Btw possiblity to make quest window not to wide. Would be alot prettyer and make room for a chat window.

Move the stats a bit closer and take out 30% of window.

This requires several code changes in order to get the ammo window to be visable everytime you log in. If you don't want either of them, delete the eq2ui_mainhud_clock.xml file from your custom ui directory. Otherwise, just hide it behind the group window or something until I can change the code.

Perdition, first off I wanna say, GREAT skinning of the UI. I love the way it's set up. However I noticed some graphical problems with the bars. On my screen the top hotbar, name window, and EQ2 button both have a grey lining along the top *the line that shows when frames are enabled and makes the window look more 3d*. The other windows have it as a silver lining, so it looks mismatched.

Also where it says 'Status" to show status points, on my UI it shows it as "Statut". Not sure if this is a misspelling or what, but I just happened to notice it.

I haven't been able to take a screenshot yet, when I get a chance I'll make one up.

Anyways. Good work. :D

Okay, there uploaded. If you notice, where it says "Status" it says "Statut"

And the lining that runs along the top of the bottom chat changes color when it gets over the EQ2 button and player window, then changes into the lighter grey for the target window, but goes back to a dull grey over the hotbar.

Just a side note, it would make the whole UI 'complete' if the day/night indicator could be skinned as well. Kind of like a corner piece connecting the quest/money window to the secondary chat window, could even be made in a similar way to how Aalwein has the UI with the punched out holes and the item simply placed into the hole. Just throwin out an idea, the UI is excellent as it is right now. :D

Thanks for this very constructive feedback :)

1) Statut is the French word and seems not automatically translated as the other so I will put back Status.

2) In fact the top border is the same for all window and I do not have found for now why it looks different on different window, I will still looks on it to find a solution.

3) You are right and it will look better with a skinned clock, I do not really know where to put it but both of your idears are good , I do not have any tool to modify the DDS file, but If it does not disturb too much Aalwein, I will ask him if he can make an hole in the top UI for the clock at the same place where he put the ammo for the regular Tyejae Steel :)

Ps: in your screenshot it seems that you forgot to make the backdrop visible for the Journal active quest and it's why the journal text seems not centered ;)

Yea I figured it was simply a translation problem after looking through your other screenshots, and I also assumed that there would be a .dds problem because I certainly have not found a way to bring up or edit the images either.

And thanks for telling me about the journal, I didn't even notice that. ha! :nana:

It's seems that your UI is trying to use both con version at the same time.

Have you try to set the con version as it seems that he cannot decide and then use both ?

After more reflexion I will try to combine the following request, I have maybe some idear to solve them all in one time with letting the choice for all users.

Skinned Clock
Smaller active quest then bigger chat
Tradeskill experience.

It all sounds good. :)

I tried fixing my chat journal, but the problem is that the journal itself won't fit into the skin provided. The skin provided is what the group listing used to sit in, and the actual journal box is a bit bigger than the skin box. I tried resizing and changing frames and that made it look wierd. Again, not a big problem, just something I happened to notice, and also. the background is set to visable in the screenshot. I'll mess with it tomarrow and see if I can fix it myself. I didn't get a chance to fiddle with resizing yet. I totally forgot about it. :p

Not sure if you can see it, but in the screenshot I have two quest items up at once, the second one there is a picture of a key under it, but since the journal box is bigger by default than the skin, the key actually goes outside the skin's box. :cool:

Hello Khandor :)

The BACKDROP on your screen is not visible and it's why it does not fit with your journal quest, the journal quest is not well sized too because you have the scroll bar on your coin. There is two possibility for the BACKDROP, or he's not set to be visible in the journal quest window options, or you have the letter box on (letter box disbale automatically the backdrop.

Anyway in the next release all this problem of backdrop and size will be fiexd automatically :)

Hello :)

I have modified the clock window and the journal active quest , they are customizable to make different types of UI with different infos and different secondary chat. (clock,coin,tradeskill exp)

I have also finally corrected the grey border and they are all looking the same now. The statut is back with status using english language.

If those new modification are ok for you I Will upload the new version V3A.

Here are some examples to show you the new modification.

I am really enjoying your UI...

I'm curious if you could put the ingame time displayed like the realtime clock, as well as the night/day globe?

...

Something I noticed that is an issue, is that gear/items you can't use are very hard to note...as well as attuned items.

The black backround does look better then the default UI...but not really being able to see what is useable by that character, and what is or isn't attuned, is annoying :/

I'd like to suggest perhaps a red outline on the inventory box for not useable...and a blue outline (since attuned shows blue by default) for attuned items.

I love what you are doing to this ui (and use steel for all my toons) but i was wondering..is your re-skinning workable on all resolutions or no? I ask because what made me happy was that steel was made with 1024x768 in mind, but i wasn't sure if you ran it the same.

V3A update has been submitted and is waiting for approval ;)

Cutanea : Mine has been designed for 1280*1024, but being all movable pieces you can try to put them in a way where it will fit your needs, but I cannot guaranti the result.

Ps: In game time has been added under Night/day orb.
Ps2: Black bacrground for inventory icon has been removed till I will find a way to have the red busy/unsable color.

Hey Perdition,

How were you able to set your hotbar under the target implied not to resize everytime? I tried to mimic (hehe) the way to put your UI. Just the dam hotbar leaving a gap at the right.

