Except, maybe I have not seen what toggles it or something but is there the heritage, writ, misc, info available in this like some of the other UI's? Maybe Im just not seeing it.
If there isnt, can you recommend what piece perhaps we may use with this UI in order to get that info?

kagi, yes you should not be running the map updater at all after following the install/update instructions. The current files being pushed by the updater still don't properly support plugins or skinning. The 6.2 release included up-to-date POI files.

pillbub, yes you're doing something wrong. /loadui has never worked well. If you've followed the install instructions and setup the eq2.ini file as instructed, Nightfall should load automatically.

Cholayna, the Infocenter window can be accessed by clicking the "?" button in the titlebar of any of the following windows - Journal, Knowledge, Tradeskill. Double-clicking the "?" button should display the related tab.

Yes, thank you but I was looking for something without the timers. Just a small number that shows up on the icon that counts down. Kinda like the Mother's maintained window but without the titles. Thanks.

been using Fetish for about 8 months or so now, and i read this forum at least weekly, so I'm aware of some problems others have had. I know for a while past the personabar didn't show up by default, and you had to manually add it. Now it doesn't show up by default for me, so reading past posts and the inculded fetishnightfall.doc file, I figured i knew what to do to rectify this.

Persistent Display: Open the persona file _Fetish_mainhud_personabar.xml in Notepad and search for the following code:

PackLocation="left,top"

Replace with the following code:

OnHide="visible=true" PackLocation="left,top"

Save and Exit.


which I've done, however, it still isn't coming up. Now, I'm willing to accept the fact that I screwed something up... I've downloaded v6.2 again and just added ...personabar.xml file, and that didn't seem to fix it.

I'm curious to know if others have this issue, or if there is a fix, or that i've done something wrong (i use a variety of add-ons as well). Anyone have a suggestion?

And the guild bank log doesn't work =/ (i'm using default right now, being as it's completely necessary for me to be able to track guild bank transactions.)

The bank log does work, Initially, it will not show, you need to switch to another bank then back for it to show the lists.

I don't know what everyone did to make their stat bar disappear, but mine stays up constantly and I can never make it go away lol.

I've been using Fetish for 6 months...cant play the game without it now!

I have had a recent problem that I am not sure is related to Fetish or not. When I log in, I don't have a chat window at all. I can make it appear by trying to chat or send a tell or something..but anything that has happened in guild chat, etc or tells to me isn't in the history. If I log in and am afk for awhile..I miss all the chatting that happened. Once I do force the window to appear, it stays there for a whole session without problem. Is there some setting somewhere in XML that is driving this?

Is there a way to make the chat window NOT hide the scroll bar? I like the scroll bar, and hiding it means that if I try to type without mousing over the chat window I end up typing on top of the bottom row of text. Just looks messy and makes it really hard to see what I'm saying. ;)

Nueen, sry re-read your request. I'll see if I can squeeze timers into the standard window without making it bigger, but I doubt they will fit.

TheDustSettles, Personabar can becomed saved in the closed state and SOE changes to the clock window seam to have made the auto-open feature less than reliable. You may need to open it via the Persona window's "P" button. Once opened, it may save that way.

There is a minor bug with the bank log not showing when first opened. Changing banks loads the log file properly, so just swap to another bank and back. This bug is already fixed on my end.

Kerianah, there is a close button if you wish to close Personabar. Not positive how the clock is behaving these days, but it may reopen Personabar if you zone. oggeling Inventory may also cause it to reopen.

Lauck, sounds like your server_settings_character.ini file is bugged. You may need to trash it and resetup your windows.

Been running Nightfall UI for as long as its been out with no problems but sence the last patch #20 after about 10 min my computer just shuts off, when I run the default UI I have no problems, any ideas ?

Hi Zonx,

I have an issue with the Achievement XP bar. What it shows is in correct information. it says I have 200.8% xp, with the progress bar half filled with green.

I did a petition to see if it could be fixed and eventually got a reply. The CSR recommended I try the default UI and see that resovles it. after renaming my eq2ui.ini file, the game loaed the default UI and it showed me the xp correctly. So I switched back to Fetishnightfall, only to have it revert back to not working.

