First, let me say that this is the best UI I have ever used. :) I do have a slight problem, however. I have installed the latest version, and on my main character, the Quest Helper Window is visible and may be turned on and off with alt-j. On any other of my 8 characters, the window is not visible, and I cannot find any way to make it visible. It's certainly not game breaking, but it's convenient to see what I'm working on and its progress. I wonder if anyone else has this problem or could offer a suggestion. I should add I did not have this problem on previous versions. Thanks so much.

Thanks for the reply, Zonx. I had a feeling it was SoE, and the bag strip thing makes perfect sense. I'm just a doofus for forgetting time and time again!

Cylver: There should be a check-box on the main Quest Window that turns the Quest Helper on/off. I think it is in the lower right of the frame.

Hi, first off I apologise if these have been answered already, I checked a bunch of pages but don't have time to go through all, now for my questions.
1) Is there anyway to make the clock window go away? I prefer an experience bar that already has that info and I'd rather not have it twice.
2) How do I stop that stat bar from loading everytime the game starts up?
3) I was in a group with someone yesterday who was posting DPS stats, he said it's something in this UI, I looked everywhere and couldn't find it, he also said there is nightvision button which I can't find !>_<

Thanks for the reply...I double-checked, and the check-box is enabled on every character that has no Quest Helper. I unchecked it and rechecked it, with no resolution of the problem...still no Quest Helper, but I appreciate your help :)

cylver: Hmmm. Ok - try one/both of these.
(1)
Bring up your Options window, go to Controls -> Window Keys
Scroll down until you see the row for 'Quest Helper'. Assign it a key.
Hit 'Accept' to close the Options Window.
Now: That key you picked should toggle the visibility of the Quest Helper Window.
I am thinking that it maybe got turned off by mistake. See if you can toggle the Quest Helper Window 'on' using that key.
Make sure the Quest Window still has the 'show Quest Helper' checked.

(2)
Rename your 'eq2.ini' file, and restart the game.
That will give you the official, default SoE UI.
See if the Quest Helper Window shows up. You might have to do (1) above.

(1) See (1) above - you can use that to assign a toggle key to the clock.
I THINK the game will remember how you have it set.
(2) By 'stat bar', do you mean the long, two-row bar of persona stats?
If so, bring up your Persona Window. There is a toggle for the two-row bar in the upper left corner.
(3) I dont know about the DPS stats. That MIGHT be a setting in Options.
There are a number of 'start button' mods out there that replace the big EQII button. One of these, for example, is by Goldi.
These often have a number of additional buttons on them, including a 'night vision' button.

Thanks again, I had tried 1 and 2 already. So I tried reinstalling, no luck, lost command center. I finally deleted the Fetish directory and did a new install with all addons...still no luck. Finally I logged in a small character I had not played for a long time on another server. I was asked if I wanted to import UI settings. That made me think, so I logged on the problem characters, used load_uisettings, imported the UI from the main character that was working, and there it was, the Quest Helper. I'm not really sure why this works, but it does. I won't question it. :rolleyes:

Well: That is interesting.

I knew that a character's UI settings are saved in a file, but I figured that option changed in-game would alter that file.

It now sounds like that is not (always) the case: Ie., maybe there was something "wrong" with some of your characters' UI file, which the UI import "fixed" by replacing the entire file.

Or, of course, it could have just been the Ghost In The Machine taking pity on you.

It could have been that cylver was allowing windows offscreen as well. =)

Love the UI. I am wondering if there is anyway to get just the map portion and the inventory portion in a seperate file, updated for LU26?

in a 76 page thread with basic searching I an unable to find a solution to my problem.


At times eq2map and fetish do not seem to get along leaving me with POIs from different zones on the current zone I am on, or my character placement on the map is completely wrong.

Any ideas?

i havent seen this talked about but it happens on 2 pc that use fetish nightfall 6.6,

when going into an arena and you click an arena to join then press join arena i crash to desktop,

if have removed the arena xmlfiles from the ui folder to it uses defualt arena uis and i do not crash to desktp

If you go to the original download page for fetish nf .... underneath there is a list of add ons and such .... theres one for the arena to fix it .... I don't go to the arena ... so not sure if it works .... but its there :) ..... hope it works for you :)

Hi,

Installed Fetish a few days ago, and I dop like the look of the UI so far however after me carefully setting up window postions etc and quiting to desktop, when i relog into EQ2 the interface is messed up, windows missing/moved etc. So i have to reset everything.. delete my uisettings file and start again to get it working again.

Any idea whats causing this, and how to fix it ?

I just installed nightfall 6.6 last night and it was working perfectly then today I logged in and now the bar underneath the player health/power and party member's bar area is missing. When I log in it initially shows for like 2 seconds then vanishes. It's the bar that shows your gold, mitigation and other stats.

Any ideas on why this is doing that? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I used to have a bug like that, but I thought they fixed it. Make sure you delete the uisettings file and make sure its gone for that character.

I believe that bar might not be enabled by default, but due to the way the UI loads some things may show up when loading that 'go away' later. Can you re-open the window in the normal fashion (I think its through a tiny button on the inventory window at the bottom -- I don't use that bar so I'm not 100% sure).

