two questions
 

hey, just downloaded the ui and loving it, but a few problems:

for some reason sometimes in guild chat i can't hit enter to bring up the chat box to enter text, i need to hit "/" and then backspace to type. when i click on another chat tab and back it works fine

is there any way to see my paperdoll? unfortunately i don't like the way you show the inventory and would rather just see my paperdoll with the stuff around him and bags underneath. any way to do that?

is there any way to combine different text tabs? for example, i'd like my guild chat and tells in the same tab, any way to do that?

1. Go into options and make sure the setting for Start chat is set to Enter.

2. Delete the file "EQUI_inventory_inventory.xml" in the ProfitUI folder and you will get the original inventory back. Alternativly, download a new, spiffy one from here. There's plenty to chose from. :)

3. Go to the guild chat tab, right click the chat window, select Chat Options and tick the box that says "Private Tells". Head to the tell tab, right click and select "Remove Current Tab".

Ambrosia, I think you missed my response to you a while back.

treborprime, the pet dismiss button is in the upper right corner and shows on mouse-over. If you have the titlebar displayed, it's one there, otherwise it's lower.

hiroprotagonist, no idea. It should work, but maybe SOE changed something. I'll changed and work around it if necessary.

Prodigus, I hope to have the time to get a new release out this weekend.

terrordemon, for the chat, maybe you have another window open that catches the keyboard input, for example the market window. For the paperdoll, right click the window and select "frame and titlebar" mode. If you still don't like it, do as Pixi said. :)

Just checked this and it turns out that you need to have Frame and Title set to Frame Only. Once you've set that you get the blue title bar that says "Pet" - this is what you click to target the pet. :)

Very nice work -I like how the windows can be placed in a balanced fashion.

I have only one question; is it possible to have two XP bars up at the same time?

Specifically, I miss my old xp bar and would like to have a graphical representation in addition to the digitial one currently in ProfitUI. Could I add another on top of Profit or will the game only look at the one file (eq2ui_mainhud_experience.xml i assume)?

I love this UI but....do you have settings for a widescreen? I would prefer a resolution of 1440 x 900 to support my new widescreen laptop.

For the pet window, I'll add a clickable area of pet name and health/power bars to select the pet.

Duergan, yes, you can have two XP bars. You'll have to rename your file though and reference it in eq2ui_mainhud.xml.

dew1960, there are no default uisettings.ini for that particular resolution so far, but the UI supports it. Just delete your servername_charactername_eq2_uisettings.ini and then start the game. When it asks you to select another character's settings, simply click cancel. Most windows will already be setup correctly. You can then do the rest manually.

thanks for your help but the talking in guild chat problem is still happening. its not that something else is taking the enter because this never happened before. i even made sure that the start chat thing was bound to enter, but still doesnt work

help?

The only other thing I can think of is that the tab isn't set to "Frame Only" in Window Settings (right click the tab). If it is set to "None" the input box will be removed from the chatwindow.

Great UI, I love it!

However im having a problem with the inventory Market window (broker) . Says its not compatible with my UI and I should upgrade or use default. I just installed it today following the instructions provided. Is there something extra I shoud have done?

I guess you donwloaded the old Version of ProfitUI or ProfitUI Reborn.

I haven't seen it posted - except on the download page so I thought I'd add it here. The bottom bar just disappeared after I logged back in from a reboot. Can't get it to come back no matter what I do. Any clue what happened?

If this is to me - I haven't modified any of the ProfitUI files. I simply logged out, rebooted my machine logged back in. Well, I also installed .NET 2.0 so I could use ACT. Other then that the only other thing I did today was eat some chili and kill a lot of Qs.

*edit to add* I can open the ProfitUI control center, and regardless of the tick status on the "show bottom bar" section it wont show.

I think Chrislau he was talking to me. Chrislau, just look at the file dates, files newer than the last release have been modified.

lucidapathy, that's been happening to several people although I have no idea why. I posted a way to fix it a number of posts back up (edit your uisettings.ini), but I'll try to release a version today that doesn't have this problem (i.e. I'll revert to the 2.7.0 bar).

In Default XP Bar, there's no "ZERO"
And in VAR2 XP Bar, there's no "XP has been disabled"

I'm pretty sure you confused variant 1 and 2.

The missing "0" is by design (or rather the best I can do with what SOE gives me). Use variant 1 (which will once again be the default in the next release) if it bothers you.

The missing text however was a bug in the file which I'll fix. Thanks for reporting it.

But is there anyway to remove a fully functional control center into a default EQ2 UI?
Sometimes my system seems to work best with the default UI enabled but I simply can't do without the control center.

For that matter, as a Priest I love the ability to click the ailments next to group member but want to add that to the default box.

Ok deleting the uisettings.ini for the toon that lost his bottom bar worked, basically reset everything back to the beginning. Now to reset all the things I changed ;)

If you still have a backup, just editing the file in notepad would have been enough. Anyway, I just uploaded 2.8 where I reverted back to the old bottom bar filename, which should fix it as well (might take a while to get validated). Buggy game... :rolleyes:

and fearGod, no, "fully functional" won't work, the control center is made to work with ProfitUI.

Sweet downloading and installing now. Which brings me to a question I've been meaning to ask. In the eq2.ini you have the line for disabling the intro movie. I have tried to put an '#' in front but it still plays. Does it need to be changed to _disabled?