Im, not sure where the problems lies. I did a quick check in the UI builder to check to make sure the default one looked the same as yours and it did.

Can you think of anything else I can try? one thing I havent done is a complete redo of the mod directory. posiably one of the non fetish add-ons I am using is causing issues. I will try this later and let you know it resovles the issue. But if anything else springs to mind, I'd give it a shot.

Resovled my Achievement issue.... I redid my whole UI again from scratch including the EQ2map. I prefer to use thier eq2_mainhud_map.xml file, but on this update that didnt cause me any issue. so now I can see my points/progress no problemo.

I just downloaded and installed Nightfall and I love it. Makes you think that after playing EQ2 for close to 2 years I would have done this long ago :rolleyes:

I was wondering if I could use the Gothic Theme 4.7 with the 6.3? I looked through the Gothic files and noticed it was missing the .dds file for the 2x8 Knowledge window layout. I'm planning on switching back to the original Knowledge window layout, so the UI will not need that file, but is there any thing else I may need to change?

Prety sure some kind soul posted an updated version of one of the Goth Themes earlier in this thread (I'd provide a link if I had the energy to dig it up myself). If that doesn't fix you up, I hope to have them both updated in the next few day.

:nana: I found the post you were talking about Zonx and it had a link to a .xml file that worked. I do have a question about the experience meter. It seems that the top 2 bars are too close together. I was wondering if there could something wrong with the coding in that file I used. I'm inculding some screenshots of what I'm talking about.

There's a minor display bug with the XP numbers in the Achievement bar on top layout. Other than that, the window is working as intended.

In your screenshot, you have set the window height slightly taller than default, which is spreading the top 2 bars from the bottom bar.

Great looking UI.
Installed it, got it to work, but it will not load as the default UI.
Have to do the loadui bring up the menu, and pick it. When I do that 90% of the time the game crashes to the desk top, but when I can get it to load via the loadUI command it works great :)

Running it in 1600x1200 on a 24" Flat Panel so it looks great when I can get it to load.
With the KOS expansion installed

What am I doing wrong here, mind you this UI stuff is all new to me.
Follow the directions, but not sure if I am even starting the game as intended when these UI's are installed.
Use the EQ2Map loader to start the game,
then it always default to the default EU. If I don't start it using the maploader, then I don't get any of the cool maps.

Also, none of my window positions get saved.
Any ideas here?

There should be only 1 cl_ui_skinname xxx line and the skin listed must match the custom UI directory name of the skin you want loaded on login. Best to avoid spaces in that directory name.

I've never tried using a custom UI before but this came highly recommended. I downloaded the zip and followed the instructions in the readme to a T. EQ2maps works fine but Nightfall doesnt load when I run EQII. Is there something I need to do that isn't in the readme?

I got it to work by changing the above to
by moving the skin's name first that fixed all my issues, it now loads by default--go figure.

I've searched thru several pages and haven't seen this issue addressed. Sorry if I missed it. When I open my infocenter the text runs off the right edge of the page as do the buttons for things such as display settings. And I have no scroll right/left option only up/down. Anybody else having this issue other than the 1 guildmate of mine that mentioned it to me? If so any advice on a fix?

All in all though if this is the only issue I have to deal with in order to use the best ui I have ever found. I'll just live with it :) Thanks for a great job Zonx :nana:

Questhelper Window isnt activateable/deactivateable with ALT+J like it used to be, i dont get any HUD warnings so i guess i have the correct settings under eq2 Options set, where could this error be?
Deleting of all my cache eq2 files hasnt helped here either incase some1 is going to suggest that =b

There is a check box at the bottom of your journal to "Show quest helper" sounds like you don't have it checked. If you do, try unchecking it, then rechecking it. If that's not your problem, then sorry, I probably mis-understood the question. :p

right ofc that checkbox is cliked, my questhelper pops up at some momemnet when i get updates on a quest, usualy not at first update.

Realx, are you sure the window QH window is set to 100% visible in window options?

