Profit wont loadup on startup

Ok, whenever I log into EQ2, it defaults to the default UI and I have to /loadUI to get onto Profit.

Ive followed all the loading isnstructions to the letter.. my eq2.ini reads:

cl_ui_skinname ProfitUI
cl_ui_subdir UI/

Please tell me what Im doing wrong.. spent hours looking for the solution in the FAQs and Install instructions.

Thanks

Is the directory where you installed it called ProfitUI?

It has to be the same as it is in your eq2.ini

Double check that :)

eq2.ini.txt eq2.ini

I've been seeing this a lot. I've searched and been unable to easily find the answer. So I've decided to post a handy little pictorial with what I think the issue is.

Depending on your setup you might accidentally be adding .txt when saving eq2.ini .. so you'd end up with eq2.ini.txt and not realize it.

Try this.
In your Everquest II directory, click on Tools >> Folder Options ...

Click on the View tab.
Make sure there's no checkmark next to Hide extensions for known file types (as per below).
Then click OK

Now, if your eq2.ini file is actually called eq2.ini.txt FIX IT!

This might not be your issue, but check.

Or: do not edit any files, do not rename any directories - just follow installation instructions and you're all good. ;)

Figured it.. needed to have EQ2maps and Profit in the same folder.. I had the EQ2maps in a sub folder, which seems to have caused the problem.

Thanks for the help all :)

I noticed that if you edit the eq2ui_custom wrong it will $&$%^$@ your ProfitUI up. I accidentally did that and was trippin out.
