error on new updater
 

I had to manually down load the updater and followed the directions..I saw it update all kinds of epic stuff. I then closed it and when I attempt to restart it I get a screen that says java starting then a pop up that says SPLASH: recv failed.

How do I fix this? I also noticed the icon on my desk top did not update..I hit properties and it said it was created 7/10/08 motified march 13,2008 and last ran 7/10/08. I went into my programs and found the shortcut icon and I ran it 3 times 1 time it updated the other 2 I got the above error

There's a known bug with Panda Antivirus. If you use that, make sure it does not block Java, e.g. by putting your Java directory as exception in "Panda Process Protection Service".
