"Only one instance of this program can be running."
I've seen the older threads on this issue, and I can't help but wonder if there's something short of rebooting my system that would "cure" it.
I have the EQ2Map Updater set to run as a scheduled task on my Win7 64-bit machine every morning at 7:30. When I try to launch the program manually after my system has run the scheduled task only once, however, I get the error message, "Only one instance of this program can be running." I've tried going into my scheduled tasks and "ending" the process. I've also looked in my Task Manager, but there is no "EQ2MAP_Updater.exe" running in my Processes tab. It can be days -- sometimes even a week or more -- between reboots for me normally. Has anyone found a non-reboot fix for this? |
No idea what the problem here is but the Windows task scheduler has an option to forcibly kill a scheduled task if it has not terminated after x minutes. I realize you said that the process is not actually running but might be worth a try?

Yep, already tried that, as indicated above. :D No joy!
Edited to add: I can go into Task Scheduler > Actions > Display all running tasks...EQ2 Map Updater isn't shown in that list either. :-/ |
Oh sorry, misread that. No idea then.