Kali, hit the "P" button in the titlebar of the Persona window. Once opened, it should save open and stay that way. If its doesn't save opened, you're character_server_settings.ini may be corupt.

Hello and thank you for a wonderful UI. I have been playing EQ2 from day one. I am 100% lost without the Fetish UI. I have tried others, but Your directions are better written, for me. Unlike most, I don't know what to do, but download and read the file "read me". I was able to follow along on each update successfully. However, in the last two updates, my font size in my Guild "u" is odd/off/bigger. My font issue doesnt hinder game play; I just have to search for the info... "when did a person JOIN guild". The font on the right side is hidden. Also, my rewards in my journal are not always showing; I have to restart game to make is show...again doesnt hinder play...wonderful to know.
I am requesting help. I have read boards and still I am lost and dont know how to fix. I know its a pain but I need a walk thru helper. Whomever wishes to help me with this issue, please feel free to email me at [email protected] I will con't to read boards as well.

Did a quick look at the forums and can't find what to do if the window with sprint and your equipment and what not disappears. Logged on and it just wasn't there this afternoon. I tried button mashing w/ CTR and ALT on some stuff, with no luck....I'll spend more time looking for it later as I'm close to running late for a raid. Thanks for any input from others!

forgive me if this has been answered before, but when updating the infocenter (milqu just updated a few things) i copied over the files that where newer than the old ones without replacing all of them. This IS the recommended updating procedure is it not?

First off, thank you for a great UI!

I am running Nightfall 6.3; however, I've been having map problems since the Nightfall 5.x series. Typically it happens in Antonica and Commonlands with the map reverting to the wrong side of the zone. Occasionally I can zone into another zone and still see the map icons from the previous zone(s) on the map.

I notice that the thread above is about 9 months old, so I assume that this issue has been addressed. Also I know that EQ2Maps has undergone significant changes since then.

Any help in resolving this problem is greatly appreciated.

hannahaspen, some data may not display properly if using unsmothed fonts. I believe there's also a setting for Large or small fonts which may cause problems if changed. Lastly, be sure to install the fonts provided with the Fetish zip. 1 of these does over ride a default font and could potentially be included with other mods.

shidhe, if you mean the inventory window it toggles with the "I" key normally (not CTRL+I, not ALT+I, just "I"). This setting can be found in the usually place in the Game Options window available from the EQ2 Start Menu or ALT+O. If you mean the Bagstrip, you must click the "B" button at the bottom of the Inventory window to reopen Bagstrip. None of my customizations add a sprint button.

hiroprotagonist, mostly correct. Update the TXT files that have changed. You should avoid replacing any of the infocenter/...xml files if unsure how important the changes to those files were. Typically the only reason to change the .xmls would be if the button list for that tab changed.

Tilth, this is a long-standing issue that has been addressed in several threads. The quote you provided is somewhat erronious. The problem stems from a limitation in the EQ2map plugin system not passing map changes to plugins in a multi-map zone. As a work around, you can avoid the problem by keeping the map closed when crossing a map swap line. Use the menus and the set (S) button to reset the proper map. And finally you can remove the menu plugin entirely by opening plugin_4.xml in Notepad and deleting all its code.

Note: An update to EQ2Maps is planned to be pushed out soon. Once that happens, I can update my map files to resolve all known issues.

One thing concerns me, didn't see this mentioned, there is no PvP difference checkbox when examining weapons/CA/spells/etc. I doubt this is intended, just wanted to give you the heads up!

just read your reply Zonx and right now i cant get it up once so im at a loss here, it used to pop up but doesnt anymore at all after i tried the option kee main hud visible all the time, reloging and puting option off hasnt help either, no clue how to get quest helper back =\

I'm haivng the same problem as realx. I deleted my character settings files and quest helper is still gone. Tried replacing the window with default quest helper window, and other quest helper windows to no avail.

EDIT: realx, I fixed mine, what I did was re-download, and re-install the UI. Re-installing from what I already had downloaded did not fix it. :confused: Also, you might have to delete the character files again.

redoing my char ini is prolly the last thing i was going todo was pushing it out sofar pressing J works for me atm
