EQ2 MAP not working Vista 64
 

Looking for any ideas or solutions to help with running EQ2 Map auto-updater. I have tried clean installations several times and get the same result everytime. It comes up and says EQ2MAP Updater has stopped working. It doesn't give any other description other than that. I tried taking UAC off and that doesnt work. I updated Java and still no luck. I did notice that I only have .NET 1.1, but when I tried to update to 2.0 it said that 2.0 does not work with Vista 64 bit. Just wondering if anyone had a similar problem and has a solution for it before I attempt to reinstall Windows. Thanks in advace for any and all help with this.

I run Vista 64 Ult.. I've never had an issue with the map program

get .net 2.0 for x64.. that's what I had to do

I tried to update to .net 2.0 but it said it does not work with 64 bit...will try again a i guess.

Download the x64 version. ;)

.net 2.0 x64 doesnt say windows vista in the requirements section...can i still use this for vista? only says xp.

Ok. After recovering the system and starting from scratch, eq2 map is working and downloaded all the files! However now when i launch the auto updater it says no new files and when it is launching eq2 it comes up with a file error-Failed to save to config file: access to the path 'C:\program files(x86)\eq2map updater\eq2map_config.cfg' is denied. Any ideas as to how to fix this? Or why is it saying that?

Just an FYI for anyone who may be having a similiar problem...all I did is went into the folder and found the file that was having the error and updated the security on it. had to click on each user and make sure all the boxes were checked off. Works like a champ now!
