I got the bottom left chat window open, but I have no tabs in either chat.

When you replace your existing eq2 ui settings INI file with the one posted, it resets your tabs, chat channels, etc.... so you'll have to re-make them all again.

Itanius 03-04-2005 04:54 PM

Well I got mine tweaked up and here it is:

Thanks again TyJae, Perdition, and everyone else that contributed to this great UI setup. :D

Khandor 03-04-2005 08:27 PM

Heh, well I deleted all the old folders and such and just did a fresh install with the UI, and it works perfectly fine now. :b The Journal problem seemed to have fixed itself with a simple restart of EQ2.

I did play with the bars and they should stay where they are. Though I still think that they should be the larger, thicker bars than the smaller, thinner ones. :p

Wow that rocks Mackgee! Please email me the update at [email protected] thanks!

Also what happens if no pet? just black? Wondering on alt chars...

Don't have my size?

Am I the only one using 1024 x 768?

I tried both of the sizes but the windows will not fit horizontally. For example, on the top, everything fits until the chat screen that will barely fit on the side if I make the window very small horizontally. Anyone know what I should do about this? I'm really interested in this mod.

aye you are, heh that is such a small res. these are made for 1280x1024 or 1600x1200 only. YOu will have to get the oringal version for 1024x768.

As I said that is release 4.. I'll do the same here this weekend for release 5, and then post it. and yes if you don't have a pet it's all black and says "No Pet"

Kudav 03-05-2005 12:31 AM

Is there anyway to change my resolution... I was never given the option :(

I don't know much about computers, but is there any specific reason that they ONLY let me choose 1024 x 768? I wanted to see different resolutions, but I can't =/ is it my monitor or what?

taco-man 03-05-2005 12:41 AM

it could be your monitor, or your video card.

Kudav 03-05-2005 02:07 AM

Thanks for the info. Looks like it is my video card... just played around with some setting and my screen resolution is maxed at 1024 x 768. I downloaded the latest drivers on my card, and now it has a section when I right click the icon on the toolbar that has resolution, the max is also 1024 x 768.

So, my options are basically stay with 1024 x 768 or shell out money for a new card?

taco-man 03-05-2005 02:28 AM

yep, what card do you have anyway?

Kudav 03-05-2005 02:43 AM

NVidia Gefore FX 5200 Ultra

Got it for FFXI, and luckily it still worked for EQ2. Too bad it has low resolution though =/... How small does stuff appear for you all with such high resolution anyway? I mean, for me everything appears decent sized... *imagines all the pixels packed tighter*

I guess I won't be able to use this UI :( I really wanted too. After looking over it, I can't imagine anyway to have it fit into 1024 x 768 without taking pieces off, stacking, or making it look ugly. It was a really good UI though, I definitely would have liked to use it alot. I don't like the original version as much because only the top is like it, and the bottom is not. I like my stuff to match.

Damn I'm not able to make the norrath time working, could you please post your groupmember xml file ?

If you update your pet bar and you are ok I will include it in the package :)

You maximum resolution capabilities are more likely to be restricted by your monitor, and not your video card. What type of monitor do you have?

Just duplicate your Earth Time and rename the DynamicData:

/GameData.General.Time

That's it.. I deleted the Guild status, but after was thinking it might be good to locate it under the AC and ATK on theplayer window..

Qwagmire 03-05-2005 11:55 AM

Dumb question I think.

I like lots of open space, so I have my entire top of the screen fade out unless I mouse over them.

This works great, except the chat area in the upper right, it is opposite what it should be. If I set the NORMAL slider to off, and mouseover to full power, the window reacts exactly opposite.

It should be off until I mouseover it, but its remains on and when I mouseover it disappears!

Is this reversed for a reason? I'm not asking to have it fixed, Im just curious. :)

perdition 03-05-2005 12:19 PM

Do you have your letter box enabled ?

I noticed that the opacity settings on that window are backwards as well. ;)

I'm not sure how to tell, but on my monitor it says "HP Pavilion f50". I can't find anywhere that has more information about my monitor on my computer. You'd think it would be on Control Panel or something.

Madhog 03-06-2005 06:01 AM

some suggestions...

