Working on fixing this now likes..... Now that element you speak of I will see how long its going to take to either fix or remove the Inv stuff from it ... just have to see....

Please give this a try m8... No fix for the clock window as yet... What exactly is happeing? IE does it cause an error when the UI loads and windows are missing? OR does it only cause the error when you toggle "alt+c" ? |

Ok that didnt work / help!
Attached a couple of screenys to show ya. The clock thing is just the thing I still gotta do when I log on. First of all, my screen looks like screeny 1, then I alt-c twice and it looks like screeny 2. Well cept usually in the middle at the top I have the element with Zone, coins (on mouseover) and the ammo slots. I have tried this with and without inventory_inventory in my UI folder, with it in, I cant get my inventory at all, so I took it out. The screenys are with that one out btw. I was just thinking if that missing middle top element didnt have the ammo / bag / item boxes on, the rest would work. |
inventory_inventory needs version="2.0.0" flag added, then they renamed all the object names (like the name for chest is now "chest" instead of like uiobject13 or whatever

Ok you can see why I got a char called gnobber lol.
Didnt notice the GU25 download available! Just trying it out now, first attempt and no error messages raar! I seem to be getting that annoying inventory drop down thingy you did tho still, despite putting in the alt windows false inventory files. Just gonna test this with the file you put up earlier. Sorry for being a gnob! |

Erm ok! This is wierd! Am using the latest zip, with the files in the madhogs preferred, then the alt inventory ones, and then finally the ammo file you put up a few posts back. Nothing hugely dramatic there.
Look at the screeny lol. First screeny is normal, 2nd one is pressing i for inventory. If I could just get rid of that extended one and keep the one I got at the top Id be a happy gnobber! |

Just deleted inventory_inventory and its all hunky dory. Ta for the bit of stuff you did too Laffy. *giggle* /hug |

Okies so this is all working now then? As per madhogs surgestion a while back quite a few of the sub windows are using default now to cut down on the amount of windows that break.. But i will be redoing the most often used ones that are just too big.. like the loot, examine etc etc |
Only thing not working atm is the zone reuse timer one. Seem to recall this from before, so Ill re read this thread tomorrow and figure out how to fix it again hehe. Wasnt it something to do with an include somewhere??

You noticed anything funny with the state icons on player names? Mine look like I have 2 slightly overlapping. The numbers are counting up ok, so if say I got 2 dots on me, its a 2, but the icon looks....odd! If you aint getting this Ill post a screeny, I suspect its something to blame on SOE but you never know eh? /giggle |
Hmm post a screeny then coz I aint noticed dont have chance to look at that junk being MT all the blooming time likes lol ;)

Look at the state icons on me casting bar thingy, if Im in a group, they look the same as that too on the group member names. Btw, I hadda get a helluva train of spiders on me to get the 4 dots, thank god FD worked! Dont tell me this is just me... |
So what your telling me is the different types of icons still display in the correct places and are not mixed up , but when they do display any value over 1 they look like that SS ?

Well kinda, apart from the bit about over 1. 1 shows like that too. Its like the icon is shadowed.
Ill try and get in a group and get them all dotted / debuffed so you can see! :D |
Okies ty... I think I know what the problem might be, i may have to remove all the stuff that was needed to get it to work properly when that function 1st became availble... Or it may just be a zone rect problem... anyways will w8 for SS and take a bit more notice in game myself for now.

Ok this is just plain ole odd.
As you can see, if theres just 1 its kinda muted in appearance, if more than 1 the numbers show up properly but its like doubled up, as you can see from me harclave one, sometimes the 1 appears too. Appears the same on group members too btw. |

heres a player window I found what the problem was with that... As for the group window that uses the standard icons that the default uses so other than it maybe broken in default aslo I can see what the problem could be with that atm...

One other thing btw, I'd forgotten I usually delete the eq2ui_journals_active file. I hadnt this time initially and Id noticed if I was on a timed quest, rather than displaying the countdown, it just displays the text *time*. Now for me this ain't a problem, as I've deleted the eq2ui_journals_active file but don't you get this?? |
Thanks for pointing that out.. SoE has been messing around with the data for that window as well I thought I had managed to fix it must have missed somthing the other one in V8 is working likes hmm..

Just a note fyi, using that file, all the icons for both me and group members are sorted and funky again, so thats all fixed.
Like I said, I dont like a skinned quest window, I prefer the default one cos I can set it to no background at all etc, so, mines ok, just anyone else using the one in the folder is gonna get caught out on timed quests. The time still works ok in the actual journal tho. |
Todays GU crashes when logging in, and, as it works in default UI mode I can only assume its the UI.
Cant figure out yet which file(s) because they only listed the guild one as being changed, but that aint a modded one heh. /sigh |
Have tried removing almost all the files I can think of heh, nothing helps, still crashes, guess Ill use the default til this or one of the other customs is fixed :(

Reading the other forums, I think its an inventory type file, which I think, is linked into the element at the top with Zone, cash, and ammo slots on it.

Aye Im still here m8 will take a look at this in the next few days... I have looked at the files that were on test particualy the Inv window and apart from the version number couldnt realy seen much else that would break it as they said the localisation stuff was optional /shrug

Well...DM has posted something that make help and erm, may make sense to you cos it sure as hell means nothing to me! DMs LU27 Fix Does look like its inventory related and the element at the top calling certain things, other than that, its all greek to me! Oh my missus said to say to you.../tap :D |
Erm ok this is wierd. Just deleted the clock file, got the one from the last zip, put that in (as per another thread...), and it works. Well the zone/quest/coin/inv slot thingy aint there but its working other than that.
No idea why though, dont remember deleting that file! heh |

Just added the paperdoll (hidden) to your false Inv window Madhog and for the other Laffs Inv window just changed the paperdoll... May have to toggle "alt+c" again likes I had to once |

Color of the Current Target Window
Hey. I've noticed that the target window changes the color of the name of the target. Can you make it not do that. It makes it hard to read. I think you were trying to show the con of the target. The problem is you didn't update the color table when Sony did. They've elongated what level a color is.

The only time I have trouble reading a targets name in the target window is when you camp from one character to another without exiting the game..... But that has always been a problem even with the default UI has it not ??? or have they fixed that now and I have missed it somplace???
I am sure if there was/is a problem here with this that could be fixed Madhog would have been on my case about it long before you m8 hehe Oh and by the way if there's anyone here thats in the EoF beta would you fancy sending me the eq2ui_inventory_inventory.xml file please? as with the few extra slots I have heard about its this one thats going to take the longest to fix in this UI when it go's live, Thanks P.S "They have elongated what level a color is" ??????? I never had trouble with the color in the target window when camping, on my UI only the player and pet windows get the wrong colors when you do that.

I am now on EoF beta, And am working my way through updating this UI.. Now I know whats broken and whats not... Basicly its compleatly FUBAR at 1st and just crashes the game but after a few tweaks and removing some windows etc I got it working again...
Much to do though.. Need to make new chat window, hotkeys, effects and tweaks to target windows also the fonts file needs redoing to just name a few things on the todo list... Once this go's live if I havent finished it all I will post what is working in THIS thread here for you to use minus the stuff thats not fixed so at least you can play again with the UI But you never know I might actualy get it all done by then... just play it by ear so to speak... Thats if I can stop playing with my fairy long enough to get the code fixed lmao (pun intended) :D |
