Ya, I'm having this issue now after LU#38. I had to revert to the default UI just to even get the game to start. Any idea what this is or if it will be patched??

EliteUI has been consistently released since LU11. I have no plan to update it for LU38. /sarcasm off

When I have some time I will get it done, author's don't usually release updates on the DAY of the LU. Especially compilations authors like me, our release dates are often based on other author's release dates. Have a little more patience than one day.

The reason I asked was because the few places I found any threads regarding this, from a couple different places on the net, there was no reply to the apparent problem. Some people have apparently had this problem prior to LU38, but I had not experienced it until today.
I was only wondering if this was related to something in the past. I don't expect the UIs to be patched within seconds of a LU.

I apologize for being snippy. With every LU every UI author gets bombarded with replies to threads, private messages, etc with whining and complaining; it eventually gets overwhelming and pushes ya over the edge lol.

That being said.

Ok so for whatever reason, the eq2ui_mainhud.xml header is throwing LON off.

Open your eq2ui_mainhud.xml into a text editor and edit the following segment.

ScrollExtent="1280,1024" Size="1280,1024"

Change the values to 1024,786...

ScrollExtent="1024,768" Size="1024,768"

That fixes the moving/minimizing/chopping off part of the window issue.

Remember to remove your eq2ui_inventory_inventory.xml from your EliteUI folder to default to the updated default inventory window, so you can utilize the new appearance tab.

Love this UI but so far no luck getting into game with LU38 tried the fix above but still get the same error. I'll keep watching.

Here's a little summary of a couple posts I found on these boards. Try this.

Deleting the file eq2ui_newcharscene2.xml from your UI directory should fix you up with this particular error.

1. Verify that you have deleted the eq2ui_newcharscene2.xml file and not the eq2ui_newcharscene.xml or eq2ui_newcharscene1.xml files if they exist. AND that it was removed from the Fetish directory and not the Default directory.

2. Remove any variation of eq2ui_newcharscene... that you might have in your Fetish directory.

3. Try removing eq2ui_loginscene.xml to see if it helps.

What I did...
 

What I did for a fix for LU38 to keep my EliteUI running was download the newly released Fetish Nightfall 9.1 package and replace the changed files in my UI/EliteUI directory. You can find a list of the changed and new files on the main page here on EQ2interface. I'm able to use the character select and the appearance tab on my inventory with no problems.

Note that not all of the changed files were there; I just replaced what I could, and I've put in about eight hours of gameplay with no crashes or noticable problems with gameplay thusfar.

Hope this helps keep everyone up and running, and give our author a bit more time. This complilation can't be an easy one to ochestrate.

I should have an update in the next few days. Looking to add a couple new features.

Patches have been uploaded.

P1: fixes the bank icon issue.
P2: Corrects the version of the Player window (correctly toggles the PlayerTarget window), as well as adds the Group abilities by Alethus.
P3: Adds the missing file for the group window by Alethus.

The full install package has been updated with both patches, if you are downloading EliteUI-092507p3 you do not need to worry about patching.

1st...I love this UI. I downloaded it for LU37. I've been hooked since then on it.

Problem... I'm very green to applying alternate UI's as I just mentioned w/ LU37. It is likely something that I am doing or something I'm missing. I don't understand the problem I'm having though. If I log in w/out going to character select...life is great! If i attempt to log into character select...I get the following error:

Everquest II has detected an unrecoverable error and must shut down.

Sounds like you haven't updated to the latest version? There is a LU38 version. Check that first and let me know.

Add a new patch to that list...

I am not sure if i am not doing something right or what but i am a warden and so the click to cure is important to me and i see the click to cure buttons but they are light and i dont show them getting brighter when my group gets hit so do i have to go edit files or something for this one to work corrrectly?
but i change UI alot i will find things that i dont like or someone comes out with a new UI i liek better and well have to say i am a picky person and so far you have come up with so much that i like you rock thanks so much

Hmmm, lemme check into this on my next outing. So far I have not had any other reports of the click-cures not working.

there is no click to cure on player window either or am i missing something it is just much easyer to see what cure you have to clear if it just lights up a little insted of going threw spells ya i know some people are spoiled but make it so much eaiser for us pvp'ers

The player window itself never had click-2-cures. However, the player/target/implied combo window does. I know that works, as I just used it last night lol.

I am getting reports that the new modified group window is not having the effect icons light up. I'll look into that this weekend when I have some time.

I can;t find the right file to add this too. Finding all the mainhud files but which one do i put it in? not finding the one that just says mainhud.xml
