It's a known SOE bug thats has been in the game from release. There isn't any thing you can do about it but exit the game and come back.

Sorry to bug you again, but I also noticed that there are no scroll bars on the chat windows. If i click on the chat bar and get the cursor....I can page up and down but it seems to jump up or down 3 pages. Once again is there something i am doing wrong or is there a setting I need to change? Thx in advance

Do you mean that it happens no matter what UI you use? I'm curious because I've never seen it with the default UI, and this is the only custom UI I've ever used with EQ2.

Yes it happens to EVERY UI that modifies the color scheme of progress bards.

Mouse wheel works wonders. The scroll bar takes up space and resources to render.

Unusual issue with update
 

I have been using the ExtremeUI for quite some time and LOVE IT! Now to my issue. I have been away from EQ2 for a couple of months or so and noticed a problem with my Inv. window when I logged back in. Had to update the UI. No problem. Went to the control panel and selected update and was taken to the eq2interface page with the new updated download. No problem. Ran the download from the site, chose my eq2 directory and finished the install. This is where it got wrong. It began to update my EQ configuration (I play EQ as well). Then launched EQ, which began to have to rebuild because of the files that were changed by the install. I uninstalled Extreme and tried again with the same result. I made sure I had the right path to EQ2 folder selected. Once again I uninstalled as well as uninstalling the original ExtremeUI installation I had loaded already. Ran the install again after saving the download to my desktop, which is where I ran it from this time. Same result. It is tapping into my EQ, not EQ2. Now as far as my file setup it is this: I have my Sony Folder in Program Files. Inside the Sony Folder are my EQ files, not in an EQ Folder but loose in Sony Folder. Also inside the Sony Folder is my EQ2 Folder. hope I made this clear. Is there some reason for this install issue that has to do with the setup of the Sony Folder? If you need clarification on anything please tell me. I really need to figure this out as this is the best UI I have used to date. Thanks in advance for any help.

Ok so I just have 2 issues to mention here. First I like the quiklog but when I set it up I noticed that on one of my toons I had hit a wrong letter and so I had to go back to the aucp and change it..... this is where my issue comes, when I opened my aucp and went to the quiklog to change the one toons name, None of them were there and I hade to redo them all. Is there no saveing this setting so I dont have to change it every time I make a new toon or something ?

Second I am still only seeing half of the add button when I add a new collection to my collections. I can still work with just half the add button, but is there a fix to this ?

Yes I did install the latest updates and even updated before writing this message.

It shouldn't matter where your EQ2 is installed. Once you tell it where eq2 is it looks for the UI folder and then installs every thing in \UI\eXtreme\. If it don't find the UI folder it's not going to install. If it finds 2 UI folders its not going to install.

I don't see how it could be even messing with eq1 even if it did somehow install it there it would put all the files in a directory called eXtreme and that wouldn't make your eq have to rebuild. Forther more it can't even run eq as it is programed to run everquest2.exe or eq2.exe not everquest.exe or eq.exe. So it is impossible for it to run eq unless you renamed the file names.

EDIT:
Well it could run EQ if you added it to one of the two run additional apps to run.

Make sure aucp_QuickCharSwitch.xml is in your exclude list or it will get updated ever time you run the AUCP.

for the add button I'm almost 100% that is fixed I'll look at it again here in a bit. Make sure that isn't on your exclude list and isnt' getting updated.

Ahhhh. I get it. So if you leave the color scheme alone (i.e. as the default UI has it), then there's no problem. But if you change it, this occurs. I get it. Hmmm. Think it's time to write SOE a letter (like it'll do any good). Thanks for the explanation, Landiin.

BTW, even with this little quirk, this is an awesome UI and I love it!

And if you use the notes feature, make sure to exclude aucp_Notes.xml. Took me 3 days to figure this out. LOL.

