Minimap opens an empty dock?
I just installed the UI and it's amazing. I love it! However, one of the features I was most looking forward to was the minimap.
When i open the minimap dock, it just opens a window with the "Fetish purple/black" texture and no map. I also can't resize the dock (it's pretty big), I'll get a screenshot of it and post it to better explain the issue I am having. |
had that problem too.

I believe the dock is what you place where you'd like the minimap to appear, but I'm not sure as I've never actually used the dock (or really the minimap either...)

Here is a screenshot of the issue i am having with the minimap..
Anyone know how to resolve it? ![]() |
That's the Map Dock and not the Mini-Map Dock.
Do note that the Mini-Map is pretty much useless at this point since you can just resize the Map itself. At any rate, I'm not sure if the Mini-Map still has a button on the EQ2 Menu or not as I no longer use it nor the menu that comes with Fetish. |
There are 2 docks for the Fetish Map, the standard Dock (Map at default size) and the MiniDock (Map at roughly 1/3 size).
The purpose of these docks is to allow you to set where the map positions when you use either of the related size button. For example, set the MiniDock to the upper left corner of your screen then close it. Now when you click the MiniMap button, the map resizes and moves to match the MiniDock. The MiniMap button is a toggle, uncheck it and the Map window should revert to its previous size and possition. That the Map window itself is resizable doesn't really make either of these obsolete. Personally I keep the map open in mini mode (shoved off to a corner) when running around questing, then toggle it back to full size when I need to see more detail. Note: The inventory window also has a dock for its shrink mode. |
Ahh I get it now then, there is no "redraw" of a minimap, it's just allowing us to have 2 saved variables of the map in different locations depending on the size. :)

Yes, the orignial "MiniMap" was an external window with no POIs or pointer. You're correct in saying that external window is now mostly obsolete, though its still handy for various map devlopment related stuff or if you just want to see the map with nothing at all on top of it. It does also allow you to bring up a second map image even if you ditched the main Fetish Map ;)
