I've never modified or included this window in the thorui.
Might want to make sure none of the other mods you've been using have files in the thorui. With that said, delete "eq2ui_options.xml" if it exists in the thorui as it's not mine ;) Quote:

Thorui doesn´t work

i`ve installed the Ui and coosen the full option. After updating it starts EQ2, but nothing is canged, i see the standart ui. i´ve winXP pro sp2 EQ 2 is on standart Path Thorui allso. dit anyone know were is the mistake? THX PS to Lazaru5 big sorry and THX |
Hawk, make I'd suggest checking the path of your eq2 directori within the ThorUI AU again, just to be sure
Faetyl, I was just wondering if you might know of a way to change the default webpage in the in-game browser, becomes a bit tedious to navigate to the right page all the time :P |
Proxy/Firewall problem?

tnx to all the ppl who contributed to this unique UI, you're great!!! I'm using Thor UI at home without problems but when I try to install it on my PC at work (yes my work is to test new UI :p ) I notice a strange behaviour... The auto-update starts and I can see the page with the News but I got this error message: EXCEPTION in GetAFile Local File Name: C:\Programmi\thorui\lock.txt Remote RULhttp://thorui.thorsparks.com/autoupdate/lock.txt Socket Error # 10061 Connection refused. Update Server is locked. Please try again later! I wonder if this is somehow related to my network configuration: - I'm behind a firewall I cannot manage (whitout hacking it ;) ) - all IP ports except port 80 are open if the INITIATOR is INSIDE (actually I can use EQII client or EQIIMAP updater) - to use port 80 I must configure the browser to use the proxy (again I cannot manage it) There is a workaround to this situation? Thorui does`nt work

Well i got no errors but allso no changes it starts the normal ui, with first the downloads an than the gamestart. What is my mistake?
I think if fond my mistake i startet th wrong Prog. I´m allways started the EQ2.exe and not the EverQuest2.exe but one little prb how can i start it with Thorui in German Lang? :confused: if i start it manual it is in German! :confused: :confused: |

I can easily fetch the lock file in the browser, the result is: Use this file to lock the server when an update post is in progress. (LOCKED=YES will lock the clients from downloading stuff). 3rd line is message you want user to see. LOCKED=NO The Thor UI Auto Update server is locked for an update. I'd like to see an option for Hotbars without the up/down arrows. I don't know if anyone is the same way but I only change my primary hotbar and without the up/down arrows I just use shift-1, 2, 3, 4, etc.
Or, perhaps a way to make it permanently invisible like when you turn off frames, etc. I was using Mook's before, and its not too bad but would be even better if you could hide the up/down arrows permanently, unless you change the window settings. |
Spell Effects/Maintained Spells windows?
I just installed ThorUI yesterday and everything seems to be working properly except for the Spell Effects and Maintained Spells windows. Basically what's happening on my system is that those two windows are still the default EQ2 style while everything else in my UI is the ThorUI style. Quite frankly, the default EQ2 UI is ugly and I'd really like my Spell Effects and Maintained Spells windows to look like the rest of the UI (i.e cleaner and smaller). I've searched the advanced tab in the AU for anything resembling a spell window mod but I've found nothing. Perhaps I'm missing it?

i had this ui before awhile back before you made all these changed.. and for some reason when i type in my chars name and server name it doesn't set the ui for me.. like when it says ThorUI_1024x768_eq2_uisettings... you supposed to put the char name in the eq2 spot and server name in the uisettings spot right?

Use the window wizard provided in the Auto Updater application if at all possible. (It simplifies the process) Just make sure you have the window setting config you wish to use selected as a download. Quote:

I never edited the maintained or effects windows but since SOE's last update I probably should. I've been a bit unavailable lately due to personal matters but should become more available soon. I'll be sure to add this to my todo list. For now, you could do as I do and fade out the frame and backgrounds completely so you only see the spell icons. Wish I could be more accomodating but time is against me on this one currently. Quote:

