Scrolling Combat Text
I haven't been able to find one. If there is one let me know. But a mod that gives you control of the text that shows your damage and the damage being done to you would be nice.
|
what are you wanting to control about it?
|
Hmm, that's not a particularly bad idea. Assuming you're talking about the numbers that appear over your head and not something in a chat window.
There are a lot of commands to change how they work, but only a few of them appear in EQ2's options panel. So I guess a mod with buttons flipping through the options would be useful. Of course all of the commands are undocumented, so whoever makes the mod would have to figure out what the commands do first. =P |

Wow...just......wow

Wow? I guess I missed something.
Anyhow, the problem with messing around with those commands to change the combat bubbles, as I remember, is that you have no idea what the default value is. Unless you remember exactly how it acted before you started playing with it and find the value. I would have to be pretty bored one day to figure out all of the commands to that degree, and usually I'm only that bored at work... not while playing EQ2. :p |
Pay dragowulf no attention he was smoken his peace pipe. :D

Usually you can read out the current value of these commands via XML script and store it somewhere, e.g. my sound and video settings windows are initialized upon startup with the current sound and video settings. I don't know whether combat bubble commands behave differently, therefore just mentioning it.

Oh, Aditu that was meant for Landiin. I had to say something obnoxious since I haven't been on for a while. SCT (Scrolling Combat Text) was a popular mod in WoW and WSCT in WAR. Great mod, but i wouldn't find it possible to do with the current API that has been released. |
Hmm, not having played WoW... what did it do?
|
I think it created what we have here in EQ2 if I'm not mistaken, but it was configurable in several ways like direction/speed/color I think.
