GU40/RoK ready - do not use before your server is patched to GU40!

Changelog 4.2.1 - 4.3 (12 November 2007)

• Updated a number of windows for GU40 compatibility and features, including some interesting new features on the tradeskill window.
• Please delete eq2ui.xml, eq2ui_mainhud.xml, and eq2ui_mainhud_achievements.xml from your \ProfitUI folder, these files are no longer part of ProfitUI and not compatible with GU40
• Modders note: All custom windows that were previously located in the MainHUD tree were moved to the new Custom tree
• Modders note: The subclass detection for the persona window is no longer performed via _ProfitUI_Styles.xml
• Fixed player window "frame only" mode sometimes not taking effect after logging in
• The optional zone name display below the clock window now display the region within a zone instead of the entire zone's name if there is such a region. This is a RoK feature, I do not expect other zones to have regions, meaning for most zones you will not notice a change.
• Persona window updated with more stats. While the default UI's persona window has received an upgrade as well, the ProfitUI window still displays more stats.
• Bottom bar has not yet been updated with the new stats, but will eventually be.
• Preconfiguration for POIfinder has been removed since I have not yet seen the new EQ2MAP and I do not know whether it will be compatible. It will be added back in once I know/once it has been updated.
• The font size for the stack number display in your bags has been slightly increased to help readability. Unfortunately I cannot add a shadow to the font, which would be necessary to create better contrast on very light items such as ashen roots. I encourage you to /feedback this, requesting the possibility to add a ShadowStyle.
• InfoCenter now has button that opens the ProfitUI FAQ in a in-game browser window.
• DisplaySettings page was removed from InfoCenter since ProfitUI has its own superior display settings code
• InfoCenter now includes Sword of Destiny walkthrough compiled by mortis42
• Added heart/shard request to macro button 3 for assassins and moved the /assist macro to button 5 in _ProfitUI_QuickRaidButtons.txt

Fixes for v4.3 are available in v4.3.1.

I deleted the 3 files but the updater tries to reinstall them. I stopped it but do I need to add those to the ignore list?

4.3 is not on the updater yet
 

ProfitUI Reborn v4.3 is not yet on the updater. :)

I will add it around the time servers come up or as soon as I'm back from work, whatever comes first.

Also downloaded the standard file based from the site here and it's all screwy :(

No top, bottom bars.. Most elements have no images or are not right.

Before the update things were OK it just complained about the achievements...

I'm using one of the new graphic colors in the pack released a few days ago.. Maybe that's the issue?

Yeah same here, doesn't want to connect.. Just says it can't connect and asks if I want to change my proxy settings.

Persona window bugged too
 

When I pulled it up, the new persona window was broken. Elements on the stats page were out of alignment, for instance, and the faction page was blank. I deleted eq2ui_mainhud_persona.xml for the moment.

No, it is same way for me. I will NOT go to default UI as SoE has yet to put one out that is visually or otherwise nice.

Please gm9, fix the UI and get the updater working again.

So I downloaded ProfitUI Reborn Updater 1.08 or something.. And that one doesn't even do anything.. I open up Task Manager and see that it's running, yet it does nothing.

How much are you paying for the service contract?
Or are you just silly.

I had the problem described but then I re-read the red line, deleted the other two files, and viola, its perfect.

everything is all fugged up now....i removed was i was told to remove....now nothing shows up, no health, no buff descriptions....completely and utterly unplayable...

I removed the correct files, wtf is going on? Here is a pic of it

Updater doesnt connect
Persona window is messed up

Those are my issues I can see so far.
This is with a clean UI install.

I corrected the problem by copying the eq2.acheivment.xml from the default UI page and pasted it into my profit folder, AA window works.

Only thing i can find that doesnt work is the persona window/ factions tab. Nothing shows up under this right now.

Im now trying to understand why we had to remove all that stuff when its much easier to just copy and paste that file.

To fix the persona window, just delete the eq2ui_mainhud_persona.xml for now.

The eq2map has zoom controls but it's not updated for resizing yet.

The other strange problems people are seeing are most likely a result of not following the directions on the red line. The autoupdater does not delete any UI files because it does not know if you're using other UI mods with Profit.

Nope. followed the directions before updating and it's hosed so that may not be the entire issue.

i just a huge problem

when i discover something , gain a AA or LVL , there isnt a message pop up....

when i zone , the label withzone name doesnt appear , for example passing near the queynos claymore , a message always poped , Queynos Claymore....now dont...i notice my cursor changing....

and i noticed a HUGE window in the middle of the screen , is very large ...

thats maybe the info window , but is bugged?

any ideas?

I get the same as Momo.. I've re-installed from the RoK DVD's and refreshing ProfitUI from the file.

