Great Mod
Must say this is a very nice mod. Only issue I have is that when running the updater for it, it sticks whatever it downloads into my C:\ directory and NOT into my UI folder for EQ2. No biggie, after its done I just copy the downloaded folder to where it needs to be. I then run UI Switcher, choose Thor, then run EQ2Map Updater, and that launches EQ2 and I am good to go.
Good job overall though. Drunador |

More features coming..
Hi,
I'll be working this weekend on an option to allow you to ask Auto Update to intially download and then ignore modifications to a particular option. That way you can download things like information files and then edit them with no fear of getting them overwritten. The update will automatically deploy to you once I get it posted. |
It is possible; that would involve making a copy of all graphics used then changing the tint on them.
I don't foresee me having enough time to do something like this anytime soon unfortunately. Quote:

I was wondering, is there an online txt guide somewheres that would explain how to do (for example) a new casting bar... what images I need.... is it just an animated image etc.
I reallly like the one included with thorUI, but I find it's big on my screen since I have to run a 1024x resolution. Thanks, |
Nope they work fine and are still there...
If you have trouble, please delete the thorui folder and redownload all files and try again before posting there is an issue here. Quote:

I learned everything I know from browsing the forums and reading the file regarding the uibuilder.
If you don't want to go that far, here's a smaller version for you attached. Quote:

Greetings,
This mod is excellent very nicely done ... For a newbie like me this is very helpful.. What I think would be neat is for a way to take the CombatArts and split them up by Buff, Slashing, Crushing, Piercing etc... Within the Knowledge book.. Just a thought for someone... If this has already been done could someone point me in the direction of that UI mod? Thanks, |
Trade Window Bug
There seems to be a problem with the trade window. I was given some money earlier and the trade window did not update in the display the money given to me, but it will show what money I have placed in trade. The items appear correctly when tested.

Knowledge book skill/spell placements are character specific not possible within a UI mod...

Confirmed
Thank you very much for verifying this prior to posting. I'll get right on an update. --------------------- Ok it's fixed. I'll be removing the 3 extra trade slots soon i guess as it doesn't look like they will be allowing 9 slot trades any longer... --------------------- Removed extra trade slots that SOE disabled. re. Map POI + custom video presets
Hiya Faetyl,
gotta say mate, ur effort and dedication to this mod is to be comended... thanks heaps... it's a brilliant mod, and i enjoy using it every time i play (gratuitious praise never hurts :D ). Thanks for the quick reply, good suggestion... to deselect options which hav been modified... will do... Cheers, and Thanks :) :) Hiya MrNice, beatuiful work on the AU mate... makes like a hellofalot easier :D if it is possible to have a download once option, that would be great :D my suggestion for once only download, would be the eq2ui_custompreset1(2,3).xml, and the milquestowst_notes folder... just a thought. Cheers, and Thanks :) :) |
hi, i tried the chat while zoning feature, but decided i dont like it, i unchecked it in the advance settings and did an update, but its still there. is there a way to change it manually? thanks also, i tried deleting the thorui folder and redownloading all the files..thanks
|
Uncheck the chat while zoning feature, click "ok" and then close the ThorUI AU.
Now go and delete your "thorui folder" within EverQuest II\UI\ Last step would be to run the ThorUI AU and allow it to pull all files down again that you have selected within features. Quote:

LARGE Targeting windows?
for some reason today i logged in and my targeting windoes were HUGE!...
|
My targeting windows is HUGE today as well. Plus ANY changes I amke to the interface. IE unselecting the breath meter and the casting meter mods are not save and changed. When I look up the open under the advanced settings, they are not checked but I game they are still being used. Thanks in advance for any help/input. Keep up the great Thor =)
|
I modified them making them larger for some that complained about the size being to small.
If they are too large now just let me know and I'll make a small and large version... (Just realize it makes updates take that much longer so no yelling at me when they need to be updated) ;) Basic rule is I plan to make them match my player and group windows now... So expect the small version to be the same size as those. Quote:

Ok I'll get to work on this ASAP.
I just updated the base instructions with how to deselect a feature within the ThorUI AU. Check it out here: http://www.eq2interface.com/forums/s...86&postcount=2 Quote:

milquetowst_notes
Ok, since I started useing the new updater, all my info that I edit in the milquetowst_notes folder like notes01.txt always revert back to the default. It says during the update that the file is out of date and downloads it again and replaces the one I have edited.
Is this the right thread for that or do i need to post this in the authors area? |
Quote:
Yes that's correct. The AU detects a date/time change in your notes files and tries to update. I'll be updating the AU software so you can stop this behavior. |

:nana: Awesome, thanks, was wondering if it was something I did wrong ;) |
Additions I'd like to see
I love this UI builder, but it would be perfect if it supported some Fetish pieces such as:

Greetings,
I found a bug with the help feature with your UI. When I click on the Knowldege tab I can not search nor can I submit a trouble ticket. Not sure if anyone else is having this issue. I have no other mods installed I am using the Auto Update as well... Please take a look into this please. I need to submit a trouble ticket sometime soon. Regards, |
Issue addressed here:
http://www.eq2interface.com/forums/s...&postcount=106 I'll post the update as soon as it's updated by the author. As always, remember there is always a work-a-round by deleting individual feature files if they pose an issue. The ThorUI ounce again makes this easier by not requiring you to know what those files are. Simply deselect the feature within ThorUI AU then delete the thorui folder. Relaunch the ThorUI AU and it will redownload all selected files. Quote:

Problem trying to update.

