Have you downloaded the latest one off this site and installed it? Let me know if you have and it is still doing it. That error was an issue with a earlier version but to my knowledge was corrected with the release that sets in the download sections of this site.

How many use the audio player? was wondering if its worth my time to advance it along or phase it out.

I do Not use it either.

The enhanced info is not in the quest journal, it is on a little button ui in the top right corner, named "info" if I recall.

I personally don't use it either. Great idea but for me it's just easier to load up iTunes or RealPlayer where I already have my playlists there.
Also if I get bored to listening to my music I always have the internet radio streams that are good. :nana:

One quick question if you don't mind Landiin. This UI absolutely rocks. Keep up the great work. Your efforts definitely enhance my gaming experience and it's much appreciated.

On your download page for the UI if you look at your example pictures (1st one) near the quest journal to the right of it there is the inventory icons both above and below the words Starcrest Commune

For some reason I can't find that in this current UI. Was this something you removed or am I not doing something correct? Any suggestions would be helpful.

I just downloaded this program, but I am having trouble fitting it and finding the pieces exactly like in the screen shots. Also, there is a big black box with my health in the middle of the screen that I cannot more or do anything with. Can anyone help me out?

Open up the eXtremeUI CP and go to the settings tab. At the bottom click on the advanced option button. There you can pick you char's uisettings file and a resolution that is close to yours. If your res isn't listed pick one that is close to it as this will get you into the ball park. The you will have to adjust the window placements. Some windows can't be moved unless you turn on frames and title bar for said window. If you still can't move it maybe try running the mouse cursor around the border until you see it change to the move cursor.

There shouldn't be any black boxes, maybe a dark blue but if its black you've changed or added somthing to the UI.

THe box that has your health in it and can be toggled on and off by pressing the health HUD button on the button panel.

I try to use it but i cannot get the in game commands to control the player to work. If you created a little window in game to control the audio player it would own all that is owned.

Well the UI looks great! and I tried to install it but it doesn't like my display I run a 1680X1050. Still I tried to install and have the UI pieces just centered in the middle. However, This didn't work as I seemed to be missing components. :(

Any chance you will provide a setup for 1680X1050 or direct me on how to get this to work properly for me.

BTW..I did install two clean copies to try and get it to work....but it didn't help.

What res option did you use as your base in advanced option? Picking 1600x1024 should get you in the ballpark, then you'd have to adjust some windows to get them lined up. IE unlock and move them..

I don't use it here either, usually the TV is running..:)

PS AWESOME UI!!! Just started using it this week, I configured it totally different to my liking, I like all my Chat windows on top, still it works wonderfully for me..:) I even created a very nice custom guild logo with "The Gimp", oh yeah and a custom background too! THANKS!!!

Just one silly question (hope this is the right place)...

I seem to be having trouble finding my extreme/doc folder or any working help files (for setting presets on the video) Am I doing something dumb, or are the help files currently unavalable? I get a script error when opening the help area, and all the links point to "http://extremeui.equinoxgaming.com/eXtreme_Help/test.html"

Am I doing something wrong??

No your not doing anything wrong. I just havn't had time to move the help info to that site. I'm at work ATM but when I get home I'll post how to setup the presets, unless someone else has the old documentaion and can post it.

What do you mean by can't get it to come? Can't get it to download, Run, or what? Are you getting any error messages?

Great UI couple of things I am running into and not sure if it is something on my end or a problem behind the keyboard but I cannot get the quest helper window and XP window to match up on top. Another issue I am having is in the menu window the stats you show on the sample screenies are not showing for some reason and the health and power bars on the pet, target, and implied target window are screwy. And I almost forgot the compass window is showing the default ui inside the compass rather than what your sample screenies showing. Any help would be great.

I examine a quest from another person using the journal that comes with this package and when I do I get a half quest box with accept and it won't go away . I have to camp out then come back in to make it go away but when I camp I get a windows box that says that EQ just crashed?

I'll look into that Raesoth. There is no real difference between the journal I use and the default one except I moved the bottom over to the right, nothing else was changed.

I redid the target and impliedtarget windows fixing the issue with the respected buff windows not showing. The buffs jump a around a little but they are there to see. I'll be working on the jumping to see what is causing it.

Hope you like the new layout as it's the only way I could see to do it.

I run the installer for UIExtreme start EQ2 and see nothing different

I went to the advanced options and see the character INI's but there are not reselution settings shown.

I go to the UIExtreme Tab and I end up getting this message: Out of System Resources.

I went in manually and changed the eq2.ini fiel to reflect the eXtreme ui settings still didn't work.

