Attention German Linux Users
Quote:
Could your fans that are having problems with the German verson possably be running Linux? There is an existing problem with the German version of Opera (not the talk show host) ver 8.5 and before that limits XML text files. This has been corrected in Opera v9.0, they can find some info here http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=67025 Hope this helps some of your fans.. BTW great mod and no problems with it so far ( knocks on a piece of ebony) :nana: ;) :nana: Darn it, you updated again... grrrr :p |
Im sure this has been asked before , but I'll be "that guy" and ask again haha. I downloaded the most recent version of info center and the window pops up fine in game... all categories are there but there is nothing written in any of em. It seems like maybe i dont have the files with data to fill the window in right place, any ideas... Thanks :)
|
Sad but true
Again, this is the big noob...I dont even know how to "unzip" the files! all I did was save the thing in a folder and now im stuck  heeelp!
|
Unzip
right click and you should see the windows zip feature allowing you to unzip it, or you need to add something like pkzip, winrar or some other compression technique prgram. then right click an select unzip. good luck!
|
gerr!
For some reason I cant figure this out! I dunno what those window zip programs are or how to get them but I right clicked the flies and it didnt have an unzip option. post if u have any more info on this for a noob! :nana:
|
if you're not using XP, you won't get the built-in zip/unzip... i don't think w2k nor win9x came with it...
i would suggest picking up a shareware copy of WinRAR from www.rarlab.com since it is an excellent compression/decompression tool. here's a quick step-by-step for you.. 1. download and install winrar from www.rarlab.com 2. make sure the milquetowst info center.zip file is in your custom UI directory or folder 3. right click on milquetowst info center.zip, select the WinRAR submenu, and choose Extract Here. ![]() hope this helps :) |

hey again deb... i'm retarded and thought this was the eXtreme market mod and not infocenter lol.. eXtreme got a ninja update, but not infocenter. sorry about the confusion... you could just edit the files yourself for now... hope darryll sees this soon, though chances are he'll update it when GU27 hits live.

Harvest Info Corrections
I LOVE this mod. It is essential to my play.
But (there is always a but), I noticed recently, when I was micro-checking the harvest list, a couple of things needing correction. There are still acorns listed in the Tier 3 stuff, and they were removed. The Tier 6 common pelt is Stonehide, not Boiled. In Tier 5, Strange Black Ore should be listed with the rares. Thanks so much for taking the time to keep this wonderful resource working. We all appreciate it, even though we may not say so often, or loudly, enough. :) :nana: :nana: :nana: |
The Info Center's finally been updated again. Hopefully, I'll actually get back to playing again soon! :P

I love, love, love this UI! My entire guild is quickly becoming addicted! :nana:
I notice the latest version has deleted the TIWIKE section - is this a bad time to note that I've been overhauling the entire thing for an update? Would you be interested in having the updated files? There's a couple things I need to verify, but most of them are done. |

first, i'd just like to say i absolutely love this mod, but for me there is just 1 thing missing.
could there possibly be a section added for achievements, with a listing for exploration points and a listing for named mobs? i've searched all over the net for something like this, even something simple like an excel sheet but as yet haven't found anything. i know it would be a lot of work, but it would be fantastic if it could be added |
More updates!
I updated the "Game Update" notes to GU28, even though it really didn't seem (to me, anyway) that GU28 contained anything especially noteworthy, except perhaps for the auto-AFK option. :P I restored the "Things I Wish I'd Known Earlier" files, since they've all been updated by "Lodrelhai." They can now be found as a submenu under the "Misc" tab, though, rather than under a unique "TIWIKE" tab. I also moved the info on heroic opportunities to the "Misc" tab. Finally, I added some extensive information to a new "Alchemy" tab. Most of the general info came from the eq2.eqtraders.com Web site, while the detailed lists of potions and poisons and their effects was compiled by my friend and guildmate, "Andreas." -- Darryl (Milquetowst) (And for the record, my character "Milquetowst" is actually now gone from Norrath. He was my most expendable character, and so he's been deleted in order to open up a slot for the fae swashbuckler I'm planning to create next month. May he rest in peace!) |

I'm truly clueless i guess. I cannot get it to do anything. By some miracle I got the EQmap mod to work, but not this. When I unzipped this into the EverquestII/UI folder there was the Default, EQ2MAP, Font and infocenter folders there.. along with eq2ui_journals.xml and eq2ui_journals.infocenter.xml.
I loaded up the game and typed /show_window Journals.Infocenter and... nothing. I am completely lost when it comes to these things. |

