  • Restructured the EQ2C_Settings.xml file, so that every thing that is common is grouped in the same node
  • Added a version to the EQ2C_Settings.xml file. If the versions don't match welcome to re-setup lol.
  • Added a more error handling and special error classes.
  • New Terms of Use welcome dialog.
  • Added Proxy support with or with out username/password
  • Started work on the plugin system.

Found 2 things.
Only the first file in a UI seams to get the right path for install, the rest is missing the last UI folder.

Not sure if proxy support is working, at least here at work it is not, and I still get the same errors (because of it I suppose), although they renamed are no longer designated as "unhandled". ;)

I am guessing you set the proxy param in setting also? I don't have a proxy so I can not test it really. Never used one either so not sure how they work. I just let the user set the param and pass the param on to the HTTP client.

Build 1.6 Change Log:
  • Fixed an issue where it was only correctly guessing at the first file in a zip that didn't include a eq2c.xml file.
  • Fixed an issue that resurfaced where if a file name had the same name as it's customUI dir it would change the name in the file also. This only happened with zip without the eq2c.xml file.
  • Made closing the app abruptly more code friendly. (still work to be done)
  • Fixed the status bar where when you pressed save in EQ2 setup it kept the text 'UIPath:'
  • Loss of sleep!
  • Added proxy support to the cookie request code and the fave list code.. Dirty things tucked away in there own private functions!

OK Off to work now..

Just to annoy you a bit Landiin, and because you asked for it, some screenshots from build 1.6:





Conclusion: Proxy support is not working.

Evaluation: Good, I can't test it at work that way - I should be working anyway. :cool:

PS: It is already showing the error messages even if you don't click on "show error message". Only the "access violation" details were hidden at first in the first screenshot.

On the run app list is there anyway to launch these files before everquest is ran?

It verifies that each program starts with out error, then it runs EverQuest 2 else it will display an Error dialog before continuing. I could make it halt the running of EverQuest 2 if one had issue starting up or give the option to halt it.But really if every thing starts with out error it should be running well before EverQuest 2 goes into it's main thread.

I'm sure its the proxy thing from the TidPortRequiredError plus the errors propagating out of TUIBase and TEQ2MAP classes. Wish I was more net savvy so I could set my own up and test it. But looks like gm is going to have to be it lol..

Regarding the proxy issues I just got home and fired a proxy up here to test this more properly (I still think this is not a necessary feature though). This should help you track it down:

The EQ2I News tab ignores the proxy settings and uses the IE configuration instead (which is ok I guess).

The EQ2MAP tab actually worked with the proxy settings.

The Interfaces tab simply fails and tries neither a direct nor a proxy connection. The error messages I posted above are linked to the Interfaces tab and appear as soon as you enter any proxy information in the settings tab and restart the program with those settings in place and the interfaces tab activated.

Is it possible for the "cancel autorun" window to be a separate window outside of EQ2C, and at the top is says "Warning!!!!" or something?

Try this; Remove every thing from your favorites list and run the app. If there isn't any thing on your favorites list, it will not load any of the TUI classes and just the TUIBase class will be loaded narrowing only two places the errors could come from. If no errors occur then they are propagating out of TUI class.

It is mostly being developed on a Vista 32 box (home) but I also do some developing on an XP box (work). I'm not to worried about XP or Vista, just some of the other window box like Win 2000 and the likes.

There are so many loops running and thread management going on while eq2map is updating it is possible I've missed stopping some of them when you close eq2map while it isn't totally done it could be trying to access a freed object. So if you close out just at the right time while execution is in the right place you could get this. I'm slowly combing these out.

Here we go again :)

I made a new UI, named it Test1 and then downloaded all the files for eq2map.

Now it seams to be stuck on 1 file that it download's everytime you press update.

Have a look in the UI folder to, gets a bit messed up if the folders don't exists ;)

Not much I can do about it downloading files if the MD5 do not match:/ I'll check to make sure the MD5 are really mismatching..

Fixed the eq2map issue you found. When you would add a UI it wasn't sending it to the config file with a trailing forward slash. The EQ2MAP class expects the UIPATH to include the trailing forward slash in the UIPATH.

/sigh and to think I was going to play EQ2 tomarrow lol.

You are right , i deleted the file in my play UI, and EQ2MAP updater re-download it to.

I need four more people willing to test. However I want people to test the Click to Cure/cast script generator. So you have to actually play the game also:)

2 people testing Raid C2C. If you do not raid allot I can't use you here.
1 person testing Group C2C. If you do not group allot I can't use you here.
1 person testing player C2C. If you don't raid or group allot I can use you here:)

PM me if you are interested. But PLEASE if you do not fit the description of what is needed do not request. I'm getting close to releasing and need feed back from this in action.

Note: You will be using a custom basic window for raid, group and player while testing, you will not be able to use the one you normally use. Unless you use eXtremeUI, I've already have these windows made:)

I've been looking over the UI model lay out and I've never really liked the way it is.

So I'm thinking about doing ways with the individual UI tabs and just using the first tab where they are all listed at, and have a second tab that will show the Zip tree of the selected UI from the first tab. What do you guys think about that.

  • New script engine for the Click to Cure/Cast models, The sky is the limit now.. well almost:P
  • Optimized the File Transfer thread, it should free it self now and not depend on the app to free it.
  • A TON of code rework, that I couldn't even begin to remember what I did. I've tried to break EQ2MAP model and can't but I know you guys can, so let me know where the new bug is.
  • The Interface needs some rework to I think but the small test I put it under it didn't generate any Errors.

Please find some error, grmm Don't through me in the briar patch..

Oh yea, forget I ever said anything about redoing the interface model, I must of been smokin CRACK!

Some things that have been changed from 1.7:
  • You can no longer change the UI if EQ2MAP or any UI is updating.
  • You can no longer remove EQ2MAP or UI models via settings while updating.

I think I have addressed all the bugs you guys have found, if there are some still around remind me of them. If no bugs are found, I guess this will be ready go live for next weekend.

lol...like i said, i let it update, pressed cancel all, and got this after pressing close. what happend was i let everything update(eq2map/ui's), and when that one screen came up i pressed cancel all, then i clicked close on the upper right hand corner and that's how i got the error. i tried reproducing it but nothing happend.