For those wondering like i was how to change the color of the UI while using Thor, it took me a little while to figure it out, seeing as how ive never modified a UI before.. heres a quick guide for doing it.. you need photoshop or paintshop pro.. and the Nvidia DDS plug-in which you can get HERE .
IF USING PAINTSHOP PRO: if your using paintshop pro instead of photoshop, follow these simple instructions found HERE . After you install the plugin, go to "C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II\UI\Default\images" and copy all the files in this folder to a new folder.. i just put mine on the desktop. you'll be altering these.. from photoshop, open a few of the image files in this folder at a time (.dds and .tga). one by one, change the hues on the images (Ctrl+U) to the color you would like, i made it blue, (make note of the Hue settings you use so you can use the same one for all the images ),and click save. now the nvidia plugin will come up.. the only thing you have to change on this new dialog box is in the pulldown menu, the one that says DXT1 RGB (NO ALPHA).. change this to 8:8:8:8 ARGB (32bit). thats it, go though all the files in the image folder. i dont know if the files in the NEWUI and OLDUI folders are used or not, but i did them as well. after youve changed your image files. just copy all the files to the C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II\UI\thorui folder. and your done |
Hiya, totally awesome UI, used it since way back and not sure how I coped before with the default (when DoF update came out and I used the default I found it to be approaching unplayable after getting so used to ThorUI)...
...anyway.. there's the praise bit, now the issue bit ;) I recently got some new hard drives and did a clean install of windows xp and games and such, including eq2 and eq2map and ThorUI AU... Things don't seem to be working for me so nicely now; when I open ThorUI AU, it looks all neat as it should, but once it has updated itself and closes (when it needs to close after updating its own interface), upon re-opening, it opens with errors - specifically, the central pane which shows the text "updated x number of files" etc opens and I see HTML code instructions in it, and the pane appears distorted. At the same time I hear the sound of an interface click, which is the sound I hear when popup has been blocked whilst surfing the net. This has the effect of making the advanced options panel load up incorrectly also, meaning I don't have to opportunity to select what I would like ThorUI to auto-open once I have done updating ThorUI (i.e. want it to open eq2map updater but with the ThorUI interface messed up I can't configure it to do so). I've searched through the options on some of the security software I have running in the background to see if I can loosen up some of the pop-up blocking / browser jacking options in them to allow ThorUI to do its business, but to no avail... I guess I could do a selective startup of Windows XP and then open ThorUI updater in an environment where it wouldn't be subject to all my pc defences, but doing that each time I wanted to use it might become a chore - any other users having this issue? Is there some settings somewhere I'm missing that would mean ThorUI's activity wouldn't be detected as pop-up activity or would be allowed (before you say check all my security software to find what might be blocking pop-up.... a) tried it, couldnt find anything out of the ordinary and b) I'm looking for a solution where I don't have to compromise my pc's security... or else what's the point of the security ;) ) Any help appreciated here (when ThorUI AU was first released, it worked fine and I have the same range of security stuff as then...). Best wishes Statue |

Thor UI does not do anything unusal with your PC. It uses a standard HTTP GET call on port 80 to download everything. The only thing you have to do is allow Thor UI Auto Updater access to the internet. The PopUp sound you are hearing is probably not my software but instead your firewall software asking if it's OK for my program to access the internet. It's probably popping up behind my software's screen, since I center things like most dialogs will do. If you are using XP Service Pack 2 you need to go into control panel / firewall and make an exception to TCP/IP traffic for Thor UI Autoupdate. The distrotions of the screen are another thing. You probably have LARGE fonts selected either in your desktop settings or in your video card driver (ATI Drivers seem to have this problem in spades...go figure..they are the WORST driver producers). Check your font settings and reset to normal. - MrNice |

Hi Thor
Your body of work rocks !!!!
Just wanted to put that in. Now to my issue... In the EQ2 Help under "Knowledge" I was unable to look up topics or was also unable to send a ticket. Is this Sony related or is this UI related? Keep up the awesome job. :o We can all certainly count ourself lucky to have you so dedicated to EQ2. |
Look 7 posts above yours for reply ;)

Ok Looks like Internet Explorer is having an hissy fit. The log window is really just a copy of old I.E. running inside of Auto Update. I use specal COM calls to insert (modify) the web page you are viewing. Evdiently your browser does not appreciate that. It must not trust the COM controls on your computer very much...which can actually happen. Some things to do: 1 - Make sure your Windows XP is fully patched. Some changes to I.E. were screwing and needed more patching. 2 - Go into I.E. Select Tools | Options | and select the security tab.. Select the trusted sites icon and then press the "sites" button. Add http://localhost to your list of totally trusted sites. This means the browser will allow stuff like document changes when the host in your computer. You wouldn't spam yourself right? 3 - Make sure there is a c:\program files\thorui\logfile.html file on your machine. I ask the log file browser window to load that file and it's what tells the browser to display HTML correctly. You are definiately not running a vanilla version of explorer (hence the windows controls have been overwritten - themed). You might try switching back to a standard XP install and see if you still get these issues. I personally won't use products like WindowBlinds, etc.. because they always seem to cause weird errors in the OS. |
Target & Implied Target Windows
Back by popular "demand" ;)
You now have a small, medium, and large choice of target windows. Enjoy |

I also am having the exact same problem. It started up on Sunday or Monday, after I deleted the ThorUI folder to reinstall some different options on the ThorUI. I added the https://localhost as you suggested but that didn't do anything either. BTW, I also use an ATI video card. |