It just appears as if the graphic .dds are not loading properly. Once I'm patched again on a clean install I'll post back with the findings. What's odd is I was ingame before updating profit and the only issue was the achievement window.

I removed the files listed per GM9 and since then it's looked void like Momo's screenshot.

GM9 will have a solution I'm sure so no need to panic or complain tooo much.. It's a wonderful UI but this is a new release and I'm sure he's just not got everything that was patched in today vs. last beta he developed on.

That window is the eq2ui_mainhud_onscreenmessage.xml window. It uses eq2ui_textstyles.xml for the text style. Profit doesn't modify those files.

As for the other window, how did it appear?

The Updater is temporaly down. But you can still download the actually version of Profit UI under http://www.eq2interface.com/download...tUIReborn.html

It works when you delete the 3 files then. I have no problem. So you dont have to use the updater right now for the fixed Profit UI.

connection issues
 

I can not even do the manual download right now. Keep getting the connection error message on the autoupdater too. I deleted all three of the files in red, have a screen just like the pic. Any hints on what to do to correct?

i just know that pop when i finish a quest , or enter zones with names, or gain lvl AA , and i cant see the "message" so whats wrong with my ui =/

when pops i can 2nd button click and hide the borders and move it , but looks like the offscreen message thats messed up Oo

edit by gm9: removed the image because it strechted the thread. your issue: do a clean install, you have files that do not belong to ProfitUI

The problem with the messed up UI is this...when you extracted the new ProphetUI, "Use Folder Names" was selected.
If you check the UI folder, you will find an additional UI folder with ProphetUI as a sub folder.
You can either cut and paste this Prophet folder to the original UI directory, or just delete the whole thing and re-extract, making sure you unselect "Use Folder Names".

I just did this and everything is peachy now. :D :nana:

I'm also getting the same thing, removing the files has not helped, deleted the entire dir, and reinstalled and still the same problem.

No. I renamed ProfitUI folder under eq2 to ProfitUI-1, then downloaded the zip file, cut and pasted from the zip file the ProfitUI folder to the UI folder under eq2, ran the map updater and went exploring RoK.
The map update took the longest.

I was having a similar problem to the one Momo-mordain and others reported: top / bottom bars were missing, no health / power bars, broken compass and clock, etc.

I have installed and reinstalled Profit 3 or 4 times, and think that I have found the source of the problem: addons. In my case, I'm using Just Press Enter 1.9 and Start Button SOGA & Translation for International Server 1.3.1.

If I start by deleting the ProfitUI directory, install a fresh copy (including the subclass backdrops), and don't install those add-ons, the top/bottom bars work again, and the persona window also displays stats again.

The faction page is still blank, but it's definitely playable. I have tested the pop-up messages that Skuall is referring to while zoning and harvesting, and in both cases, they work. My wife (who was beta-testing) says she never saw the window frame that Skuall reported, and doesn't see it now. If it doesn't go away, you may want to start a new thread about that.

EQ2Map problems should be reported to the appropriate forum, but I've installed the EQ2Map Auto-Updater and the POIFinder and they didn't affect the UI in the same way that the other 2 add-ons did.

As for the auto-updater, I've just ignored it for the time being and have been using the 4.3 download right from the ProfitUI portal.

I deleted them and got the all screwed up interface like alot of other posters here.

Can GM9 please post for us how exactly to fix this because just deleting those three files isnt working....

Webserver crashed for no obvious reason. I actually got noticed, but already was in bed and just hoped that it would restart by itself .. seems like that did not work :P

Ran the updater with no problems except one. For some reason, in my persona window, my factions are all empty. any idea why and how to fix?

Well, i cant do more than write it in the right way. Its standing AFTER you update your Profit UI cause when you do it before you will copy the 3 files in again ^^

Anyway... the updater seems to work again so you can download it very easy now :)

But it works...
 

Seems like you guys had fun and brought down both eq2interface and the ProfitUI update server. :eek: (Kaldran, maybe check whether the new concurrent downloads feature put too much load on it).

The screenshot above is an installation problem. Kill your ProfitUI folder and reinstall, making sure that folders extract correctly.

The following fixes are on the updater right now and were the only bugs I could find yesterday. Since they are non-critical they won't be hotfixed to the manual download.

• Crafting window now works correctly in expanded mode
• Persona window alignment of vertical tradeskill class/lvl on stats tab fixed
• Persona window factions tab fixed

I cannot confirm any of the other bugs posted here and will ignore them as installation problems for now. In particular regarding the persona window stats aligment issue I'd like to see a screenshot if possible - alignment should be perfect since I used a <composite> object for it after every modder and dev on here assured me how it aligns perfectly. :p (and it does on my system at least)
