I keep getting client errors when I try to run with this UI any good troubleshooting tips? :(

i have a widescreen 1400x900 b/c of vid card and have tried endless ways to fix this using smaller and forcing a larger rez to see if it would fix it

I was miising quite a bit of my skills on the skill window, but not as bad as my fae! He has no skills whatsoever?

If you are having issues with windows like skills or etc you need to delete all files that are in your eXtreme UI folder. Some of the windows that where changed with the release of EoF/LU29 hasn’t been reworked.

I am no longer pushing milquetoast infocenter files via the AUCP. You will need to go to its download page and get it. Just extract it into the eXtreme UI directory is all that is need.

Sorry for the delay in updates / fixes as I’ve been busy in RL getting my new house ready to move into.

Info center updating/foreign files?
 

Hello Landiin!

I love the UI and have been using it since I started playing EQ2. The question I have is that I just downloaded the info center myself since thats what you said to do. I installed it correctly by extracting the files into the Extreme UI folder. But when I load up the AUCP it seems to update every info center file and now says that there is 38 foreign files found. Shouldn't it NOT be updating since your not pushing the info center files anymore? Are the files the AUCP is sending the newest files or what? And what about the foreign files? Im confused as to why its still updating the info center files if we are downloading it seperately now and if I should exclude the "foreign" files so I do not get the message anymore.

The UI has been working great and I like the new LU29 look, kudos!

edit: after going in game when I hit the info button in the UI it opens up a black screen. When I open info center manually with "/show_window Journals.InfoCenter" it still opens the same black screen. I've also posted this black screen issue in the info center support thread but I thought i'd mention it here as well.

I also have the same problem with the InfoCenter screen turning black when opening it. I downloaded the InfoCenter and installed it, then when I run the AUCP it downloads 239 files and complains about 37 foreign files. If the InfoCenter is no longer updated through AUCP then you might want to remove those files from the update list.

My main character is a wizard, but over the expbar on the main HUD it lists the class as sorcerer.

In the broker window, under advanced search, when I click the class and level button it once again sets the class to warden instead of wizard.

Edit: Tried deleting files to see if the skill tabs under Persona -> Skills would show up, no luck. Even a complete fresh install of eXtreme didn't help.

Edit: Quick char change menu under the start button is completely missing now.

did update today, deleted all files in the extreme folder, still missing casting text, maintained timers, and only skills showing are still adventure and no tabs for other skills at bottom of persona window, and now black window after info center update

I'm having the same issues with the info center as Fearra ans Smut with the black info window. I even tried removing the infocenter directory within the UI, and it downloaded the files, and had no "foreign files" listed, but this did not resolve the black window. The info center was working before tonight however (before I installed the infocenter/zip file located here on eqInterface.com), and I even restored a backup extreme directopry to no avail.

A Second thing I noticved, the notes window is not working properly either. All of the tabs in notes are being displayed on top of each other. The tabs themselvees appear to be under the text window as well, and are not clickable at all (in the past, the first screen often was overlayed like this, but clicking an individual tab wold cause them to display properly for me).

I am also having the same issue with the info window, and I also can not locate the quick char select button. I thank you for this wonderful UI and even with its bugs as of late I would never dream of changeing UI unless it just wouldnt load any longer =) keep up the good work.

I decided to give yours a try and it's awesome . Gratz on being a featured skinner I did however find a bug

upon running the aucp patcher it hangs every time tring to dl aucp_charselect.xml have no problem with foriegn files at all but would like to change to a different bag how do I do this

Oh crap! I forgot to take out the old info center! I'll do that as soon as I get home today. Then the info center should start working correctly.

The quick char switch hasn't made it yet. I'll also get that tonight.

The persona window should the default one so not quite sure whats going on with that. I'll make sure it didn't get included in the update for some odd reason.

I should have a free night to night so hopefully I can get a lot of these issues fixed.

I think the problem with the persona window has something to do with the frame or the boarder, in the stock ui there is a tab at the bottom of the window to swap between skills, even tho your not using a persona file, the window is still skinned and missing the tab.....

to use another bag mod just install the eq2ui_inventory_bag.xml in the extreme folder, make sure to add it to the excluded file list in aucp so it wont get overwritten when you do your updates

Great UI.

I have one problem. I am mainly a Tradeskiller and the skills for Tradeskilling and General (as you know) were moved to the Persona Window Skills sub-window. When I select the skills window from I only see Adventure skills with no tabs for Tradeskill and General.

I'll be looking into the persona window also tonight:)

One more thing...I notice a small error everytime I look at the update/main screen in the AUCP so I thought i'd point it out to ya since it would only take a second to fix :) . On the main screen of the AUCP (where the updates are listed) there is a wrong date listed for the EoF/new look UI update. The date is incorrectly listed as 9-6-2006 (so theres 2 updates that say 9-6-06 when they were actually 2 months apart) when it should be November 14th 2006. No big deal, I just see it everytime and it bugs me lol

Yes, I noticed that date too but umm didn't fix it lol.

