i am STUCK in south qeynos right now (every zone out is broken) so i figured i'd show you guys some cool screenshots. All shots are on graphics settings that run smoothly on a 3.2ghz P4, 1 gig of ram, and a Geforce 3 ti 500 :o (saving up for a 6800).

even tho its on the highest setting, EQ2's jpg pics look washed out compaired to the actual game. there's a setting for .tga files (which look great) but those are like 2 megs and i think dolby would get mad at me :)

Pic3: FLYING CARPET MOUNT /drooooooool . All prices are for beta testing, attainable, but still a lot of cash. the economy deals in silver right now. and no, i havent seen anyone riding a mount yet.

Pic4: Babbleshire(sp?) even tho i had already walked through the zone. at one point i stepped out of the bar and saw this. my jaw dropped. again *not* max settings, this is like "high performance".

Pic5: (edited for readablility) Scott "Gallenite" Hartsman (Technical Director, EQ2) my run-in with a celebrity. Scott is the man. :cool: that test version on antonica BTW, kicked ass, i don't know where it went after the test.

Pic6: Yours truely rocking a moat rat's world. :D

Pics7&8: the awe-inspiring mage tower. i had to shrink the pics to upload them, but i hope it gives you an idea of how freakin big this thing is. It's a skyscraper.

k i'll stop now. i gotta get past lvl 11 =P

how do you get it to save them as TGA.. i can not find the setting anywhere!

EDIT: Found it.. they added it to the UI controls... odd place..

BTW camping to desktop and back in usually fixes the zoning issue.. (did for me last night)

i assume you are talking about the "Infravision" screenshot.. it is HEAT vision. you see body heat etc. nothing else.

If you turn the quality to 100% on the JPGS it wont pixelate the crap out of them.

just a small FYI..

yeah but if you compare them to the game they look washed out, on my system at least. if you're talking about my pics, they look like crap cause i had to fit them under the 300k upload limit.

Thank you for sharing those with us!! They honestly answered alot of my questions. FINALLY a quest gump I can actually understand and not get confused with. The other one used to confuse me so much- I dunno why it did but it did. Also I love the quest countdown up in the corner showing how much you have achieved during the quest. The crafting looks alot less intimidating as well!!
Oh how did it feel to ride a griffin?? How did you aquire one also? Was it a quest item or something you could buy?

Hi,
You don't actually "acquire" one, you just go to a tower outside the city and there he is, a pop-up window comes up asking you where u want to go, you choose your destination and b4 you know it, your on the griff checkin out the scenery. You don't control it or pay for it.

Does anyone know if they have any spooky areas, like Unrest or Mistmoore from the original EQ?

yes they do. But I'm forgetting names off the top of my head. So thats not much help. I have witnessed quit a few screenshots that I considered to be "spooky". i.e. swamps, dark dungeons, lots of skellys, evil statues... that kinda stuff.

Any new pet pictures?

I would like to see some pet pictures as well for those that happen to nab a few. Thanks in advance!

Wow, thanks for posting these! Everything is looking better than I expected. I am so excited I can hardly wait for release. Been adding in my bedtime prayers for the release date not to be delayed, LOL!

it will be delayed... but probably only by a month or two.

The pictures in my journal are 1024x768 with 85% and I think they look good and they are well under 300k.