I'm sure it's soooo simple that I overlooked something.

Hello Martinus :)

The hotkey bar will have an autosize so you have to put it first, after that you have to put the implied target to fit correctly, knowing that you can overlap on right and left for almost 4 millimeter on each side. Don't forget that the player window is resizable to make the final adjustment.

Anyway I will post an INI file in some hours for you to be able to set the UI configuration as mine just renaming it with your own server/charactername ;)

I got mine set up like yours without a problem, and I love the mod. Everything is working perfectly fine. It's a bummer that the chat in the upper left corner has to be shrunken so I can have that other exp bar, but that's okay. sacrifices must be made at times. Even then it's only my combat display. heh, so it's not like it's THAT important.

Love the UI, best thing out there. :). You all did great. :nana:

It could be cool to have both exp bar with a greater upper right window(half more size should be enough I think) than now but I do not find any other way for now to make it fit better, if you have any idear don"t hesitate :)

Hey all. After discussing dificulties Aalweine was having intigrating Fetish5wayInventory with TyeJae Steel, I played with it a bit and decided to post this here to help anyone else doing this.

To install both do the following...
1) Install TyeJae Steel.
2) Install everything from Fetish5wayInventory EXCEPT files begining with "Font...".
3) Make sure fetish_widgets.tga is in the images directory.
4) Install the attached eq2ui_ImageStyles.xml file.

Note: future versions of either mod may change this, but currently only the ImageStyles file is common to both mods. The Fetish mod adds 6 styles (18 lines of code) that must be merged with TyeJae's styles. The attached file is that, TyeJae's code plus 18 lines of Fetish code added to the top.

You may need to do this merger yourself once either mod is updated. Use Notepad to do the copy/paste. Other apps are likely to corrupt the file on save.

Perdi, I reformatted my HD yesterday and haven't reinstalled all my tools yet. Soon as I do, I'll take a look at the clock issue.

Heh, first of all, I can confirm that Zonx is correct on fixing the fetishsway inventory. If I known there was a problem I would have told you guys. I had problems in the past with the fetish sway items and such and I figured out before the TyeJae Steel UI came out that to fix it you need to delete the font files and imagestyles files. :o


Perdition: Well, the only way I could think of to fix it would be to have a type of double exp bar where the adventure exp is. I don't really think it's possible, but if the adventure exp bar could be brought up a little bit and perhaps that particular skin longer horizontally to include both the adventure EXP and the crafting EXP, then you would be able to have the clock all by itself.

Or, you could even have it where the adventure EXP is an attachment to the bottom of the stat bar underneath the quest journal *similar to how the older target window was* and place the crafting exp where the adventure exp is now. Then you'd have the adventure exp in the center, attached to the upper stats bar, and the crafting exp on the left hand side. Since adventure exp is a bit more important game wise, this makes it so people will have the main exp bar right in front of them, yet out of the playing area, and the crafting exp over to the side.

Also what you could do if you managed to do that, is if you look at my previous screenshot, I got the clock in the corner next to the group window/chat window there. The clock could be skinned as an angle piece and moved to the upper right just a very small bit, and then you'd have the clock as an angle piece that makes the skin connect by having a connector between the journal/stat window and the chat window, instead of having just a right angle corner between the two.

Yeesh, what a mouthfull. lol

Anyways, just a few thoughts and whatnot. I know nothing of xml, so I don't know what's possible and what isn't.

@Khandor: Having both exp bar on the same panel will not fit even if I resize the bar... the class , level and percentage are taking too much places and it will be ugly.
I like the "target" idea for adventure exp as it can looks cool and that I think I can make it enable or not depending of what users want, so it will not remove current customization type but will add a new one :)

I will work on that ;)

[edit] For the clock angle I don't think that I will be able to do it because even if the graphics are present (in one way) I will not be able to take a piece that will not be a square, and unfortunalty I do not have any tool to modify DDS file.

nono, that's perfect. I wasn't even sure if it was possible to begin with. That's kind of what I meant, it was hard to explain in words about the angle. I was thinking about how TyeJae has angles on the UI, just copy something like those and put it there, so it can be square, but it'll have dead space.

But what you got looks perfect. This way the UI flows more and doesn't have a floating object, plus it creates more space for the extra chat window as well. With that corner piece, it makes the chat window look more like part of the UI, instead of having the journal/exp parts flowing and looking like one and then suddenly this huge block chat window that doesn't look like it belongs.

Hello All :)

I have modified the Bottom UI as we speak with khandor but after testing I think it's a little to big , so I decide to do an entire remake of the top to have a smaller size with new style that make also the secondary chat completly implemented in the top.

So what do you prefer? Big or small ?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, Im new tot he Custom UI world. I love this Interface, I have DL'd v2 and cant imagin playing with anything else. One thing I did notice was that I do not have a "Target" window. I do see that there is a target window in v1.

Is there something I'm doing wrong? Has the "Target" been removed from V2? Is there something I can do to add the target windowlike a "ctl+t" or something like that? Love V2 but want to see the target like in V1.

Any help would be appriciated...

Aalwein the last update yesterday seriousy screwed my target/implied target windows. It was working just fine until the update but as of yesterday the yellow mobs appear as green encounters in the target window and the target's health percentage becomes a smudge when it drops below 25%. Any info on when you will be able to fix this? :)