*moved from the download page*
This is really a gerat mod, but I have some problems getting it to work. /show_window Journals.InfoCenter brings the window up, with tabs and all, but no info in them. Previous posts have suggested that this might be due to the folders beeing wrong. This is how I have them /UI/ eq2ui_journals.xml eq2ui_journals_infocenter.xml infocenter/ alchemy.xml alchemy/ eq2ui_alchemy_box.xml notes.txt t1.txt t2.txt ... and so on And whatever/ means it is a folder, and everything under it is in that folder. ----- I do have EQ2Maps, and when I move everything to that folder, as suggested above, the /show_window Journals.InfoCenter has no effect at all instead. Do NOT have german or any other non-english language version... Any idea what could be wrong? |
By moving to the EQ2Maps folder, do you mean the ui folder under your main UI folder, or do you mean the EQ2Map Updater folder in (probably) your Programs directory? It sounds like your directories might be one off, or the ..ini file might be missing. Starting one directory higher, is your setup:
/Everquest II/UI/ eq2ui_journals.xml eq2ui_journals_infocenter.xml etc. or is it /Everquest II/UI/<custom ui folder>/ eq2ui_journals.xml eq2ui_journals_infocenter.xml etc. If you don't have the custom ui folder set up, follow the instructions here for creating it and the .ini file in your Everquest II directory. The .ini file must be created or EQ2 will not know to look in the custom UI folder. |
/Everquest II/UI/EQ2maps/
eq2ui_journals.xml eq2ui_journals_infocenter.xml /infocenter/ That is how I have them. The .ini file is working for the EQ2maps, should I add something for the infocenter to work also? |
That sounds correct. Only other thing I can possibly think of is to double-check the .ini file. It should have these two lines:
cl_ui_skinname EQ2maps cl_ui_subdir UI/ Which should be there because you have EQ2maps. But my knowledge on fixing UI errors starts and ends with "double-check the directions." |
Here are a few tier 3 Freeport writ changes from the revamped Nektulos zone:
27 -- "Dark Feeders" -- Mist Shrillers 26 -- (was Natural Disaster) "Ghoulish Grievance" -- Scrounging Ghouls 26 -- "The Woods Began to Move" -- Deadly Rumbleroots |
I really love the InfoCenter. I do have a request tho is there a way to put some kinda search function for the quests? So I don't have to go through it all? Where all I have to do is type the name of the quest and if its in the InfoCenter the search will find it?

The First of Many EoF-Related Updates....
It's update time again.
First, I went through and updated the spell lists. Second, I moved collection quest info to a separate tab, and also gave each expansion's collection quests a page of their own. Third, I added the major EoF zones to the hunting guide and to the harvest info pages. Finally, I started adding (or at least blocking out space for) additional EoF data elsewhere throughout the Info Center. There's obviously *LOTS* of EoF-related info that'll need to be added to the Info Center eventually. Some of it I don't even know about yet. Some of it I do know about, but haven't blocked out space for yet. Some of it I *have* blocked out space for. And some of it I've already added. But of course, since everything already added is based on second-hand info from Beta, it's all subject to change, anyway. I expect that there'll be a *lot* of Info Center updates over the next few weeks, after EoF goes live. ;) -- Darryl |
I am having a bit of problem with naming my notes. Ok I got the notes themselves to work but when I went into this file eq2ui_notes_box.xml and changed this
<Button Location="2,24" Name="note02" OnPress="parent.parent.parent.Task.note01.visible=false To this <Button Location="2,24" Name="ProvisionerHarvestingInfo" OnPress="parent.parent.parent.Task.note01.visible=false The game starts crashing but when I put it back to the default name the game works again. Am I doing something wrong? And if I am doing something wrong how can I do it write? |
I take it you're trying to rename the note files as well as the button in your Notes section in-game?
Changing the name of the button in-game is easy. Open eq2ui_notes_box.xml and find the default name of the button you want to rename (in your example it would be Note # 2). Replace it with whatever you want the button to be named in-game. Changing the name of the note text file is a little trickier. Here's how I've gotten it to work. There are a 2 xml files that must be editted. First, of course, rename your note file (note02.txt in your example) to the name you want for it (ProvisionerHarvestingInfo.txt). Open the eq2ui_notes_box.xml file again, and do a find/replace, like in your example. Quote:
Second xml file. Back up one folder to the infocenter folder, open notes.xml and do the same find/replace (note02 for ProvisionerHarvestingInfo). There will be two places to do it here. Remember next time you update the infocenter to have a backup of the notes.xml, eq2ui_notes_box.xml, and note(#).txt files you have editted somewhere, and restore them after the new info-center is installed! |
I noticed that scrolling down on any of the side bars, would go down very slowly if you use a mouse scroll bar, any way to make this go quicker? I looked around for clues in the xml files, but couldn't find anything

Might be a useful list to add :) Oh, and the name is actually Mystic Moppet, not Moppet Master. It's that collection where you need [a lost soul] x_x |
Infocenter isn't working for me since installing Echoes of Faydwer. :(
I had to load the dafault UI, but is there something else I need to do now to get Infocenter working? |

I'm running the default UI atm. The only real mod I had running was an XP Bar mod (Now default) and EQ2Map.
I copied my default folder to a folder called JackDefault and edited my EQ2.ini to that folder this morning, should that be all I need to do? |
Monk Spell Name Correction
it is level 7 Cobra Circle, you have it listed as Cobra Strike.
Thanks for a great UI/ |
As I'm trying to learn how to build UI, I like the info center, my first expiernce with it is in the Fetish Nightfall.
I'm using the default to learn off from. and have a copy of all the files from the default folder into my custom folder. I have everything in place in the UI I'm trying to learn to build. But how can I access the info center. I know in Fetish Nightfall I could bring up the recipe window and click on the ? to bring it up. |