I love Fetish Nightfall -- wouldn't play the game without it! Thanks for all your work on this!

I think I found a couple of bugs, haven't seen these reported before:

1. When doing a timed quest, like the JBoots races, I can't see the time remaining in the quest window -- it's just a red box.

2. In the guild member status window the entry height isn't quite enough to display all the data. The "Joined on...." data is cut off on the bottom. Is there a way to increase the height of each member entry?

I'm using Fetish 6.6 in 1600 x 1050. The bugs above are minor and don't prevent me from using the UI in any way. Just thought I'd mention them to get them on the list for the next release.

LU 27 Causes this to crash on load
 

hmmm....was looking at other interfaces to see if they fixed this problem yet. ThorUI just has to remove inventory_inventory and it works. Did this, even removed ALL inventory files, but still crashes.

Just wanted to let you know what I have tried so far.

Hmm, this problem must not stem from just FetishUI...

I just logged in with Fetish Nightfall and everything played fine.

The only problem is the paperdoll thing is now just a gray block -- but no crashes or anything.

The command center is causing my crashes.... I reinstalled just Fetish and it worked... reinstalled the command center and started crashing again.

k...I was able to go through all my files and found the offending one:

eq2ui_mainhud_startbutton.xml

This is the one that actually causes the crash.

yeah that paperdoll box and the new spam button in the email window need added :D

other than that loving fetish :D

when i go to inventory, i get an EQ Client crash when i try to open bag strip.

I tried it 4 times and it worked each time to crash me.

Grey area in paperdoll spot, and the mail needs spam button but other than that i havent noticed any other ouches with the fetish nightfall.... so we see :)

Aye I have suffered the same issue with the bag strip, and what is with the greyed out paperdoll image. I know that they said it will not be mimicing the actions of the character (though I hope that is not permanent). But I didn't think that it was going to be greyed out.

Also what are you plans for the cloak slot that will be coming out in Nov with EoF?

SOE "redesigned" how the PaperDoll is displayed - the old XML code does not work: They have defined a new XML construct <PaperDoll ... />.

So: The old code simply has nothing to display, and you get the grey background.

FYI: What you get now is a static image of your character which you can rotate via the mouse. I suspect this might be in preperation for an ability to change how you look.

Can you say WoW Dressing Room? That's what a friend of mine speculated and it would certainly make sense. A lot of people have asked for the ability to see how they would look in linked armor or armor selected off the broker and it would certainly be splendiforous. I would like that immensely and it nearly makes them breaking my beloved UI worth it. If that's what it's for, of course.

It is easy to figure oyu why they changed the paerdoll to one that you can rotate.... i has to do with the next expansion and the addition of cloaks.. so you can see the cloak.... they even gave it away when they said We're keeping that under the cloak of secrecy for now...

I'm crashing to desktop after the latest GU. I'm running Nightfall Fetish 6.6 (big fan btw) and Milquetowt Info Center. Don't have time right now to check which files are responsible. Was hoping some others had the same problem.

Any eta on a fix? or a workaround for now? I'll check the inventory file mentioned above for now.

I never realized how much I took this mod for granted till I had to use the default UI for 5 minutes... lol

yep. the file:

eq2ui_mainhud_startbutton.xml

is definately the culprit.

I have made a small fix for Fetish UI, please try the attached file.
Unzip the contents into your Fetish folder, overwriting both files

What was this suppose to fix? a crashing problem, cause the only problem i had was my toon was greyed out on my inventory window and its still greyed out with this patch update.Thank you in advance.

Goldi's posted fix is for users of her Start Button Addon.

From what I've seen, the only issues for standard Fetish caused by LU27 are the empty Paper Doll and a crash when attempting to open the Bagstrip.

I hope to have a new release out this weekend to resolve these issues and a few other issues left over from LU 26.

Minor issue.
I don't actually see a timer for times quests. All I see is a black box with Time written in red on it at the upper right corner of the quest helper.

This is especially frustrating with the new TS writs that are timed...

I have had same problem, which was of minor concern. Now that I am doing timed writs, it is increases slightly in importance.

I had a paper doll and did not crash, but my timer for quests does not work, been playing all morning to find some way to fix that.

And the few UI's I have tried are no were close to Fetish. I dislike them all.


I am spoiled by this UI and all others in my humble view pale.

Hey guys quick question. I was recently runing a raid (which I do not do very often thank god) and the whole drag and drop feature is almost impossible to actually get to work. Now I was talking to everyone in raid and they said that is was not my ui (fetish 6.6) it was just a bad design on soe's part. So my question is, does anyone else have this problem? and if so, is there a solution?

I am having a problem with the map using Fetish. It is all black and all I see are the dots. I did see a comment on one of the other pages of this thread but did not notice a fix for it or what can be done to correct it.

Unless of cours I missed it completely.

Where can I find help for this?

not 100 percent sure if this fetish issue or Sony's But I wonder why the who button on my tracking window for my assasin doesnt work! Also the time thing doesnt show up either other then black box. Btw you can get the time by openingyour Journal and looking near top of the quest that has the timer! Thanks
