Logging out just goes to char select
Greetings!
Guess they did something today to change things. I've always been able to log out through the profit login data file by clicking on another char's name, whether they were on the same account or not. Today, clicking on a char on a different account sends me to the character select screen, just as if I had logged in the regular way. Anyone know what to do about this? |

Sony change.
New command going live with next update: /camp login Will need to use that when the change makes it. |

When I type that to log out, it just takes me to the char select screen. |
You have to wait until Sony patches it in.

its patched in now, and "/camp login" *does* take you back to loginscene, but entering data in loginscene still only takes you to character select. no idea if this is fixable via loginscene.xml change though.

Does that mean there is no way to get back the previous functionality of swapping to different accounts through profit?
This stopped working a few days before the new /camp login was patched in. |
I am SO annoyed by this! I swap characters around all day and, with ProfitUI's login, never had to jump out and back in. I wonder why they decided to change it. I'm willing to bet it's just something that got messed up and they don't know how to fix it.
Is there any fix in the works or are we stuck now having to leave the game and log back in to switch accounts? |
They changed it when they added the authenticator, but they didn't intend to break anything to my knowledge. If there's still an issue let them know, they were pretty quick on adding /camp login to try to fix it.

Found a bug that can make the client goto char select instead of into game in some cases I am going to fix it for the next hotfix.
Posted by Zoltaroth on the eq2 forums in this thread: http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/p...opic_id=503520 So it looks like we will get the functionality back in the next hotfix. Silat |

New fix today tosses me back to the character select still.

It looks like the only time I get booted to char select is if I am changing accounts. Swapping characters on the same account I have no issue, but if I try to change accounts, its char select.

Ok, I found a workaround for those of us with multiple accounts. Open the camp window, and double click the toon you want to camp to, to start the camping process. Move to cancel it, then type "/camp login". You should be able to then camp straight from the char you're on to a char on another account without it kicking you to the char select.
I've done this multiple times with no issue. So please please can we get this as an option on the login screen? Maybe have it as another button, because i'm not sure if it would break anything to use /camp login to log into chars on the same account. |
Explain in more detail for me please.

Ok, if you open your login/camp out screen in game, then double click on a name, the name is highlighted. If you then cancel the camping by moving or standing up, the name is still highlighted in the login window (you can see this if you open it again). Then type "/camp login" which is the new command they added to camp you to login screen (thus let you swap accounts), and it will do exactly as the old /camp <name> used to do when swapping between accounts, it will camp you out, then log you in on the char on the other account, instead of just kicking you to char select of your current account.
Just selecting the name on the list and typing /camp login doesn't work, you have to actually start camping and cancel it before doing /camp login before it works. Not sure why. But maybe adding a button that has /camp login to swap between accounts, or figure out a way that you can replicate what happens when you do the steps listed above. I know its annoying, and something Sony needs to fix, but I found the work around and figured I'd share it. |

Anyhow, I'll see what I can do. Silat |
Silat, since you're not familiar with that code and there's actually some old superfluous code in there which might be confusing. What's happening is the shutdown window interacts with the login window to perform an automatic login by pre-filling the values. To fix this issue you'll most likely just have to change the camp command in the OnDoubleClick event in eq2ui_mainhud_shutdown.xml to a camp login command.

As per GM9's suggestion. Here is the file. It seems to be functional. Test it and let me know so I can push it to the updater.

I've put the file on two computers and it has worked without a hitch so far. I'm so happy to have this ability back! Thanks for all the hard work.

When I opened the camping/logout window, I have no characters listed. Instead I have "CHARACTER on SERVER" (USER) Anyone have any suggestions on why this is occurring or things I could try to fix the problem? |

<Data username="USER" password="PASSWORD" Name="CHARACTER" server="SERVER" />
I guess I'm not sure how I can make this work. I did something like the following using notepad: <Data username=immauser password=itsapassword Name=Me server=Everfrost /> <Data username=immauser password=itsapassword Name=Otheralt server=Antonia Bayle /> <Data username=twoboxing password=itsapassword Name=Notherone server=Everfrost /> I logged in use the Everquest2.exe which works fine for me normally. After doing the above, I ended up with a weird UI that was a mix of profit and mutated default. I deleted the new file I made and reverted to the old one and all works ok. I'm clueless about programming so I probably did something wrong in my editing. Do you see any problems with what I did above? |

Excellent! Now it works for me. Thanks guys!
