Chat

I have one character that has always been different from the others with this UI. Two major areas were chat and the compass. The chat window for all my other characters were a series of tabbed chats for the various types of chat. THis character only had Main Chat and Combat, which was okay unitll this update, not I cannot chat at all. When I enter a slash command, all I see is a temporary flashing balloom in the corner of chat. While I don't relish doing my hotbars oveer again, is their a way to make this character's UI the same as the others"

you should
  1. always read the ProfitUI release notes
  2. open the control center and press the Load UIsettings button to load the settings from an alt

I have had the same problem. I keep redoing the settings (I start from scratch, deleting the .ini file), but in a few days one or both of my chat windows loses the typing line. Is this an SoE bug?

One thing I've been noticing is that the game keeps intermittently losing window information (mainly location and size) for newly-opened windows. Quest journal, persona window, browser, anything I open can occasionally just revert to the default size and position. I'm assuming it could also revert to defaults on other settings, but I normally don't change anything else on the windows affected. Is it possible the same "no more slots to save UI settings to" glitch that affected bags and boxes is affecting other windows, so when you open a window that didn't have saved settings before it pushes another window's settings out of the saved set?

Might be related, never experienced that. The strange thing is that a Frame setting of "None" is the default if you have no uisettings.ini at all, that's why I originally set the window up like that. So if the settings reset I would expect them to default to "None". Very strange if it doesn't.

But yes, it's an SOE bug for sure.
