Ok let's start over...

This is the link to the version I have. If you download that, it should work the way I was explaining. That is V1.8c, so try that out.

After downloading that, you should be able to just follow the directions I gave (following the picture I provided as well) to correctly install the UI. Or as Profit said, just extract the folder into your MAIN EverQuest II folder.

If there is an upgrade 1.8d that Profit provided as an attachment here, I haven't used it, but I will look for it.

Ok just found it. I will have a look at those files, but it seems to me that you guys downloaded the update-only patch. Download the whole first attachment (ProfiUI1.8d) and try that. Without the core files, the UI won't run correctly.

Well I re-installed the "d" version and extracted it directly to the everquest folder having it "overwrite all" and it works perfectly now. I had saved my eq2.ini and the <Servername_charactername.ini> file and recopied them after the upgrade and my settings were the same as before the upgrade. Exp meter is dotted now and I can see all of it :-)

Also, I no longer get that red text saying some files were not compatable.

Hey profit, donno if you knowticed it but ever since monday's patch for some reasion the chat windows no longer have a (frame and titlebar) option... also the close buttion is missing... i havn't messed with that file and i been running 1.8d since release i will try replaceing the chat window with a fresh one from the .zip when i get home (currently in class) see if that makes a difference (just thought i let ya know of a weird bug i found)

Worked out what the problem was, thought I'd better get it sorted incase it caused more trouble later. After a bit of testing I proved it was Mook's Chat while Zoning mod .. once I removed that I could see the font resize window fine. :nana: :nana: :nana:

Can't close new chat windows
 

When I right click on the window there is no option to "Close Window" nor is there a "X" at the top right corner to close it. The only options I have in the Window settings are "Frame only" and "None". Neither setting give me the option to close a new chat window..

Any suggestions please?

Not sure if this is a LU17 thing or a Profit 1.8d thing, but lately I cannot bring up my journal quest helper with alt-j.

Any ideas?

Well I got my wife into the UI and she loves it. Unfortunately while she was setting things up she made a few chat windows and now can't close them. She (And I) just assumed we could close them on the fly..

Also, There are situations when I will make a new chat windows but it is tempory so I then close them when I do not need them anymore.. The main reason I love this UI is the fact that there is soooo much viewing area. I normally only have two chat windows up and the others are temporary because If I leave them up, thats less viewing area I have and I absolutely hate using tabs..

It would be great if you can upload a file that we can copy into the Profit18 dir that will atleast allow us to close the window by right clicking on it and having the "Close Window" option there.. or the "X" at the top right corner..

Whatever you prefer..

Not sure if i missed it somewhere, but is there a way to put the numbers onto the hotbars so that i can use the keyboards quilckly for them????

To get the hotbar with the info you have to right click the hotbar then click on windows settings and set the Frame and Title to frame and titlebar.

Donno if u saw my post on the same subject, but I know i had accidentally right clicked and clicked new chat window and for some reasion it wasn't able to drag the new window into a existing one to get rid of it... my sugestion is if u wanna get rid of the X and close window option could you just put them on there own toggle since u removed hte frame and titlebar option.... you could re add that option and make it so it just toggles the X on and off with titlebar?

Hello! I fell in love with this UI some time ago. As for now, my major issue is the chat window invasion: every time i log into the game i see black chat windows, and no way to close them (no X button). Only workaround was to pull them to the main chat windows, and then they "magically" become tabs, wich i can close; but that's very annoying to do every time i log in the game. Also, i read that there will be major changes with the LU actually on the Test Server... (especially for the map, wich will show the quest givers)... planning on updates? Keep up the good work. ;)

I tried dragging the windows into the main chat window and i did get tabs which was good but when I went to remove them, it just put the windows back out on the desktop area.

Hopefully Profit will hook us up with the "X" on the top right corner of new chat windows or the "Close Window" option when right clicking a window..

I have to agree.. the UI definatly is far and beyond any I hvae used in the past :-)

Hi. I really enjoy this UI. I have one question though? I have opened another chat window and I now am unable to get rid of it. How can I close any chat windows I no longer need? Thanks.

For now drag the windows into your main chat window. That will turn them inti tabs. I was unable to remove thetabs though : (

Hopefully Profit will login and tell us he made it so we can close new chat windows.. That would rock!!

Well I tried this and it worked. I now have the "X" on the top right corner. I just had to set it to "Frame and Titlebar" in the window settings. I copied it from the 1.8c archive..

Just simply click on the mapupdater executable and it will update your maps for you.. Make sure you are using the latest version.. I think it was included in the archive but not 100% sure..

you chould also install eqmap then drop profit into the folder that is made making sure not to copy over the files in there

I don't seem to get my pet-window up though, anyone had problems with this?

Nother thing I noticed is that I am unable to find the LFG/LFW tool. Anyone know how to brign it up into the viewing area?

Somehow I have two windows that don't seem to become tabs if I drag them over another chat window. They just cover up the chat window I am trying to drop them in. I did manage to get them all tabbed once and remove the unused tabs from there, but upon logging out of EQ2 and back in the windows were back in my main screen. I just can't seem to get rid of these two chat windows. I may just reload the UI and perhaps trying using the file from 1.8c that you mentioned earlier. Thanks for the assistance.
