UI does not save

Hi,

I have saved my UI several times. I made a copy of a file that I thought was my settings file. I'm guessing it wasn't the right file.

A clear tutorial would be awesome on saving a ui, loading the same ui you just saved as wqell as backing up those files incase of a pc rebuild or crash.

I looged in this morning and my ui was borked. I tried the /load_uisettings and that did not work at all.

I do however have a copy of the UI folder from the EQ2 root folder that has the correct ui.

What are the files I should be looking for to copy over to get my UI back?

Thanks in advance.

You lost me at "save my UI". What exactly where you trying to do? Installation and other FAQ are linked in my sig though.

let me clarify. i loaded profit ui, moved my windows around and had everything set.

i used the /save_uisettings thinking that this would save those settings. Am i mistaken?

this morning i logged in and everything was askewed and profit looked like it was not there. i restarted and profit was back but the windows were in their 1st installation locations. so i tried the /load_uisettings but it did not work.

i have a backup of the ui folder from a week ago.

are there files in there that i could use to restore the ui that i setup?

Remember that UI settings are per-character, not per-account. Once you set your windows on one character, you'll need to use /load_uisettings on the other characters to pick them up.

Warning: channel subscriptions are part of the the uisettings information, so it'll try to copy those across too including class-, race-, alignment- and level-restricted channels. The only way to avoid problems here is to not be subscribed to any channels on the character you'll be copying from.

In case you were using /loadui that's to be expected.

Otherwise I'm not sure how ProfitUI could just not be there unless you edited other files and made a mistake doing that.

Your uisettings are stored in .ini files in your Everquest II\ folder.

Another thought...

How did you exit EQ2 after moving the files? If the game crashed or you killed the process to exit then it may not have saved propperly (not sure if /save_uisettings works)

Try this..

A) log into ToonA and adjust the bags/whatever where you want them.
B) type in /camp (this will take you to the char select screen)
C) log in ToonB
D) type in /load_uisettings
E) Select ToonA from the list

Did the bags/whatever load like you set them?
