ive had to revert to a crapy UI cos yours hasnt been working with the new quest helper!

Idea with the pet window is (if you actualy have a pet) Its health and power bars appear in the middle of yours.... If you turn the frame on for the pet window the pets health and power in % will appear in the left of the pet window and the pet health and power over the top of yours will dissapear...

Not properly tested as yet..

Only thing is the pets health is a bit hard to see when its at 100% but I didnt see that as being much of a problem.... I have been playing with my little toon with a pet and found it oks

Oks had a bit of a re-thinky here !!

The frames are on show so i can line the windows up... but I think they look oks ?
In the SS its only the bottom windows that are using a background the top ones are transparent and make use of the letterbox, As it does improve FPS well for me anyways...

So I am thinking, skin the letterbox area insted and have all windows with the background or tranparent or not ... etc etc

Best part here is I got the damn group window down to 30 pixels in hight :nana:

I still have some ideas left on this... But have been playing the game with it to see how it all comes together so to speak ... ie usability ... Good so far!...

I think I have gained about 90pixels in play area without looseing much of anything,

Well just look at the SS and gimmie some feedback lol...

P.S thanks to my bud Nightmare who held captive some wench, he was grouped with in able for me to test the group window after I had made some tweaks to it ;) .... He never did give her phone number lol :p

oh also iv been skinning the previous graphics and things seem to be chopped left and right, like the start button, it doesnt fit in with the original perdigraphics? its like its been taken from the left and put in the middle?

how do i create a template of this new idea you have had for the ui so i can skin it?

oh and yeah skinning the letterbox is a good idea, sooo how do i do that then lol

I have no idea, but kudos to laffs if he can.

Some small observations, maainly be bing picky i guess:

1 || Group window looks good, but I would like to see some sort of seperation tween the health and the power. Maybe also create "solid" gradient version of the group windows too

2 || I still think that start button is way too dang big, and the clock too

3 || Looks like that stats are split into two seperat windows, i'd still like to see them in one page together, with maybe a way for multiformat Also, looks like the stats have way too much space tween them (max is only 3 digits) whereas the saves ("resists") have too little space (at least 4 digits)

4 || If you use the mook Hotbars( or maybe ger's), you could prolly save some space also.

5 || I'd like to see what this looks like using TyeJae;s old steel skin, or even your alt perdition version.

Well the file you need to alter to skin the letterbox is this

images/window_elements_background.dds

Its style is called background_black not sure if any other windows use this file but it dont realy matter if they do as all windows are custom anyways.

Reason your having problems skinning the perdition style windows is all the backgrounds are offset and quite a lot bigger than the actual windows some lined left some right some center the reson behind this was to match the marble pattern up properly with whatever view you decided to use... So it works but not very modder friendly lol

I am going to make a new frame and hole for the windows that use it also like the player window etc probably somthing silver maybe, Dunno will see how it turns out I guess.

There is going to be a lot of redundant image files and stuff in this UI that I need to sort out and remove refs to them before I can post a zip (next day or so)

Firstly, sorry I had to cut our convo short lastnight, They made me MT and was expecting pulls all the damn time lol so was hard to give you much response :p

Oks back to this,

1. It was soild to start with but was too in yer face lol.. Been thinking about puttin them in a frame, still work to do on this the SS you see is only beta ver 2

2. If you get as drunk as I do when playing Eq2 then you would know why they are big Hehehe ;)

3. Yes they are across 2 windows due to it being that way to start with and also its hard to get them all in one window without hight problems or fonts being to small..... Also I know its messy it needs sorting out, Its on the todo list lol

4. Size problems again if I did that I would need to alter 3 other windows to make it fit again.

5. It looks better with those skins... Hence the need to make a new frame..

Dont have time to play with this at the moment .. anyone care to make a .dds up for me please it just needs a solid rectangle along the top and a small box with a transparent hole in the center and corners on it in a different color....
