Help: Updating problems.

Hello everyone,

First of all let me tell you what i did just before this problem.

The new ProfitUI updater came out and I was having problems getting it
to work so after a few things i deleted its folder in my ui directory. That is
when the problems with eq2map auto updater started.

When i ran the eq2map updater it will start to update and download files.
Problem is that it hangs when checking certin files and will freeze for about
a minute. then i get this error message.

File IO Error:
map_befallen_0.dds
The Process cannot access the file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony
\Everquest II\UI\Eq2map\images\maps\map-befallen_0.dds'
because it is being used by another process.

I will get this error with alot of the files but not all of them. and it
It actualy looks as if it is trying to check the files and update them
at the same time.

I have tried to uninstall and reinstall. i checked a couple forum posts
about simular problems and they say its your internet speed and i
asure you i have a fast connection.

I dont know what else to do U_U PLEASE HELP! i'm lost without eq2map

Problem solved

i did a general re update of eq2 like often suggested in the eq2 forums where you delete the cashe and some ini files and then re updated profitui and then eq2map updated perfectly. i don't know what did it or what caused it but YAY!

On my xp machine, I had to delete the eq2maps folder, patch, reinstall eq2maps.
On my Vista machine, I had to delete the ENTIRE ui folder and every ini file as suggested from the main folder, patch, and reinstall profit and eq2maps. Not the first time, probably won't be the last. Vista :p

I am quite sure that's not vista specific ;)