That is weird. I haven't renamed any files at all but the eq1 patcher started running after the install. I realize it should no be possible but it is exactly what happened. all the Extreme stuff was installed into the EQ2 folder though. I am sure that is what happened because I now have to wait for eq1 to rebuild next time I want to log in. But as far as resolving the issue, I did this: I took all the files in my sony folder and put them in a folder marked eq. then downloaded and set the path to the eqII folder and it was successful. burying those files in a folder is the only change I made but it worked fine. Thanks for the help.

Ahh ok thanx alot you two thats helps a bunch, as for the add buttons I dunno, I run the aucp everyday before I logg in to the game.

Hey, how do you go back to the old EQ UI if wanted or swich to another to explore a little bit?

With out uninstalling eXtreme:

• while in game type /loadui
• To load the game with the default UI: delete the file eq2.ini in the main eq2 directory

Start->Programe Files->eXtreme->Uninstall eXtreme

noticed again a unable to use inventory with the latest update, tried your earlier suggestion of changing version to 2.0.0 in the inventory file, but it didnt work, probably because that was older fix, is there a quick fix until update?

I just got done playing and my inventory worked fine. I patched just to make sure I didn't change any thing locally and no files where updated, so the most current inventory should be on the update server.

Run the AUCP and it should update the UI if you have any outdated files. Also make sure you don't have eq2ui_inventory_inventory.xml in the exclude list.

sorry for the dumb question, but how do i get the update, on the aucp, when i hit the update extreme, it loads up internet explorer at your download page, all it seems to update isthe eqmap2 ....sorry, not too program savy :)
also when installed i never got the question what files to exclude ( i don't think it applies since i have no other modified files or other add-ons)

i may have figured out the problem, my updater keeps stalling before fully loading, so i am restarting it all

AUCP update process
 

When you first run the AUCP the AUCP loader will check for updates to the AUCP. It looks like the pic below



If there are any updates to the AUCP they will be applied while this window is up. Once the loader is done, it will the run the AUCP. The AUCP looks like the pic below



If you get this far, then the AUCP is fully installed and functioning correctly. There are times when the update will hang and you will need to close out of the AUCP and rerun it. The AUCP will start up at the file that it was hung on so you will not have to start over.

In PvP, knowing the levels of the guys you are fighting is very important and a need quick kind of thing. In the default UI, there is a bubble next to thier name with thier level, something like that would rule

I'm so sorry, you are correct. I don't play on a PvP server so I often forget about you guys needs. I'll will add that back into the simple con display.

Disappearing chat window
 

When I first log in (to any of my characters) the main chat window is gone. By main I mean the one with the "Main", "Combat", "Heals" tabs, etc. Sometimes, hailing an NPC will bring it back up. If I receive a tell, it always pops back up. The window itself is locked (as are all the rest of the windows).

Any ideas?

This isn't any thing to do with the UI. You char_uisettings.ini file has been corrupted. You can either delete it and remake it, go into the AUCP and select one from the list or hit enter ever time you load the game for the 1st time.

A couple "bugs" I ran into.
 

First let me say, please forgive me if I have repeated anything that has been spoken about or addressed. Second, I would like to commend you on a great UI. I've been using it for about 2 weeks now, and I really like it.

Now on to the problems I have...

#1) When I am crafting, I change the level bar to show my crafting level. I am a level 65 Alchemist but it shows me as a Scholar. Is there something I can do to fix this?

#2) Again, in crafting, when you right-click on the item you want to make and then click on "Examine Item" the window pops up to show you what you need to make it. When you click on the "O" on the upper right corner, instead of bringing up the window properties box, it does nothing. This problem only happens on this particular window.

#3) In the broker window, under the SOE UI, you can hold down the control key and purchase a stack of what ever it is you are buying. Likewise, on the consignment part of the broker window, you can hold the control key to retrieve a stack of items you have in your broker containers. In ExtremeUI, you cannot do that. Holding down control still yields only one of the item.

I know they're rather trivial, but I still wanted to at least bring it to your attention.
