UIBuilder Loading Errors
Not sure if this is the right place for it, but I just started getting errors loading the default interface into UIBuilder, it won't load anything after the guild window. Tried doing a full re-download and re-unzipping the program, nothing worked until I made eq2ui_mainhud_guild.xml contain only the lines:
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> |
Are you opening eq2ui.xml with uibuilder, and not something else?
And UI builder I (think) may check that all files <include>'d via the eq2ui.xml root are there and if it doesn't find one may throw an error and stop. At least that sounds like a reason it'd do that. Try deleting the include line for that file in eq2ui_mainhud.xml and deleting that file and see if it still does it. |
I'm loading eq2ui.xml, and the include line is the default one. It just seems to be choking on something inside SOE's guild window XML. I even tried re-downloading the default and UIBuilder.
I just expanded the guild window inside the default though, and found something interesting. It's like there's a line of code telling it to end loading the mainhud parent mid-file, and continuing on with the rest: Pic And here are the contents of a fresh ui.log after loading the above: Code:
Couldn't load .xml |
A new version of the uibuilder was pushed to your client. Try clearing out the old one before unzipping the new one and try again.
I had the same trouble. |
I'm not seeing anything glaringly wrong in that image you linked, except perhaps that the one I'm looking at differs with the first difference being mine has no "Custom" page and differs after that. From what I'm seeing, your version of the guild file or uibuilder is not doing the last 3 subpages in guild and instead its burping and then continuing to load EVERYTHING else like its part of the guild page (which its not). Custom, ProxyActor, etc., are all what should come after MainHUD in the top-level.
I think you're using the old version of UIBuilder. On that line you gave is "
" -- two characters that the old UIBuilder choked on, as I recall. Delete your old uibuilder and unzip the new one fresh and you should not have this issue. |
Ah, thank you pooka-- I wasn't aware there was one the patcher downloaded, and was using the version off this site. Works fine now :)

Good point. I'll try to remember to update the download on this site once I'm back.