I love this UI, thank you!

Not sure if these are possible, but I have a couple of requests / suggestions.

I love the ability to turn off the Tradeskill Exp part, would it be possible to do that same with the next portion up which has the coins on it and the one next to it with stats on? I've never understood why people need to see their basic char stats Plus it would free up more screen space. Basically the entire region with the stats in at the top, and the 2 parts of that day night thing too. Not sure I understand the point of that either, but it has half a stud on so it kinda needs to stay there *giggle*.

If there was a way to compress the entire bottom region by about 25% that would be great too. I know most people I've recommended this UI too have said it just takes up too much screen space.

Oh and finally, the range slot in the mini inv thing at the top, an activable slot would be more useful heh.

I realise this is probably asking a lot, ie basically making a Lite version, but I think you'd get even more downloads cos it is a lovely job already, a lite version would appeal to people who like more screen space.

Thank you once again for a great UI.

krytical 03-06-2005 08:21 AM

hi im new to this forum and i love this ui.. but i cant get the windows placed correctly... so can somone tell me what i have to do/download/edit/install to get my ui to look exactally like this http://www.eq2interface.com/forums/a...achmentid=1647

Love your work, but have a question. I prefer V4A over the changes in V5 (mainly the changes to the player health/power bars), with one exception. I like having the Tradeskill exp NOT show in the Experience window. I tried just copying the experience.xml file to my UI folder, but that results in a big white box with the exp info in it. Any suggestions/directions would be greatly appreciated.

I made some modifications to my setup, here's a shot of it:

I too have made a few modifications. I tried to make the bottom more compact, and now I've hit a road block. I was hoping that someone could help me out. I've gotten the hang of UIBuilder, but am still a rookie when it comes to any kind of dds work.

What I would like to do on my modification is add a horizontal black line above the Earth Time where you can see the grey background. All the other windows have black lines on top, but I can't find a way to add one to the small space that is grey. I would also like to do the same for right above the top of the hotkeys if possible. Once I finish this I'll make it available for download, and I plan on offering two target windows, because not everybody has a summoning class like me.

Any suggestions to the blank area below the power bar are appreciated. I have no idea what to put here.

The screen shot is at 1280x1024, but it should work at 1600x1200 as well. There is now room for 3 1/2 windows of hotkeys at 1280x1024, and at 1600x1200 you can get even more, or have more room for chat windows. I also touched up the "old" and "new" con system, so now they both work well.

Also the plan I have for the target bar for non-summoning classes is to get rid of the pet info of course, and make the free space the area where the maintained/effect windows will sit.

Attached here are the two windows that need the horizontal lines, as well as the screenshot. I thank whoever can help in advance..

Itanius ? Post the UI, like the flat versjon you made :)

Hello ,
If you read carefully the V5A description, you will see that you can disabled the Tradeskill exp just by disabling "Frame" in the Experience window option.

It's writing in the installation guide.

you just have to disable frame to disable tradeskill exp.

to do so :
Right click on experience window.
Select windows settings.
Select no frame.
That's it :)

Kosmos 03-08-2005 09:01 AM

I'm more of the minimalist type when it comes to UI's so I would never use a UI that takes up this much space, BUT! that being said...

I can sure appreciate art when I see it, and this skin looks FANTASTIC!

Very, Very impressive!
I can see why it's so popular!

Madhog 03-08-2005 11:05 AM

Nice job again Perdy!

I love the maintained bar there, tho, if you removed that entire area with the resists, stats, weight and coin in, and corresponding bit of the day/night thing (which I still dont get btw...), this UI would get a massive hit on downloads!

Ive personally moved my power bar back over to where my name bit is, so its power bar, my name then health bar, having them so far apart seems strange.

If you can give us that space at the top back, plus saved me around 1 to 2 cm on the bottom, Ill willingly have your babies :nana:

Amush 03-08-2005 01:07 PM

Problem

Hi, i have a problem. I installed everything and all shows up great. In the power(blue), health(green) bar, there is only 100% showing and not the bars like in your screenies. Also in the target there is only a blue bar and no green one. I hope you know what i mean.

Sorry for my bad english.

Amush

Hope i'm right here?
