Check your firewall settings to allow the aucp to access the internet. It only needs port 80.

Windows firewall is disabled, and my when you start aucp, you can see where it say connecting to "ip", then connected, then just sits at "Updating aucp filelist.sml". as for the directory, there are 2 exe files, loader.exe, and AUCP_Uninstall.exe. The other files include aucp.ico, aucp_filelist.xml, shorcut to eXtreme webpage, adn ui.bmp.

If that don't work point your browser at http://extremeui.equinoxgaming.com/A...p_filelist.xml and see if you can access the file at all.

What in loki's gibblets am I doing wrong? I installed it just as it said, nothing went wrong, i load up and got this! As far from the screen shot as I could imagine!

You didn't select a res setting when asked if you wanted to make eXtreme your default UI. So the game is using the UI setting you where using before you installed eXtreme. Go back into settings in the AUCP and set a res uisetting file to the character you use. Be sure to press the save button also.

Landiin, tried deleting aucp_filelist.xml, it puts a new one in, then sits at the same point, I can access the xml file, as well as all the files listed in the aucp_filelist.xml, and those files are now in the directory with the launcher.

I can run aucp.exe and get the program, running that way, and have 2 tabs, extreme, and eq2map, however, I cannot launch EQ2 from the program or access the settings from there.

I have also tried manualy saving the aucp_filelist.xml from the link you posted to see if that would work with no luck that way either.

I am wondering if a fresh install of EQ2 would do any good,

Re-installing EQ2 I don't believe would help you. You have having problems accessing a website. I would hazard to bet you have a fair amount of Spyware/Adware on your machine.

Be sure you run th eupdaters for each of these tools before you scan so you will have the latest definitions.

Maybe this has been asked before but: is there a way to make the grey (metallic) parts of the UI smaller?, so i can fit in hotbars etc, I dont know why they are taking so much space:(
and I did all that select character and resolution stuff, i currently have it at 1024x768 (same as game)
But I was forced to move stuff around couse of the UI being all over the place.

Pretty sure there is not spyware, however, I will run a scan when I get home. as for being able to access the site, I can pull down the files using mozilla or IE with no problems, pulling like 40k per sec doing so, so I don't believe access to the site is a problem .... however, I haven't ruled it out yet.

also, if you really want to clean spyware, dump adaware, its junk (free or pay for version will miss 90% of whats out there.), go with hijack this ... just know what your doing if intend to use it.

Well frankly, I have no clue at this point. The eXtremeUI is being hosted on my website http://www.equinoxgaming.com (I haven't updated it in forever, not to self update the website).

I have yet to have a problem accessing the site from multiple places in the US, if you want drop me a PM / E-mail and we can try and figure out what the problem is. I may even have to enter a support ticket to my host :eek: :D

hmm, I can access the site, it all comes from the same directory as the loader.exe right, I can download that with no problems when it does the install, I can delete the aucp_filelist.xml and it will redownload it. one thing i was wondering, if i open aucp_filelist.xml in notepad, it is not layed out like most xml files I am use to seeing, it is only 1 VERY long line, I am wondering if the formatting is getting screwed up somehow.

Download http://extremeui.equinoxgaming.com/AUCP/AUCP.exe into the AUCP folder and run it. That is what loader.exe does and keeps it up-to-date.

Having problems with changing chars and status bars
 

Posted this to help but after reading the UI messages, you said to post here. What is happening is that at 1600x1200 when I change toons, the bars that normally have red yellow green are just shades of green. Also the text for the spell casting goes away as well. All I can do is to exit and restart when I want to change toons. I know this is not correct so I wanted to see if I had something set wrong or if there was some way to have the EQ2 just reload that UI. I have posted the normal and then the bad one on the same toon at the same spot. All that was done was to camp to that character.

This is a game issue not a UI issue, it's all covered in the FAQ in eXtreme's forums.

There's still a problem with the 'one click' heals in the group window. They still don't work. Any clue when that might be fixed or if there's something that can be done on our end to fix it??

Just now getting settled in after the move. I still have some things to tidy up but I did work on the UI some last night lol.

It'll prob be another week before things return to normal and I can get back to the UI. I still have to run video cable to 2 of my kids rooms. No i don't want dish drilling a hole in the side of my walls lol.

