Inventory WIndow...
"As far as I am aware" Sony coding only allows for one functional inventory window.
So no go on button to activate another version of it.
I can however create a different inventory window entirely that still has some functionality of my current slimline version.

Now that I've completed the main cleanup I will be able to concentrate more on modding again. :D
I'll see what I can come up with.
FYI I'm fine with recommendations/suggestions being posted here ;)

New to thorUI and having a problem.
 

Greetings, Love the mod so far. Having one problem though and a question about a feature.

Problem - When i'm just walking around i cannot hit enter to chat. I have to use g, t, r one of them buttons. Now when i start to fight, i can hit enter and chat will work with enter key. My friend has only had this problem once. We are using same thor build. same configuration and even sharing the same ui file renamed. Is this a known problem? i've attempted to correct it myself to no avail.

Question - I notice there is no way to change titles in the persona with your mod. Is there another way to do it? prefix/suffix titles. Are you going to implement this?

This is due to the Inventory mod being open.
If you close the inventory window you will see you are able to press enter to chat.

Ahh thank you. That was driving me crazy about the chat thing.

Persona - Ya know i saw that and just browsed right over it. Because the persona is there, Just not the suffix/prefix. So didn't even think to put 2 and 2 together :) Will be nice when it works.

Well I browsed here looking for a solution to not being able to hit enter and chat, and found the solution, so that's good.

Is it maybe possible in the future we'll be able to chat with the inventory window open though? It's how I usually play.

Also, and I did not find this posted anywhere, but when I log in, there are two "windows" open that I cannot close. Their options panels allow no filtering for messages. I can't chat in them or do anything. What are they?

As Ive Defected said, the inventory window which was present in 4.5 i believe ( the one that only showed boxes and the row with shield, bow, ammo etc when minimized) was perfect for me =) I was wondering if you could perhaps upload that as a separate xml file to download, since I no longer have the v4.5 installer, or perhaps add that version as an option in the installer?

found one more thing while Tradskilling that is driving me insane....
when you click into your componant window and dont have the ingreidiants needed and cancel out it sends you back to the top of the list and you have to scroll all the way back down.there is also no way to scroll down unless you click in the window on a recipe.

I uninstalled, deleted folder, reinstalled, and the windows went bye bye.

Also like to echo the post about the tradeskilling window going back to top when cancelling out. More than that though, I have to click on something in the menu before I can scroll down. The window acts like first 8 or 9 items in the menu are all that exist and the slider on the right hand side that can usually go up and down quite a ways takes up the whole window and cannot be moved at all until something in the recipe book is selected.

first off this is an excellent UI.

n/m stupid me, i found the show/hide illusions tab

also this may be a stupid question, but how do i uninstall the UI? since it's an .exe installer I looked for an entry in add/remove programs but didn's see it.

I took the control panel entry out as that made a registry entry and a user had an issue with it...
The installer just places files in the ThorUI folder so no registry entries now.
Everything is self contained so a simple right click delete will "uninstall" it now.
I did leave the "uninstall.exe" accessable via the start menu though to make things simple for us.
If you use that it won't uninstall your custom graphics settings or the custom notes used within the ThorUI.

I acknowledge the issue and know exactly what your talking about.
The mod is Jaxel's as I didn't think I could ask for a better tradeskill window in my opinion.
As I have in the past; I will look at refining every piece within time so until I get a chance to look into it, the same option applies as with all other windows.
If it's an issue, delete the window or "uninstall and deselect that window mod at install".

On another note: I know some want the individual backgrounds on the groupmembers window back. I will see about including this as another install option.

I just downloaded your UI and love it,but I need to now how I can (A) delete one custom UI or (B) how to get it to do what I want.

My problem is this 1. cant size chat windows the way I want.I can make them fat or skinny but not long or short. 2. the group window can not be put long way as a healer I have it at the side of my window and my spells are right next to it but it only goes side ways.Is there a way to remedy this without changeing everything .

I love the actual tradeskilling window...but the recipe list is frustrating ,i will how ever get over it :P

When you install checkout the options.
Every window is available to include, exclude, or substitute with another.
The groupmember window for example has an alternate provided that fills top to bottom I believe. ;)

You can just install over top of your current ThorUI install without hurting anything. :)

You "should" be able to resize my chat window to your hearts content.
Just be sure to click reset to default opacity and location and go from there.

Examine windows blank
 

I just uninstalled 4.8.5 and installed 4.8.6 last night. Love the new options in the installer, I like the new crafting window a lot. However when I examine an item all I get is a blank window. Tried camping to DT - still happens. I ended up going back to 4.8.5 till this is fixed. GREAT UI! Keep up the good work!

The mod is terrific. The installer really is nice.

The reszing for hotbars will be a nice add when its ready.

Also, a templar request.

Any timers would really help. For example, manastone, and all of the maintained spells that require concentration.

The swap out of activatables would also be a terrific add, cross class i suspect.