WHat am I doiung wrong? pleas esend em an email [email protected]

did you let eXtremeUI_CP patch? the install has none ZERO UI files. If you do not let it download all files you will not be able to use the eXtreme UI.

Don't know why but I cannot connect to get any files after downloading the downloader. I was able to on friday but the UI kept installing all funky. You know missing fonts textures and no targeting ability what so ever. So I'm trying again. Just thought you'd like to know it seems your server is down. I shall continue to try. Need this ui my new monitor demands it! lol

Ok got it to install. It connected and now I'm patching the UI. Or updateing it. I'm on dl 3/250 files. Moving eXtreme - ly slow though. Been about 5 minutes to download those 3 files and I'm on a T1 line.

A request/suggestion...
 

As since the day I installed this, this UI rocks! I was thinking what might be nice if one could select text within the notes window (and info window too if possible) so as to copy and paste to fellow guildees or those asking questions. I have found the notes and info windows very valuable to me, it would be nice to be able to quickly copy (ctrl-c) and paste (ctrl-v) to others in other windows instead of typing all the info out, when answering someones questions about a quest or whatever..:)

Just a thought, definately works well as it is anyway..:)

Thanks for reading and most of all for the hard work making this UI work so well. Props bigtime for such a smooth operation, especially with the latest big patch, I was half expecting a bit of lag time for repairs, which I saw none.

The patcher's acting up for me too.

I downloaded it from here, ran the installer, and let the updater go. Got a bunch of "Out of System Resources" errors, so I reinstalled the UI and ran the updater. That time it worked -- or so it seemed. I loaded up the game and half the UI (and pretty much all of the maps) was completely broken.

I closed out and tried to run the updater again, but got this:

"Preparing eXtremeUI_CP.exe for patching.
Patching eXtremeUI_CP.exe
Error renaming D:\EverQuest II\UI\eXtreme\eXtremeUI_CP.tmp
Patch Failed!"

A little help here?

Just thought you might like to see how I have configured this UI for my own use. I mentioned before I like all my chat windows on top, I like lots of hotkeys too, this was my solution attached...:)

I will post my custom guild logo in another reply too, so you can see what I see while zoning Logo wise..:)

Well I got it to update with all those out of resource messages and got into game. The UI is there but all the text is like yellow and I cannot read it. Also I have no tarfet windows no where. Even when I cntrl+t nothing. No effects spell bar either. Not even hidden nor off screen. Oh and zero special fonts at all. Guess this UI just doesn't like me. Nice UI though from what I've seen. But for me tis broken.

ROFL, good to know, I've updated some 3rd party classes ( on the dev updater ) and I was having a hell of a time commencting.. Was like going over each line of the new code trying to figure out what the heck was going on.

The server the ui is on seems to be acting up ATM. I am sure it will be rectified soon so hang tight.

Nothing I can really do about the things in the info center as that is just a 3rd party mod I plugged into extreme. I will look into making so the notes can be copied from, but no real ETA on that. Good idea :)

Hmm, dunno we were fortunate to have a graphics design professional in our clan make that part of our logo, maybe she would know..LOL Same designer made my Avatar for me (as well as many of the graphics in our webpage listed in my sig here), I use the avatar here as a Signature in our clan's/guild's forums.

The implied target window is broken. I can't get it to show up. Using the /show_window mainhud.Impliedtarget command brings up a useless window. I even did a complete reinstall of the UI, including replacing my UI settings file with one of the included defaults, and the problem persisted.

I did a fresh install a couple of weeks ago and I know I lost the custom font .. no biggie there ... but this new targeting window ... wondering whats happening.

I've attached a screenshot. Should my name be on the colored bar?
Where is the implied window? I take it the blue bar are for the buffs?

Also when I do the alt+T , I get a smaller blue box in the larger blue box .. now I'm not grouped atm so can't tell whats its for .. (2nd shot) but when I clear the target window that small blue box remains.

I'll have to see what happens when I get a group tonight


Edit: Got in group and things making a bit more sense .. like the spilted idea .. but names are still showing outside of the bars.. intentional?

Target and Implied Target.

This is how it works now;

If you have no target, there shouldn't be a target window. If you have a target and your target does not have a target there will be a target window with one health bar and the name of your target will hover over that window. If your target has a target, You target will shrink to just over half of the target window and the remaining part of the target window will be populated by the implied target information that looks just like the target information just a little bit smaller in width.

From looking at Raesoth's screen shot, it looks like something is amiss, I'll look into it.. :eek:
