Sorry to be blunt but your altering the wrong file.
Use the files i posted you will see what I mean.

I understand you, LISTEN: It does NOT work for me in EITHER window. Mainhud _Inventory.xml OR inventory_inventory.xml

BOTH show the default IN GAME. I do not know what I am doing wrong.

The pics I posted above ARE EQ2UI_INVENTORY_INVENTORY.XML

When I mentioned my mainhud_inventory, i was just refering to what I was trying.

I downloaded YOUR POSTED file and placed it DIRECTLY in my custom mod folder overwriting my custom file (eq2ui.inventory.inventory.xml) and put YOUR custom .dds file in MY custom folders image directory. I got the results I posted ABOVE! Default images not yours.

There is no way of determining a ETA. We are building the graphics from ground up. Draco is coding all the .xml and hes doing it alone so he can only do so much at a time. Best thing I can tell you is just keep watching and hope we can get this done soon. Furthermore I can say this I have all the graphics done. Draco is taking his time to get the frames right so there aren't too many bugs at release.

Draco = Code and Functionality.
Angelbrat = is doing the custom load screens.
Bane = All the graphics.
Bane and Angelbrat , Custom Music.

OK status is :
Draco = Busy but still a ton to do by my estimate 10% done.
Angelbrat = Occasionaly working, 15-20% done.
Bane = 85-90 % done Graphics.

Custom Music = Done 100% Need someplace to hoste these 130MB
These files are taken from EQ1 , EQ2, Lineage 2, Nox Arcana ( Band)
And one neat song I'll let you guys try to guess its origin.
I will try to get these uploaded to Filefront as soon as I can.

Yeah, their is no way of estimating when we will have the beta, I have to make every window customized by myself, the first window I did is the inventory, but I still have some problems, might be a bug, but I don't know. I'm still testing my options. Some of the things don't work properly such as the backpack on the left top corner of the titleframe(its not showing up), and the icon frames around the equip_back icons are not working properly. It would be a pleasure if we could get some help, Once I figure out this inventory everything else is will be easier from there.

That's not really true.

My ReVERT theme for fetish has a modified equip_back.dds ... Its also like 6months old. Used the default fetish inventory file. Worked just fine.

Well I still can not get a custom equip_back.dds to show ingame. I did however notice, that when I equip a 2 handed item, I DO see the custom background faintly behind the ghosted 2nd weapon slot. If I unequip item, the background goes back to SOE default.

I really want to get my custom equip_back to work when items are NOT equiped.

RE Custom equip backgrounds:

The file reference is hardcoded (as in the art must be in images/equip_back.dds)

The file itself can be edited to insert any custom images you want.

Not possitive but I think the icon effects file is also hardcoded in the same way
icon_transp1.dds.
Controls borders, highlights, etc on interactive icons.

I'll reinstall WoW and hit their servers for a full update and upload the WoW UI for you Drago, will be a day or so. I have to find my discs, hehe.

Any updates on this? I'd be willing to try to help do something, (though I only did basic eq1 ui stuff but i maintained bits and pieces for my own custom).

EQ2 graphics/framerates make me cry compared to WoW but having the UI somewhat similar would make me feel more at home.

I stumbled onto this post looking around for references as I try to make my group windows look like the WoW ones. I'll know how they turn out when I get home to test the code/images i threw together. (Basicly took another group mod and changed the graphics and moved objects around).
I have no idea if it will even work yet!

Well I have some problems, doing it by myself, for 1 I'm not the best cookie at photoshop(cs2), i have it but i'm not the best, and I can't really figure out how to see the default wowui its kinda confusing but im getting to it

What exactly is it that you need? I have access to ALL the UI graphics for WoW. ;) I've looked around at the EQ2 interface files and they are so insane it makes my brain hurt.

I am a avid user of Photoshop, never used .dds files though.. Let me know.
