I really have no idea why it crashes for you and so far you seem to be the only one where that is happening. :o

• Have you customized and of the preset files, the level ranges, anything?
• Are you playing on a localized server or on an English language server?
• Does it really crash once you open the window or only when you take specific action?
• Does it crash every time?
• Does it also crash if you open the broker window via the control center, i.e. while you are not at a broker?

first time i install a custom ui, looks good... plenty of info that's really helpfull..

however, i have two chars stuck in zoning now when i logon... i just tweaked every single setting i wanted in the ui, and would hate to have to remove it to get them 'un'stuck...
both chars are stuck zoning into a city area, or instance... login - borks up and boots me to char select...

any idea's?

EDIT: Apparently this was a server side issue, all is working perfect now :)

3 questions:
 

1) bottom stats bar is gone.. how do i get it back?
2) on the 4 hotkeys bars at the bottom, the left side has the up and down arrows for cycling through hotkey bars 1-10. is ther eany way to disable those up and down arrows?
3) how can i get eq2maps to work at the same time?

I cannot get this ui to work. I follow instructions and its easy to follow but nothing is working, its like its just taken the normal ui, stretched it all and gave up. Im not computer illeterate so i have backups of the standard ui and can just go back to that but im really questioning why this isnt working for me. Heres a screenshot so you can see.



As you can see no bar along the bottom or top showing stats and such, health bar is just stretched normal ui version instead of showing % etc. Whats going on here?

Seems like you forgot to copy in the eq2.ini file included. Try that if you didn't

Raid Window
 

Unless I missed the fix, I still have raid window issues, tried last night to move people around in Raid, and crashed horribly. If I missed it, please let me know, I tried redownloading the raid window from the newest release, in hopes it was a solution. No go there, still crash issues. I have always been a huge fan of Profit, and aren't going to move away from it because of one little issue, but please let me know if you have any ideas.

I tried installing another modded raid window in hopes of solving the issue, but that didn't help.

For informations sake, I installed Modded raid window by Crozs but it never even appeared on my screen when Alt + R was pushed, so I deleted it also. Any help in this matter would be appreciated gm9, and again, I thank you for a phenomenal UI. I look forward to ANYONE's help here, and you all have a nice day. :D

tayl0r, you can toggle the stats bar via right click->windowsettings->frame & titlebar. However, for some people the uisettings.ini becomes corrupted and the window is completely moved off-screen. In that case, deleting the uisettings and loading the defaults will bring the bar back. The hotbar arrow keys are also controlled via the frame & titlebar options. And what problem are you having with EQ2MAP? Just installing it into your ProfitUI directory is all that is needed.

Anarissa, there is a version of my raid window that seems to work, but is currently only available on the forum in this post. This version has some cosmetic issues. A final version will be in the next release.

I will give this a try next raid, and I very much appreciate the quick response. That is what makes this one of the best UI's out there, and it will continue to be.

I apologize for what I'm about to ask if its already been answered somewhere in the forums, but is ther a way to change the chat window back to the orignal SOE one-tab chat window?

I apologize for the edit in the last post cuz what i did didn't fix it, so how do i remove the extra chat tabs in the chat window?

I use profit ui with the 1600x1200 settings and the last digit of norrath and earth time get cut off. I "fix" this by changing the alignment from center to left. But as i have to do this with every version of profit ui i thought i report it here. I think i should also mention that i am from germany, as date/time might be used in a localised form... Just a minor issue really...

mben2006, just select the tab you want to remove, right click and select "remove tab". ;) On the remaining tab, go to "chat options" and select which chat types you want to display there (in your case all).

heketon, this problem exists only on German (and maybe other localized) installations. However, I have already included a special setting to work around this. Just right click the clock, select window settings and choose "frame & titlebar". No need to edit any files. :)

Ok, thanks. I got that all cleared now anyways. I found the "remove tab" part before ya posted, but thanks. This is a good UI, keep it alive. :)

New pc can not get this UI working
 

I use this UI on my 2 other pcs. I install EQ2 and all of the expansions. I also then install the eq2map program. I downloaded the UI and added the folder labelled ProfitUI (size 30.7 MB (32,262,771 bytes) in my eq2 UI folder. I start the game via the eq2map program and under option i select the profit UI. I log into the game and it goes straight to the default UI. The monitor is a viewsonic 19inch widescreen and is in 1440x900 reso if that helps. What Am i doing wrong? I even took the UI folder which was working on another PC and copy pasted it to my new oc and it still does not work

Just extract the ProfitUI .zip into your Everquest 2 directory and you are all set. If you insist on doing it your way (and it sounds complicated), I would think that you forgot to copy the eq2.ini.

I'll give that a shot when I get home tonight from work. I am hoping it as simple as that because I can not play without your UI

Ok i tried to find a solution to my problem but was unable to find one, perhaps just didnt look hard enough, but any way heres my issue.

Both me and my dad play this game and like to listen to itunes while we play. Resently we havent been able to do this because the music is sped up and jumps strangly. My dad thinks that this ui mod caused it cause for him the problem started when the ui was installed. For me i dont know if the ui was installed around the issue started.
I know for sure the issue is something with eq2 because as soon as i exit the game the music will work just fine, same before i start eq2. I've reinstalled itunes as well as my sound drivers but have yet to find a solution.
I thought i would take a chance and see what you guys would suggest for me.

Sounds like your computer does not have enough processing power left to run iTunes while you are in the game (understandably, mine does not even have enough power to run the game well. ;)). Maybe turn down the graphics settings a bit and go into full screen mode. And make sure that the in-game music is turned off.

Otherwise just rename your eq2.ini in your Everquest 2 folder to go back to the Default UI if you think my UI is the reason.

The issue is not with EQ2. It is with itunes 7.0 for Windows. There are various,well documented bugs associated with this program including music stuttering and ridiculous amounts of system resource hogging. iTunes 7.0 does not play well with other programs, that is why you have these issues when EQ2 is running, and are fine when it's not. You can try reverting back to iTunes 6.x and see if that fixes your problem, but some iPods won't interact with any iTunes version below 7.0, so just an FYI. There are a myriad of other options to try resolving this issue without reverting - none have worked for me but you might wanna google a bit and see if any solutions work for you.

I unzipped the file to:

C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II\UI

I open eq2 with the eq2map program choose ProfitUI as the UI directory and it still loads up the default UI. Please help. Thanks

Moving Hotbars
 

Hi all - i've recently run into the problem that i cannot move any of my hotbars. i have them all Unlocked and Click Through disabled and cannot get any of them to move. anyone else encounter this problem? it's probably something stupid .. but i'm at a loss atm. thank you all.

Is it just me or does the iPod's bring a lot of hassle? They're cranky about what software you use, what file format you use blablabla. Why can't they just add it as a removable HD and spare us all the silly frills?
