I have installed KoS and have received 1 achievement point but cant use it.I use THOR UI and someone told me that it can be the problem.

What to do?

I'm not sure where to post this, and unfortunately I don't have the time to go through all of these posts to look and see if this has already been answered, so I apologize if this has been answered many times.

I'm using ThorUI for the first time, switching from Fetish Nightfall to this UI because like EQ2maps I like the autoupdates idea. But I'm noticing a few things that I'm having difficulty with. I'm using the Slim install because I have certain things I prefer over others. I have a bag UI I like (I like having my bags out at all times, so I can click on various potions whenever I want, switch weapons for AA attacks, whatever I want. I use depechemodes untitled 2/3rds bag mod. I find it smaller and more compact than anything else out there). But I also like Milquest's info center and EQ2maps over the ThorUI versions.

However, when I deselect these options, I'm still getting the grid of the map and myself - something I *know* isn't an EQ2maps fearture) and I get the ThorUI info center - my macro for Milquest's info center becomes broken. While I understand you'd like me to use you're features, I'd rather use the ones I prefer.

I went back and double checked to following were indeed deselected:

ThorUI Info Center

(But Journals, Active and Quests were selected)

Map Plugins:

deselected -
Map Plugins - POI

Map Plugin - Grid Lines

Map Plugin - Mini Map

Map Plugin - POI Visibility Toggle Button

Map Plugin - Loadmap

I'm still seeing grid lines on my map - despite this option being deselected.


And again, my sincerest apologies if this has been asked many times before or even just a few times. The UI looks really nice, I've been eyeing it for a while and finally downloaded it when a friend pointed me to it some months back and got tired of always having to reinstall my UI's when the Live Updates came out. I really appreciate any assistance anyone can offer me. I'd really like to use this UI and get it working to my satisfaction so I can use it along with Milquests info center and EQ2maps.

the thorui au doesn't delete any files so...

Per the instructions :p simply delete the thorui folder any time you change a feature. "EverQuest II\UI\thorui"

Once you have what you "do" like from thorui you can then simply throw other authors features in the thorui folder to use them.

Hope this answers your questions.

Always wonderful to have the opportunity to feel like a dunce... I have been deleting the ThorUI folder... the one with the program. Not the ThorUI folder within the eq2/ui directory. Halleluah, I have seen the light! :p Now to go do it on the other 2 machines I use regularly.

Having trouble figurign out how to activate timers.
my apologies if this has allready been answered. all i see is the various timers.. I can move the symbol around on each of them but cant figure out how to activate them.

you move the slider to the point where the dot is at the time you would like to start timing.
once the dot reaches the marker you know the predifined time has passed.

Hi,

I have looked around and cannot find this problem posted anywhere so am hoping it is just me being stupid and its an easy fix.

On the Mini map, the icon that represents me is always way down to the bottom right, no where near where i actually am.

Also when switching from mini-map back to full map it messes up the full map layout, cutting the waypoint and create buttons area in half. Can be corrected by using the minimise map and then restoring.

I'm using ThorUI since several month and never had big problems. Because I was using some additional UI files, I did not use the AutoUpdate to replace older files.
With LU24 I decided to update Thor, and after I did it, my Target window, my Player window and all right-click options are gone. I just have a black window left.
I already deleted the ThorUi folder and repatched, the problem stayed.

I switched to default UI of EQ2 - Problem solved...

Currently I can't get ThorUI running...
Any idea?

Not sure if it will solve the issue or not (since using the default UI seems to work fine without it being done), but try deleting your window placement file (SERVER_CHARACTER_ui_settings.ini) file and let the game create a new one (or use the window wizard in the Thor AU to do so, so you don't have to manually arrange the windows)

On a side note, it's generally a good idea to run the updater every time you play, just in case Faetyl does any emergency updating. You can still run the updater even if you do use non-ThorUI components without worry of those files being overwritten as long as you either a) don't have that particular window selected in the Features section, and/or b) have the "Do Not Update if local file is newer" option checked (found in the Advanced Options section) ;)

Im just starting the game and have been trying out different UIs. I have been using Fetish original but during this last update the crafting window has been out of commission. Not wanting to wait - and hearing my group mates rave about ThorUI I decided to switch.