At any rate, You can update the infocenter now it's been removed (for real this time) also added HO & Pet window back.

Now I'm checking out the persona window.

Oh yea, have any of you had issues with the group window? My son was playing the other day and umm it showed he wasn't in a group even though he was.

InfoCenter main window returned to normal... Failed!

I downloaded the full InfoCenter and installed about 2 days prior to you "removing" it the first time. At that time it worked fine. As soon as the eXtreme update came in w/o the InfoCenter the screen went black and has stayed that way, even now. Seems to me the problem is in the UI somewhere. I tried re-installing the InfoCenter from scratch after the eXtreme update and added all the files to the excluded files list.

Speaking of the InfoCenter. Now it complains of 300+ foreign files, and it was almost a task to add them all to the excluded list so I am making a request for a new feature on the AUCP. In the window that opens after you click the red line that says x foreign files, could you add a button that will add any selected files to the excluded files list instead of just having the option to delete them or open the foreign file folder? It would make life a lot easier for people :)

Yourself not showing up in the group window: Had a temporary problem with that earlier today. Once I zoned it listed my character in the group window again.

Since I haven't seen anything about the class issues I posted earlier (exp bar and broker advanced search) I figured I'd mention it again just in case you missed/forgot it :) Expbar on the mainhud shows class, not subclass. In advanced search under the broker window it lists my wizards class as warden when clicking the my class & level button.

Other then that, keep up the great work Landiin :) eXtreme UI is definently the best one out there IMHO! Kudos!

Ok, I'm going to uninstall my eXtreme and install it all like I never used it before and see what happens. I am able to use the infocenter with out issues. I think I'll back up first though lol.

I went so far as to totally remove the extreme folder from my EQ2 folder the only thing I left were the settings for each toon where it is hard using a 1920x1200 screen size to reset all the windows in Extreme. But alas when I reloaded and then loaded infocenter.........well nothing but a big black hole in the screen :(

Also I was wondering does anyone know of a mod that will allow small vertical bag windows, I used to have one added in that worked great untill the expansion came out.

That new BIG maintained spell window that was added-how in the heck do I get rid of it? I don't need it and it is alot of clutter on the screen, especially with the raid window

Alt+M. You may have to go into settings and uncheck the option that allows you to hide hud windows.

You should now be able to switch between viewed skills.

Thanks for fixing the Persona window. I can see my languages and Tradeskill skills now.
I do have one problem that is probably my missing a chack box or something. I play in windowed fullscreen. Every time I use AUCP my screen resets to letterbox and I have to go to options and move the slidebar back to the left. Is this a bug or what did I miss?

In the AUCP settings click on client settins and remove the letterbox settings.

The market window works for me. I'm rolling up all classes to test /sigh but any thing for you guys :)

Yep, getting the right class on the exp bar. My class & level button on the broker still sets it to warden instead of wizard and even after downloading the updated InfoCenter (11/23/06 update) it still shows up black. Going to test with a fesh install of eXtreme and the InfoCenter to see if it changes anything. Might be a setting somewhere, you never know.

Edit: Fixed a couple of typos.

Completely uninstalled eXtreme and the InfoCenter. Re-installed and used all default settings. Still no change, My class & level still sets the wrong class and the InfoCenter is still black.

I still havn't had time to check out the infocenter issue. Keep getting pulled away from the comp by RL issues lol. Issues issues issues there always seems to be issues lol. I know the infocenter is used by many and that will be the next thing I fix. Just as soon as I can kick my son off my computer. :eek:

installed the ui and have one question
 

I installed your ui today and it seems to be great,but i have one problem.My buff bar appears in the middel of my character screeen and i cant move it.Ihave unlocked it and it still wont move any help would be greatley appreciated

Make sure frames and title bar is turned on. Then you should be able to mouse of parts of it and you will get the 4 arrow courser that will allow you to move it. If after doing that and it is still a pain to move, let me know and I'll add and grab handle to it.

Even though the Infocenter is not functioning correctly, would there be a way to add a function to add an entire directory to the Excluded Files or make it so the auto updater dose not affect that directory.

Don't know if you changed anything, but now the InfoCenter is working for me.

ok, this is my first custom UI attempt, but am somewhat pc knowledgeable. Just want to know what I am doing wrong. I have created a folder in the UI folder under the EQ2 directory. Also, I have unrared the Infocenter rar file into said directory. It consisted of 2 .xml files and a folder with subfolders in it along with other .xml files. When I try to install eXtreme UI, it puts it into the everquest2 directory, since it needs an eq2.exe file to recognize to install into the folder. I have then created a text file with the appropriate cl_UI_... info in it and named it eq2.ini and saved in eq2 folder. When I run eq2, it stays as the default UI and a file is created in the eq2 folder named ui.log.

the ui.log folder contains this info:

I'm trying to update through AUCP, but the download stops at 6% (scanning) and refuses to go further. I've restarted AUCP, and my computer, but it still sticks at 6%...

I haven't updated since the day EoF came out, so there's a bunch of fixes I'm dying for.
