some messages not hitting chat windows
 

So, since I installed profit about a month and a half ago, I've been fighting with an issue that's been driving me nuts, maybe someone can provide some insight into what's going on.

Oh, by the way, I love the UI, makes raiding so much easier...

There seems to be a lack of some messages that you get from the default UI missing from the chat windows in profit.

For example, when you pull the bells in Stormhold for the Scions, usually a message hits one of your chat windows saying "nothing happens" or something similar. I get nothing now. Happens on a lot of interactable objects.

Another thing that's happening, I get no message of why I can't invite someone to a group or raid. I will get the "you invite so and so to your group" but only if the request is successful. If there is a reason they can't take the invite I get no message at all and have to guess why I can't invite them. I'm not getting "you are not the group leader", not getting "so and so is already in a group", not getting "so and so has invites disabled" and such.

I've tried removing all the chat window tabs, tried sending every single chat option to 1 tab to try to get the messages and no luck. I've even tried deleting the chat window xml file from the UI directory and can't get it to work.

Any ideas of what I need to do to get all those messages working again? :)

The UI does not control what information is shown in chat, this is configured by you. If you are sure that you have enabled all chat information and that you are missing something, then your uisettings.ini file might be corrupt and you will have to delete it (this resets your entire interface, but maybe you have the file of an alt without that problem).

Hmm, ok, I'll give that a try.

I do know it was working correctly the day before I installed the UI, but who knows what happened :P

If you used the default UI settings they create a number of tabs for you. I won't exclude that I forgot to add one chat type that appears nowhere. /shrug

Ah, yeah I used the preset UI things that came with it, then moved stuff around...I'll just reset it and play with it a bit to get it back to how I set it up...

I actually figured out what those odd messages were under without having to redo the setup for my UI.

Chat > Near by > Narrative

That gets all the messages like "you invite so and so to group", or "so and so isn't accepting invites" etc.
