeing to kids fight and the one getting beat up all the sudden gets super mad and just goes all out wild for a sec or two in an attempt to get on top. That kid did a flurry of attacks on his aggressor.

I think Flurry is currently only used with an Assassin AA line. Its something similar to AE Auto Attack but does multiple attacks to a single target instead of multiple targets.

Like double attack on steroids ;) (but can be more than 2 hits)

They also gave it to clerics as a proc'able temporary buff which gives a chance to flurry for a certain amount of time. Originally it only existed with the Assassin epic weapon. If they've been given AAs for it as well, it would not be surprising. Probably others also have it with TSO.

You can see an example of it here:
(1226971943)[Mon Nov 17 20:32:23 2008] Matonn hits a frenzied racnor for 915 piercing damage.
(1226971943)[Mon Nov 17 20:32:23 2008] Matonn's Soothing Mind refreshes Matonn for 68 mana points.
(1226971943)[Mon Nov 17 20:32:23 2008] Matonn critically flurries a frenzied racnor for 4295 piercing damage.
(1226971943)[Mon Nov 17 20:32:23 2008] Matonn critically flurries a frenzied racnor for 5294 piercing damage.
(1226971943)[Mon Nov 17 20:32:23 2008] Matonn tries to pierce a frenzied racnor, but their flurry misses.
(1226971943)[Mon Nov 17 20:32:23 2008] Matonn double attacks a frenzied racnor for 2874 piercing damage.
(1226971943)[Mon Nov 17 20:32:23 2008] Matonn critically hits a frenzied racnor for 3501 piercing damage.

Here it is three additional hits off of the first melee strike. Oddly enough Matonn also gets a double attack off that first melee attack and then follows up with an attack from the other hand, I imagine. You may seemingly get two to four additional attacks from flurry and missing a flurry will not affect the others. I have not heard of anything suggesting it can be used with ranged attacks.

While double attack has a counterpart in casting spells, I don't believe that flurry does. Not that double spell attack seems to have a DD.

Just curious but is Flurry something new for EQ2? And if it is then why, oh why, have they not added the gamedata for "Riposte". My understanding is riposte is an ability for a lot of different classes. Well melee classes any way.

And how about Home City. I'm mean come on there are five main cities and the exile's city.

And while I'm on a rant, has anyone at SOE looked at the gamedata request thread? As far as I can tell, nothing from that list has been added. Mean while there was what, 25 new items in the gamedata file with this latest update?

Oh, don't mind me. I just had a frustrating day trying to play the 14 day trial to Vanguard. Now there is a game with some problems.

Add some more in the latest wishlist thread. We are already getting the pet stuff.
