Black space on sides?
 

I know you can use the Widescreen function to put black bars at the top and bottom of the screen, but is there a way to do the same thing for the left and right sides instead?

Is there an xml file that could be edited to specify how much of the left (or right) sides would draw black instead of the game view?

Unfortunately, there is nothing currently available to do this. There was a function in EQ1, known as the /viewport command, that allowed for you to do this. It allowed you to specify the height and width of the 3D world (the viewport, as it is known) and also the x,y coordinate to start rendering it. This allowed for a black border with independent widths for every edge, and also allow the center of the 3D world to be off center from the center of your screen, something that I, personally, would really like to be able to do.

Unfortunately, this function has been requested since the game was first released and we still have not seen it. That doesn't stop me from leaving /feedback for it every once in a while. If you'd like to see this feature put in, do the same.
