The slayer status window has a bunch of new mob types added so that the window no longer fits on my screen. Any way to mod this so I can see it all at once?

Extra TAB?

I dont know why this is happening but every time i restart EQII and when I press enter to start typing in the chat window an EXTRA window pops up I have to drag and drop it in to my chat area for it to become a tab and then remove the tab but next time i log in its there again. any thing to fix this?

Thank you.

Any chance of looking into this? As an interrim fix, I just created another chat window to use for what I type only, but it can only be resized so much and is taking up valuable screen real estate.

Thanks.

I'm having the same problem...

In your fetish UI folder,

Try renaming _simple_eq2ui_mainhud_chat.xml to eq2ui_mainhud_chat.xml (and just back up the old one).

I think someone in game told me thats how they fixed that problem. It must be related to frames and titlebars.... which I leave up and so have no problem.

It just needs to be resized and have a scrollbar added, like in the default.

If I have time today I'll try and look at that.

Strange, I don't even have that file in the directory at all...

OH! Here it is.. it's called eq2ui_mainhud_mainchat.xml :)

... and it worked! w00h00!

I bow to your greatness :)

Need a little help

Hi Zonx, I am loving your UI but I have two small problems:

1 - everytime I press Head on the Persona Window, the client crashes and I go back to the desktop.

2 - I accidentaly removed (donīt know how) the personabar. How do I make it appear again? I tried Alt P but it doesn't do the trick.

Thanks for the help.

No chat box at character login

At one point, I accidently clicked the X on the chat box window while playing on one of my toons. Shortly after that, I had to log to another toon for some guild maintenance. When I went back to the first toon and logged in, there was no chat window until I pressed ENTER.

I haven't figured out how to make it so that chat window is present at login. I end up missing messages from guildmates and such until I press ENTER. Anyone know how to reset that window to default as present at login?

Thanks in advance!

I had made a typo... did you rename simple_eq2ui_mainhud_mainchat.xml to eq2ui_mainhud_mainchat.xml or did you follow exactly as I had typed it? I had left out a "main" before chat.

1 - Is a known bug with some video cards and such it seems. It appears that they are not capable of properly resizing the new persona window (I know mine crashes too -- just don't click it).

2 - I think therse a little button for it either on the persona window or inventory window (don't use it, so not 100% sure).

Yes I tried it both ways actually. Still comes up :(

Zonx 11-20-2006 05:11 PM

Please read the Fetish FAQ befor posting questions. It covers stuff like chat window stealthing, Head button and showing the Personabar.

Edit: My apologise... the FAQ instructions for disabeling chat input stealthing were in error and have been corrected.

BrantBear, it sounds like you have a bugged server_character_settings.ini file. This used to be a very common problem on SOE's end that usually requires trashing your existing settings file and redoing your window layout for that toon. The symptoms are windows (chat in particular) that refuse to save possition and/or reapear on login.

Sometimes you can force the window to be updated by doing the following...

1) Manually move the window it in game
2) Wait 2 min for the client to save your settings
3) Close the window if you want it gone
4) Wait another 2 min
5) Try relogging. If it reappears, you probably need to trash your settings file.

Writ Timer covering up item info

2 Attachment(s)
I saw several earlier posts about the timer on craft writs covering up the first line in the quest helper window, but nothing regarding how to solve it. I have to open my journal to find out what I'm making instead of being able to use the quest helper. I tried resizing the window but it didn't make any difference. Anyone have a suggestion for fixing it?

Thanks in advance!

Zonx 11-20-2006 07:48 PM

Thanks for the screens shots, they do help.

I don't see any differences in the default code and mine that would account for the problem. Please do the following...

1) Rename eq2ui_journal_active.xml in your Fetish directory to bk_eq2ui_journal_active.xml (to enable the default file).

2) Post a screenshot of the default rush work order display.

Persona Bar

I there a way to have just the persona bar show up in my UI. I really like that feature, and am customizing my own UI from different parts

Deathstrike613 11-21-2006 12:15 AM

Nevermind, I found the single element. However that didn't work, so my question still stands.

A: Use Window Settings and turn ON the titlebar for any chat window you plan to type in. You can hide the titlebar using the opacity slider.

Is that what you're referring to in the FAQ for the chat problem? Yes, it'll keep the input from being overlapped, but if you use the opacity slider to hide the titlebar, it also hides any tabs you have in that window. Overwriting the eq2_mainhud_mainchat file with _simple_eq2_mainhud_mainchat works, but of course removes the new 'bells and whistles' SOE put on the chat windows.

Missing elements

I've got 2 problems right now, 1 minor and ignoreable, other major.

On the end of my hotbars (I keep 5 open) the up/down arrows for moving to other bars are missing. I've just got black squares, although they work fine.

The other problem is much worse. My collections tab in my quest journal shows me the icon squares of the items in the collections I have active, but no names at all. Just a black background.

I've reinstalled the journal files, and the Fetish style files, etc. I've got no idea how to fix this problem.

Help of any kind would be most appreciated. :)

Thanks

Zonx 11-21-2006 01:55 AM

Ertoocs, personally I don't feel the need to see tabs except on mouseover when I'm changing tabs. If other folks think they should always be shown, I could make that happen in my standard window. So far there hasn't been any big outcry to change it ;)

Sablerose, SOE is now providing an option to show/hide the hotkey spinner as a right-click option. I think the new default is to hide the spinner, but your windows were saved with the old size. Set the spinner how you want it and the window should resize to fit.

As noted in the FAQ, black windows/backgrounds generally indicate a graphics file is missing from the images directory.

Missing Elements

Thanks for the quick reply, Zonx.

I checked the FAQ, and went back for some retesting. I did a complete UI reinstall, which is a large project, as I have many 1-window extras in my UI.
I was double-checking every overwrite, as I went. I got to the end, and still had the same errors, both of them.

Then I decided to check in-game after each section, and started with the basics. I renamed the Fetish folder, made a new one with diff name. I changed the eq2.ini to match that name. Then I extracted the Fetish 7.5 into it. No errors. I extracted the Fetish Nightfall Goth theme. And bingo, both errors showed up. :(

So, is there, or will there be, an update to the Goth 4.7? I love that look, and don't particularly like the purple.

Thanks for the help.

I have always thought it was suppose to be like that - I mean the timer covering up the top writ item. Anyways I made a couple of screenshots, one of the Fetish journal and one of the default

Okay, going to try to attach them. Uploading according to site instructions but Bah I cannot see them when I hit the preview button. Will post anyways and hope.

Zonx 11-21-2006 07:44 PM

Yep, Themes deffinetly need an update. They are missing a handfull of needed styles. I hope to get to that soonish.

If you're feeling ambitious, you could do a side-by-side compare of the _FetishStyles.xml files from Nightfall and Goth to find which objects are missing.
