I have confirmed that they do work when using a clean install. I believe the chat bubbles come from the eq2ui_proxyactor.xml file.

Verify that you have a file date of 08/01/08 for that file in your FetishNightFall directory.

Chat bubbles do come from the eq2ui_proxyactor.xml file. That was updated last GU to account for the little "speaking" icon that pops up in one now, but the current Fetish version has that updated file in my experience.

I'm having the same problem with NPC quest chat bubbles. I see them for normal comments, but in quest dialog I do not. I am going to try replacing the proxyactor file with the one from the GU47 Minimum patch and see if that fixes it as it was working fine with 9.9 + that patch. I'll post findings shortly.

fwaits 08-09-2008 02:29 PM

Confirmed.

If I do a fresh extract of Fetish 10.0 to C:\Program Files\Sony\Everquest2\UI\FetishNightfall\ I do not see chat bubble for quests or Griffon tamers, etc... I can see chat bubbles for simple chat or NPC comments that don't give you prompts to click. If I then rename the eq2ui_proxyactor.xml file and replace it with the one from this patch:

http://www.eq2interface.com/downloads/info4818.html

They work fine. It seems as if the one in the 10.0 release is bugged somehow. Hope this helps.

Hmm, I did not test a quest giver dialog. Sorry. Well I did some checking and it looks like this might be the offender. I cannot find any other difference that might contribute.

<Page AbsorbsInput="false" BackgroundColor="#FF0000" GetsInput="false" Name="ChatPage" ScrollExtent="222,78" Size="222,78" Visible="false">

Not sure why it got set to false, but removing that command should get it going.

Just search for the first occurrance of ChatPage in the file and go to the end of the line and remove Visible="false" from the text.

thx for the info, will give it a try

That seemed to be the culprit. I made that change in the 10.0 proxyactor file and it is working normally again. Good catch.

Text input bar

Hi all - first of all, great UI. Can't live without it.

...Which is why this is so frustrating. I have a minor problem with my UI. (Using Vista Premium x64, if that matters) I use two seperate chat windows. One for Game related stuff, one for Local chat, say, whispers, etc... Both windows require me to mouseover them to display the chat input bar.

If I don't mouseover, and attempt to enter text (Using the "Enter" key), it will type the text in the window, but it will overwrite the last line in the chat log.

Mousing over moves all of the logged text up one level, allowing for unhindered use of the chat input bar.

Is there a setting that allows the input bar to be "always-on"?

-Thanks!

Screenshot: http://fileshack.us/get_file.php?id=...e=tmpn07IZ.jpg
Note: The above screenshot is not edited. It's exactly what happens when I type without my mouse in the window.

fwaits 08-11-2008 01:55 PM

You need to modify the window you want to chat in to have the titlebar on. You can hide it with opacity settings.

RogueJD 08-11-2008 07:21 PM

Such a simple thing. Thanks for clearing that up. Sorry that I posted here - I thought it to be a UI thing, as the problem didn't occur with default UI.

-Thanks again!

just a lil cosmetic thing..
when resizing the guild window's width, the position of the member point column doesnt scale properly

opstar 09-04-2008 01:50 PM

10.1b

I suppose.

Taxet 09-04-2008 07:13 PM

You probably should pull down your photo to prevent the display of private phone numbers.

The problem is really a mechanics issue with how SOE setup the roster to shrink and grow based on the rank access to assign points.

I fixed this on my version of FetishDarkRoyale and you can drop this in if you like until Zonx gets his version corrected.

UI Newbie Learnin the ropes...

I love this UI Zonx, thank you for all the effort you've put into it (and your support team). The problem I have is not just with your UI though, and I've yet to find it described on any forums. I've tried one other UI (Goldi) and had the same prob, I just wasn't as comfortable with that UI. Download went fine (yes, newest one), fixed the EQ2 Map glitch no prob. It's just that when I log the game in, I have to manually type /loadui Fetishnightfall, then readjust the windows every time (real PITA when playing alts). No matter what, it seems to always want to bring the default ui up and make me manually put in fetish...if anyone knows what I'm doing wrong, I'd appreciate some feedback on this forum. Thank you for your time, and again, I love this UI:o:o

Check his install instructions, you are missing your eq2.ini file or have it misconfigured.

kenrobo 10-15-2008 08:20 AM

hmmm

Nice!! The prob was my eq2.ini file (it was set to map) got it fixed and works beautiffuly, thnx guys :-)

harczos 10-19-2008 08:12 AM

some things missing from the 10.2 release like harvest depot isnt skinned, guild house history list is missing, headers for access tab on gh are missing

Zonx 11-15-2008 10:21 PM

Am aware the harvest bank wasn't reskinned, will fix that with the TSO release.

I'll check into the guild history issue, first I've heard of there being a prob.

chat window

hey all!
i am not really sure if the following is a bug, or a feature :D

the text in chatwindow is kinda jumping around on mouseover... meaning...
if i dont mouseover the chatbox, the text would jump down covering the text entering area, if i mouseover, the text jumps up and the text entering area is free. i would like to have the text entering area always free, because if i dont mouseover and only hit enter, i cant really see, what i am typing, since the last line in chat and the text i am entering are overlapping... kinda hard to describe, but i hope you know what i mean...

else this is a really really nice UI... so useful features... thanks for it!!!

That's a feature of the default fetish chatwindow covered in many a post ;)

To get rid of that behavior, you can swap out the mainhud_mainchat.xml file with the one called _simple_mainhud_mainchat.xml and it'll stop that.

goh 11-19-2008 09:09 PM

I can confirm the "guild history missing bug" as well in 10.2. Look for ward to the TSO update. Keep up the great work Zonx!

Zonx 11-20-2008 05:23 PM

Release 10.5 should resolve the History, Container and Map issues.

harczos 11-20-2008 07:30 PM

great, thanks for the update, but still have some issues

-history window: payment column should be wider, it overlaps the reason column
-access: headers are still missing (name, access level)

lordebon 11-21-2008 08:19 AM

There is also a mysterious "Category" piece of text sitting on each of the AA pages, from what I can see. Not sure why it's there, hehe.