Glad I did! This is a great UI. Along with that Im having some difficulty finding a few things.....

1) I uploaded an upgraded Knowledge window... the one with the sword down the spine. But I cant for the life of me find out how to sort the icons within. I saw the option just below the knowledge books for the knowledge sorter.... checked that box but have no idea where to find it or how to pull it up. Any tips?

2) I'm using the condensed version of the inventory window. Is there a way I can keep that open on my screen when I log in/out? have to hit the I button everytime i log in. No biggie but just thought i would ask

3) Is there a way to condense the Persona window? I liked the option in Fetish where you could have a window that shows key stats and cash on hand at a glance. I play on a PVP server and its invaluable to use. Opening the full Persona window blocks out 1/4 of my play screen :confused:

4) Is there a way to turn on spell buff descritpors on the play screen? Like profit reborn..... its nice to see the name of the buff you have cast as well as who its on. :D

ok so I have been using thor UI for quite sometime now and have always enjoyed the options it gives me in the game. I was updating thor the otherday when it installed a newer version, well after i then started eq2. I noticed when i was loading into the game it took a long time to load the UI resources. Well when i entered the game it crashed me right away. I tried everything including reinstalling the UI and the game and the map updater. I then removed all of the thor files and i can log into and play eq2. I miss my thor UI i cant stand the crappy one sony gives you, please someone help me get my ui back.

Still works fine for me.

Did you delete your uisettings file and try that?

Hey im super attached to thorui, like its pretty bad attached lol, i play on the test server and when ever i log on it says the inventory for ui can not be found, i've redownloaded it and it didnt fix and a few other friends are having the problem, but its only on test server, usually I wouldn't care but we transfered the guild to there for when the server goes down, and ill literally just won't touch my inventory, and im running around with alot of unattuned items :).

No I don't think so, I believe i had on Jaxel's Inventory Interface
But I can't get it to work lol, and every time i try to switch it off to check my inventory my game crashes, so it takes me like 5 minutes to equip stuff and switch back lol

Hello there!!! It's me again!

I found a few answers while playing over the last week but there are still a few I was hoping to hear on :)

For #1 - i found the little bugger.... its a small dot just above the open/close button :D really really small... but it lites up when you mouse over it.

For 2# - was able to get the main window to stay open on loggin but no idea how i did it. I now have noticed something else........ that when I drag armor pieces over to the window to change out items it doesnt seem to work. not a big deal as I am learning to use the right click drop-down windows to equip stuff but was wondering if I was doing something wrong? The window that says "drop items here to equip"?

For #3 & 4 - Any chance on adding options like these? :D

I know you can always download stuff from the UI site individually but im always affraid that the files will be incompatible and crash it out.

Nice UI but I am kind of anal and like to size my chat boxes,target window, toon H/P window ,etc. I cant seem to do it with thor UI. I like things to be smaller so I have more vision than distractions. Is there a way I missed? Or will you offer resizable everythings in an update?

Odds are, all the windows are locked. Once you unlock them (via the right click context menu), you should be able to resize them.

don't know if this is the right place but how do I turn off the stuff that says Alt1 Alt 2 and ctrl 1 Ctrl 2 stuff from your hotbar. it really blocks my view from seeing what I have. thanks.

I am having the same prob. the dots are so small I can't hardly see them and you can forget about click on just one dot if they are in a group.

check your map plugins in the thorui features selection.
Sounds like you selected the enhanced POI
Deselect the feature then allow thorui au to update. then cancel and close the updater.
delete the thorui folder then relaunch thorui au
it will re-download all items and you should be left with the default eq2map icons.

Also, don't forget; the wizards with eq2map gave us the ability to toggle POI on and off for specific types.

I tryed that. I think there is a prob with your map stuff that will not let eqmaps run right I turn off everything on your maps and it still gives me a gride when the eqmap does not have one. I think it is just something to do with scalling is all. b/c it works fine you just can't click on the dots very well b/c they are so small on the map screen and I have not seen that prob with any other UIs I have used.

