its made from the window_elements_background.dds

change it, and you will see a difference.

Not bad, is it possible to change the look of the scroll bar as well?

Yeah, I'm looking forward to this too. Vert was always the sexiest UI mod out there, imo, and I used it for years. Keep it up!

beastnic 11-20-2004 11:27 AM

Are you converting all the vert graphics to dds or leaving them tga?

i am building this from scratch. I am not actually using the old vert/solaria graphics but using them as inspiration. so this will be done in DDS format.

From what I can tell there are about 2/3rd more graphic files needed for EQ2 than EQLive, so the only way to truely port it over is to do it from scratch.

but i am picking up speed as I work on it, once I figure out how to do XXXXX that helps me apply it to 2 or 3 other things. (such as doing the chat box, it was the same principle for the main window frame you see on my last pic)

PS. it will get a new name, I just havent figure out what.

Ok, tonights update.

scrollbars in chat window and working on mana/hp bar, which includes the target bar. The endcaps on the target bar are what all of them will have currently, they are a 2nd design after seeing the results of the first (see player window for first version)

Player Window (notice new bars)

Target Window with new bar and better endcaps

Chat Window Update (all* done)

more to come. still working on it.

*editted to change chat window to final version, and target window.

skipsandwichdx 11-22-2004 10:12 AM

Not bad, not bad. Don't know how I feel about the gauge graphic, but I think it'll look better ingame than in a picture. And I assume the frame graphic for the player window will be changed from that stonelike texture, right?

Anyway, fantastic work :) keep it up!

I am prolly going to space out the black bars and make fewer of them, I agree it's looking good but not quite where I want it..

and yes, the frame will change to look like the rest of the UI. there are just a gazillion pieces to the EQ2 UI.. hehehe

I don't know about anyone else, but I didn't like the way the chat window name and the buttons both sit above the frame of the window like that. Anyone understand what I'm talking about? I dunno. I just thought that was a bad design on sony's part...

you have the option to disable the title bar.. see my first post for an example of with and without the title bar.

As a long time user of vert from eqlive i can't wait to see what you have in store for eq2 :) I'll be waiting for it to hit released.

Keep up the good work.

Jerhico 11-30-2004 03:50 PM

Keep up the good work!

Kudane,

Rest assured, there are a huge number of folks out here who really appreciate your effort and can't wait to see the final product. Solaria was its own tribute to its creators, and I'm *very* happy to see it coming in some form to EQ2.

Thanks for your hard work.