Okay.. I have a small problem. On Mahonri's shutdown piece, if I go ahead and modify it so that it has my character's names in it the updater see's it as not matching the updated file from the patcher. Is there any way of having the updater check the modified date of the changed file against the server version so that it sees the version on the local client as a newer file and then skips it instead of updating it?
Right now I backed that up and am only running the updater occasionally and then replacing that file. Thanks, |

I miss my Thor :(
Tried downloading the auto updater. When installing the AU it will freeze at 99% on the file icon_map3.dds I know there have been some others with this same issue, and have read through the forum, but Im still banging my head against the wall. I have deleted my Thor folder and tried again...no go. It has to be something very basic and silly on my side I am sure. I would greatly appreciate any help that can be thrown my way. |

Can you post any error messages you get in the logs? That would give me a starting point. I could adjust the .dds files to use binary mode instead of ascii mode for downloads but I'm not sure that would fix your issue. |

Since the inventory window changed today with LU #16, will we be getting an update to Jaxel's inventory window? I prefer that one, but the updater hasn't downloaded a new one and the slots are wrong now :)

I will certainly try to get other author's mod updated as soon as they are availlable. I've included full author credits and info on each mod item so feel free to click the "..." button and submit your inquiry to the original authors. Broken/Missing Items since patch
Items I've seen that no longer work right, or are missing sections or information after the update include: Bank, Market, Store, Inventory (either version) and the Persona tab.
Looks like these all need to be updated to handle the new look and information provided after the latest patch. I know your all over it, just wanted to let you know what I had seen thus far. Thanks! |

I just wanted to post a quick update. You should have been seeing automatic updates throughout the day if your using my interface pieces. (If your using another author's mods there will be a delay as they have to post an update then I have to upload that to the ThorUI AU) If an Author has posted an update and I haven't gotten to it yet, please let me know. ;) I saved the store window for last as it's going to take a bit of time. (I'm on it now) As always, let me know if you see any issues. From what I can tell only outstanding issue is the store window for in house sales and a few windows with old frames. |
Took me a bit of work, but got your UI all working and placed how I like it. Great UI thanks for all the hard work.
One request, is there a way to set the AA/AF command line in the EQ2.ini file? Currently the updater replaces the ini file everytime. |
current problems with the UI (as at patch time 10 Nov 05)
Firstly let me extend my thanks to you and all the other modders who contributed to this fantastic UI.
OK current things not working right (mostly since LU16):- 1. Map POI's all missing for Antonica (no matter which mode I try). 2. Room trader/vault market browser won't detect the item from your trader board window when you click "find this item". 3. Can't adjust the size of the target window and the bottom half of the lower row of data is cut off. 4. The feature to let you log to other characters directly isn't working as it won't detect my other characters. 5. Can't close a lot of windows (inventory bags, bank bags, bank window, etc) usuing their "x" in the top right corner - it 'clicks' but nothing happens. 6. Journal not updating correctly - completed quest total not increasing when you complete a quest (mine is now over 10 behind my actual total!) and some quests not updating in the journal (e.g. still shows a spirit shard recovery quest when I have got the shard back)! 7. Persona Window - no paperdoll - that tab has been replaced by another tab that lets you adjust some character settings! Slaas Quester - 49 Paladin - Highkeep server |

SOE changed the options for show hood/illusions and that's what broke the startbar. I'll work on updating this but since they added those options to the persona window it's accessable therefore will come later. sorry
My inventory has all the updates but some didn't like it so may be using another authors version that's been included in the ThorUI AU. You can switch to my version by going into options untill the other authors have a chance to update their versions. I must have missed the total days active part. I'll add this to my list. I downloaded the Thor UI recently and I love it, I've never been big on downloading custom UI's but I'm really glad I decided to give this one a shot. But ever since I downloaded the UI, and switched to widescreen letterbox mode so I could use Faetyl's window set up, I have these constant occurrences of the viewing area getting blacked out, it comes and goes, flickers in and out at what seems to be completely sporadic intervals. Usually at the worst possible times, like when I'm fighting, on engage, or when fleeing enemies, but it does even happen when I'm just standing there not doing anything. It happens it 1st person view and 3rd person view. Any suggestions on how to fix this or get it to stop? It is extremely frustrating, but I deal with it cause the ThorUI is worth it. Thanks.
