Hi all. I'm a featured author now and have my own forum section here. It is probably easier to start posting in individual threads over there now. I made a separate sticky thread there for feature requests as well.
I do not have much time for supporting the UI at the moment but I just put together a new release in particular because I had put the wrong default XP window: Changelog 3.0.1 - 3.0.2 Fixed XP window variant 1 and remade it the default Changed In Combat display in Persona window and fixed target section title no longer being possible to hide Made hotkey bank selectors smaller. Added _ProfitUI_BottomBar (No MouseOver).zip for those that don't like the mouse-over effect. Use "frame" and "frame&titlebar" to manually switch the displayed stats in this variant. Updated default uisettings.ini for 1024x768 and 1280x1024 resolutions. Fixed some settings in the former file. The other default settings are not yet updated. Updated Milquetowst InfoCenter to v061115. |

First off thanks for the effort you put into keeping this UI updated. And secondly congratulations on becoming a featured author, an acknowledgement of the time you put in and long overdue.
Now on to my one concern with the new UI (3.02). Is it just me or is the "hotspot" of the mouse cursor now the base rather than the point. I am often dragging items from the square below the one I am aiming at in bags and the same happens on hotkeys unless I position the base over the square I want. Any advice appreciated. Sark. |
Sarkoris, I finally got to see my UI in game this weekend and not just in UIbuilder. ;) I have noticed the same with the mouse. I think SOE is calculating the position of the cursor incorrectly when you click on their new IconBank element (this is the UI element they introduced in GU29 for bags and hotbars). Nothing I can do about it, you should /bug it.

Never mind GM9. I went from 3.01 to 3.02 and like a good little UI mod installer I followed the instructions (shameless plug for people to do this before lodging bug / feedback).
The good news is that while doing this SOE must have corrected their cursor positioning bug as it now selects correctly. Sark. |
I've noticed that dragging icons in general has become harder since GU29. If I want to re-arrange my hotbars I have to click in the lower corner of an icon and drag diagonally toward the opposite corner - otherwise the icon just stays put. It's somewhat better in the bags but even there it's harder to "grab" icons than it was pre-GU29.
Mind you, it's not game breaking by any stretch of the imagination, but it adds an element of annoyance where there was none before hehe. And I doubt it has anything to do with Profit. |
noticed that when i tab to windowed mode and back again the bottom stat bar shifts consistently to the left and has to be realigned

Can anyone tell me how to get the bottom bar to stay on screen? It hides all the time until I mouseover, then when I mouseout it goes away again? thanks

labrat, I never had the bar moving to the left, usually it grows to the right when switching between windows and fullscreen. Somehow SOE is handling the resizing incorrectly. I provided resize buttons in the control center to workaround this. I may add replace buttons for those resultions.
clintyarborough, right click your bottom bar, go to windowsettings and make sure that the frame sliders are moved all to the right. |
I have a question about the shutdown.xml file and the camp to desktop/character select screen.
I'm noticing where one can logout to another character by selecting the character in the box below but I'm curious where in the Shutdown.xml file I can edit. I would love to edit this file to reflect my 10 characters and server so I can do a quicklog to another peep. Awesome Mod btw. NEVERMIND .... I finally found a post for this help topic ... TY |
Adding Tell Button
Would it be possable to add a Send Tell Button to the Frinds list window like in the Search for people LFG/LFW window

Your UI is excellent, but I have 2 minor problems with it:
1. Bottom most bar showing resists etc. does not show up at all until I minimize screen and then change back to full screen 2. Sometimes curing some effect by clicking icons next to group window changes my target in group in addition to casting cure. EDIT: Forgot to say that I use 1280x1024 with default setting files. |
The bottom bar issue is strange. Maybe right click and make sure the frame slider is maxed... I do not see how switching between windowed and fullscreen could have any influence however. :confused:
The target switching is possibly lag related. The code should be fine. Or maybe you click besides the icon, which I think will select the group member you are curing. |

did notice some things in 3.02 which i didnt had in the pre-EoF verions. Not sure if these should be classfied as bugs tho :P The number of a hotbar doesnt disappear when you change the style from frame+border to frame and to no frame. Doesnt look as slick as it was before and its easy to change the bar when trying to click the first skill. Secondly, but has been adressed by several others, dragging icon or stuff from bags is difficult now. Bad Soe :p it seems Could be that im just a fool and this is all stuff i can sort in-game (rather inexperienced with ui thingies besides dowloading the new version :P). Anyway only 2 minor things i noticed, but for the rest really loving it and keep up the awesome work :) |

Feature Request - Maintained spells window
Wondering if anyone would be up for modifying the maintained window.
Features I'm interested in: 1. Horizontal layout 2. Mouseover target names 3. Duration timing displayed on icon Example: http://www.eq2interface.com/download...fo.php?id=3726 The above mod is only partially functional today. The timer works but the mouse over names do not. They show random information that is not associated with the actual target the spell is on. -- lollygagger |
This is a WONDERFULL UI!! I have a small suggestion / annoyance that I was wondering if it would be hard to correct in the next update. All it really is, is a spacing issue. The info bar that has the HP Regen, Power Reg, etc . . . when you get a 3 digit number value in those fields, things get cramped and the bar just simply doesn't look clean and nice. Could you just allow a tad more space for those fields? That's it, pretty simple, it's just everything else is so clean and professional that this little thing looks out of place. Keep up the great work!!!

Yes, I noticed Mordran5565, also the XP window (except for apparently still being the wrong default variant) has some spacing issues now - no idea where they came from. Will be adjusted. Just like you I cannot stand these little quirks. ;)

GM9, this UI has provided me with a consistently better experience playing EQ2. It is superb, but I am a dumb end-user and I am having problems upgrading from 2.82 to 3.02. ;)
I have completely lost all of the frames and uniqueness that 2.82 provided for me, instead I have this nasty hybrid of the basic UI with very few features of Profit. I have read the installation directions for the 3.02 version and I am not entirely clear on what to do to fix this matter. I guess the questions I have are this: 1. Do I have to dump all of my 2.82 uisettings in order to get 3.02 to work properly? 2. If not, do I dump the .bak tag on the defaults (I use 1024x768 settings). <sigh> If anyone could help a non-programming geek, it would be much appreciated. I miss my cool frames <sniff>. JC |