No there wasn't a fight over download points, He never has even said anything to me about it. Really I just am lazy and didn't want to update it with all the updates that will come with EoF. Plus it's he deserves the download points for such fine work.

It does work much better but I have five chat windows and can't close them. Newb to UIs but not forums - I searched. I have title bars and most of the extra windows have the close button (1 doesn't still). The buttons click and make noise but the chat windows won't go away.

For when I figure out how to resolve that problem - How do I get the hot buttons in the lower right of the UI the way it is in the screen shots?

Well frack! LU30 goes live and the only URL I can access from home is my ISP's lol. I have the updates just can't update them. I'll zip them up tonight and get em to Pilot to put on the updater server.

I think all that needs to be done is just add <include>eq2ui_mainhud_contest.xml</include> to the eq2ui_mainhud.xml file and <include>eq2ui_popup_hotkeyoptions.xml</include> to the eq2ui_popup.xml file.

I have looked around and can find no way that this is possibly going to work for me. I have gone to the tab and changed names and servers to match my character names and server, but next time I run the AUCP, it rewrites my changes back to default characters on Oasis server. Am I doing something wrong or expecting something that is not possible any longer?

I also cant see how this works while in-game. Nowhere in the list of options on the camp screen in your UI does it allow me any choices other than the standard Camp to Desktop, camp to character select, camp without *blah blah blah*.

Any experienced users who can guide me thru enabling this feature, please respond :). Thanks.

No idea how to enable the feature. However, I do this myself already. I don't deal with multiple servers so I just type in "/camp character_name" and it switches without camping. I am not sure if for characters on diff server if you put the server before or after the name.

As stated in my post a couple above I can't get the UI to go on my screen properly so I am not yet using it but did notice similarly that it would not keep changes made in AUCP for names and servers.

The Quick Character switch or what ever once wishes to call it has not, repeate NOT been included in the LU29+ releases yet. Due to moveing in real live issues with my connection and being super busy from moveing I havn't had time to add it back in.

Rangerquest, did you follow the direction sammeria gave you? the ones you quoted? If you don't use one of the premade uisettings.ini file then it is best you start out with a blank one or you very well may have weired things happing in the UI from things lingering over from other UI's.

I run the UI at 16000 X 1024 @ 85 hz and it does great, however anytime I go to a windowed mode to get to the internet, or do something else, if I come back to the game, go into options and try to go full screen again my screen is all jacked. The graphics part is a lot smaller and shift to the left. I have to restart the game for it to look normal again. This wasn't ever an issue before on the default UI and has always been an issue using this UI. Just wondering if there is a setting in the AUCP or something that I'm missing that will allow me to go back to full screen and having it look correct (the same way it did before going to a windowed mode). Thanks for your time.

try using 'alt-enter' to switch between fullscreen and windowed.. I swap back and forth all teh time and have none of the issues you describe.

The reason the windows are all moved around is because your window game rez is smaller or larger then your full screen res.

Ok, so is there something that I can do about this? Or not because the window is naturally smaller than the screen and can't be at the same resolution?

Yes, I followed those instructions with the results indicated. Other than the EQ2MAP this it the only UI I have tried since I liked the layout illustrated in the screen shots.

I will see what I can do to get closer to the SS results.

BTW is there a file I can save/backup so if I again decide to remove the UI I can have everything go back to the way it was before they UI?

UI Setting Issues
 

I am trying out your UI for the first time. I tried using the default settings for the ui at 1600X900 and it is having issues with the hotbar settings and missing the bottom left chat window. I tried the 1600X1024 and I have the same issue. I deleted my old UI's and all my settings and tried again and I am still having issues. There seems to be settings mishapps in it. I can fix them but I thought I would tell you. Also I wanted to know if I add another system in for the broker if that will make things get messy? I like the advance system from Fetish. In either case the installer is really nice and props there. Cant say I will stay with this but I thought I would give it a whirl. Thank you for the hard work on this. There is alot :)

P.S. For the wide screen nuts like myself. I have a 20.3" and it has a rez of 1680X1050. I found that the 1600X900 works better then the 1600X1024.

Ok, so I've looked into the AUCP and see in the settings that my cl_screenheight is 1024 and the cl_screenheight_windowed is 1009. I've changed the windowed one to 1024 several times and clicked on "save", but it doesn't ever stay there, since when I load and try to go windowed and back it's still messed up. So I check the settings in AUCP again and it's back to 1009.