Read the instructions please.
When you disable a feature you have to delete the folder or each feature and re-download.
In other words just unclicking the box doesn't do anything but tell the updater to not download it again.

SOE made a change that updated the expected inventory window to Version 2.0.0
Updated ThorUI inventory windows to match.
Should work now.

Quest helper has disappered
 

I read through all of the posts, and I didnt see this issue addressed. I downloaded this UI today,and from the getgo it worked fine, suddenly about an hour into playing, the quest helper disappeared. I went to options windows and tried to see if I accidently hid it, but that didnt work. I then went to the updater the quick windows thing didnt help and the other one leads me to a black screen with "working..." at the top but after several minutes its still "working..." Needless to say I still dont have my quest helper window :(

2nd issue that I have experienced and to an even further degree my husband has been having since downloading this ui is getting dropped to character select screen everytime we zone. This did not happen prior to today. As stated above we both downloaded this ui this morning. Other then these two issues we love it, thx for your hard work.

These are issues that can happen from a corrupt "window placements file"
When switching between UI's it always best to delete these files and set them back up either manually or by using one provided with the UI and then adjusting it to your playstyle.
For example, some UI's have wihdows that others do not.
The window placement file retains the placement information for those nonexistant files and can indeed cause furhter issues...
I'd recommend backing up your window placement files first then login and set these up or use ont that i provide.
Let me know if that doesn't work.
Not real sure why SOE chose to use the format for those files that they did but i'm sure they have their reasons...

I'm not really sure what you are telling me to do here. Could you be more specific? I need the UI moron version if you will :p Step by step would be the best way to go. Sorry for the inconvenience. :(

Go to your EverQuest II directory
You should find some files that are named something like so: SERVER_CHARACTER_eq2_uisettings.ini

make sure your not logged in game then copy then to another folder or rename them to SERVER_CHARACTER_eq2_uisettings.ini.bak

Then log in and you should see all your windows all over the place in a jumble.
You may move them all to where you would like then try that.
Or, you may use the window placements wizard available in the thorui application. Basically you choose which setup you want and it does the rest.

Few more writeups in the eq2interface forums as well if I'm still not clear.

New problem
 

Ok that worked fine, my quest helper was back, however the spell effects bar was now horizontal instead of vertical, I can't figure out how to make it vertical like it was before. I tried running the window wizard {on full} but when I went back into the game again my quest helper was gone, and the spell effects {buffs} were still horizontal. So I am redoing your orginal response to get my quest helper back.

Someone else asked about removing the alt and ctrl words from the hotbars but I never saw a reply on how to do that, I would like to remove them as well if there is a way.

Spell Effects & Maintained:
Right click and unlock and take off click through.
Once done you may move them where you like then lock and re-enable clickthrough.

Hotkeys:
I can indeed setup an option to remove the #, Alt, and Ctrl tags but that would be another mod. Adding another mob requires some setup on the ThorUI AU as well so will take time which I don't have much of currently.

I will try to get to it soon though.

As another option, i'm pretty sure another author has this already.
You could disable my hotkey feature and simply place their mod into the thorui folder.

The quest helper window can be toggled on/off by the checkbox within the quest journal ;)

As far as the spell effects bar(s) positioning issue goes, I believe you can unlock the bars (via the right click context menu) and resize/reposition them to your liking.

As for the command text..... try this mod (which can, of course, be used in conjunction with ThorUI :p)

Seeing my armor and stats of it
 

How do I look at my armor and the stats thereof? I cant look at individual pieces of armor on the portrait and in the inventory window it only shows rings and charms and such. So short of taking it off and putting it in a bag is there a way that I am not finding to look at my armor and the stats of it? If not will there be an update soon that will allow this?

Button in the top left expands the inventory window. (I designed it to stay up so you could use right click equipment and easy bag access)

All stats are shown in the Persona Window along with a fully resizable paperdoll window for those of you who like to look at many images of yourselves. :p

Im having an issue with the thorui interface. in some quests there is a dropped item where you have to examine to get the quest, most of the time when examining the item there is no box popping up giving u the option to "close it" or "keep on reading" simply nothing shows up? perhaps an update or is it osmething else?