ThorUI doesn't modify the examine window at all. "Sony's still messing with this one with all their changes to Character/Item viewing"

From your comments, I suspect you have a custom eq2ui_examine.xml in the ThorUI folder. (One that most likely uses Fetish customizations as the latest release of the ThorUI doesn't include those files any longer.)

I recommend uninstall then delete the ThorUI folder completely. (Just rename to ThorUIold or something if you want a backup) Then reinstall with 4.8.6 "Only items you may want from the previous version are notes and the custom presets if you have modified them"

You should find all is in order afterwards.

well I installed 4.8.6 today. The persona window looks better than it did, and I can now make the raid window mostly transparent. but found one thing that may be a bug.

In the my store window, under the sales log tab. the scroll bar on the right does not move in or out when the window is resized. it stays in place, so if I widen the window I have the scroll bar cutting down through the text part of the window. and this only happens on the sales log tab, the vault items and merchandise tabs are fine. I can provide a screenshot if you want.

No screeny needed, actually forgot to include in update.
I have the fixed version and will post it in the hotfix section.

I'm using this mod on the Test server while the Fetish mod remains incompatible...

Now forgive me if I missed it, but is there any way to close additional chat windows without making them tabs in the main chat window and choosing 'Remove tab'? I couldn't find any way to display the title bar, which would've exposed a close button. (I too had that 'phantom chat window' problem and only got rid of it through some clever window juggling.) Am I missing something?

Also, I want to remove the frame around the group window, is that possible? I reduced its transparency to 0, but it still won't go away.

Chat Window:
Right click to window options and ensure show frame and all opacities are maxed.
Clicking default location and default opacities should do this.
Click a tab, then right click and choose remove tab.
Or you could simply not use my window placments file as this would set you back to default chat and window positions.

Groupmember Window:
It isn't possible to remove the frame while in game as the frames are member specific and the controls only apply to the container window.
I could however make you a custom version real quick...

Thank you for the quick response. I tried the new eq2ui_mainhud_groupmembers.xml file and it was exactly what I was looking for! I also found the chat window's "close" button by hitting its "Default Opacities" like you said. Odd that it only shows up that way, though. =)

I run at 1600x1200, so I like to keep my UI stuff as out of the way as possible. But think I found another bug. If you look at the Store Log window here, you'll see the scroll bar doesn't quite 'stick' to the right side of the window as it should when you resize horizontally:

Hello Faetyl,iam useing newest version everything was working great,iam useing the sword knowledge book,use to be able to close book with gem thing at bottom of book now all of a sudden it doesnt work and getting no errors,any ideas

Yo Faetyl, just wanna start off by saying what a stupendous job you're doing with this UI :nana:

I'm currently using the latest release, and I'm noticing the text in the Clock window is large enough that it spills into the chat window to the left of it. Is there any way to resize this text? By the way, I play at 1280x1024.

Also, when trying to resize the chat window in attempt to resolve the issue mentioned above (I've removed the Channel tab you had since I don't have a use for it, which, in turn, can allow me to shrink the chat window a bit to compensate for the larger clock window text), I'm only abot to resize it from the left side. Is there any way to resize it from the other side so I dont have to shift the entire window once I get it sized to the way I'd like it?

Already oncluded fix in "hotfix" section but thank you for your post ;)

I completely revamped the knowledge books to all use the same file.
When you choose the type of knowledge book at install you're actually just changing the graphic.
You could delete the knowledge.xml file and reinstall.
I haven't had an issue with mine other than the fact the "first and Last" button activate areas are a bit small for my preference. (I'll be making them slightly bigger for next release or upload a hotfix given time.
Let me know if it doesn't resolve the issue and we can take a closer look at it.

I also run at 1280x1024
I revamped the window placements file and recommend you give it a try. (Option at install "Window Placements". It will place the file in your EverQuest II directory for use with the UISwitcher.)
It moves some windows around a bit and also removes window placments for no longer needed windows... Fetish stuff...

As for the chat resizing, I always recommend you right click and choose window settings and click on reset to default location and opacities.
It does just that but you won't lose your chat tab settings.
That will fix the little Sony bug of missing chat window at login and so forth.
Also fixes the resize locator for the right side being a little left of center which I imagine is the issue.

Text got slightly larger with last update as we became completely soft font compatible woot woot for those who like it. :)

Volume control
 

Perhaps I've missed it in reading through this thread, but is there a way to set the volume controls so that they activate at game-start? Right now all 3 come on at full-volume and I have to adjust every time. I'm sure it's something easy that I'm simply missing.

To the best of my knowledge there isn't a way to do this.
Since the Startbutton has the volume controls in it, it's initial settings are read.
I've been debating going back to the mute/half/full volume toggles to remedy this.
What do you think?
Would it be better to have the toggle buttons back and lose the sliders?
This "should" return it to the game remembering your logout settings.
