Chat Tabs (and Chat Channels in those tabs)

I finally got around to setting up different tabs for different chat channels.

For example, my main tab has my tells, says, group, guild, ooc and shouts. Then I have a window for all of my combat, then another tab for DPS parsing, a 4th tab for loots, a 5th tab for my 70-79 chat and then finally my 6th tab for my worldwide troub chat.

All works fine and dandy until I relog and then my 70-79 chat (5th tab) and worldwide troub chat (6th tab) decide to display in my first tab (my main tab).

How in the world can I get this to STAY PUT? This is frustrating me beyond belief.. and those two channels I want to browse occasionally as there is just WAY too much text scrolling that spam me in my main tab.

That's the first entry in my known issues list of stuff for SOE to fix (it's on my portal). Has always been broken though, so don't hold your breath for a fix.

Open your eq2.ini in your Everquest II\ folder and remove the "#" in front of chat_allowduplicatechannels 1 and then just ignore the first tab.

Channels is quite a problem.

Mine stay in the right tab after deleting the ini file for several times, but now I have a window from an accidentally dragged tab, that, while closed, all new channels will be added to. 1st time someone writes something it will pop up again and I have to remove the channel by hand. :(

This also can get quite frustrating. At least I only need to do it around once a week. ;)

Ah, thank you so much for the reply. I should have known it was an SOE deal and not yours :)
