Problems with install??

Ok well another newby with beginner problems with EQ2maps. installed auto updater but heavent gotten it to work yet. Not sure if the files went to the right place or not. I have searched web site for similar problems and found a few but none had answers to problems. When I open file Sony-->EQII--> I see 2 files under folder one UI and the other EQ2.ini file--> when I open UI file I see EQ2map folder and nothing else.--> then I can open EQ2map folder with more files and folders there. EQ open doesnt work in auto updater and also doesnt auto launch game after update. It comes up with failed error. I also made sure I have Microsoft .net framework 2.0. Still no joy. Tried uninstalling a few times and redoing everything but still no joy. Also tried moving files to different folders but that didnt help. Probably because I dont know where else to try them. Thats pretty much everything I have tried and just cant figure it out. What am I doing wrong or where else can I look? Bought this game overseas while in the military if that makes a difference. Not sure. Also ran a search for multiple EverquestII.exe files and only found one. Have run out of places to look. Please help. :confused:Thank you.

You can install the program to its default location, there is no need to change anyting.

As you have a EQ2MAP folder in your UI folder everyting seems to be right.
But if you have bought a non english copy make sure the language setting is right in Options window or it will be installed to the wrong language folder.

I came to think of your comment

These are the EQ2MAP files installed, but there are no game files, the should be 15-20 more files.
Search for Everquest2.exe and make sure the path in options is the same.

HIP HIP HORAYY!! Well just that easy and you helped another lost soul. After reading your reply about thats not enough files there should be more there, I ran another search for Everquest2.exe and found the same files as before. However, looking at th files a little closer showed the files to be in H:sony--> not the C:sony like I had originally thought. so after relocating the files to the correct section of the HD, WALLAA. It now works like it should. Let this be a lesson to anyone having trouble with installation. Read all you can on this web site and if you still cant figure it out, ask qustions and put everything you know on here. Someone will have the answer. Attention to Detail is the key to happyness. Thank you for your help Jnils :nana:
