3) Hard Drive (7200+ RPM with EQ2 running on a partition no larger than 80gig defragged regularly) Its best to have EQ2 installed on a seperate physical drive than your OS.

Odd you should say that, I tried this a few times, and the result is that when I run EQ2 on a drive other than my OS, only the world shows up....no characters, NPC's, furnishings, etc. Any idea what could cause that?

and for post's sake I play 1280 x 1024 (100 Hz)
Celeron 1.8 GHz
1 GB RAM
GeForce 6200 256MB
WinXP on a 40 Gig HDD (4096 VRAM)
Extra HDD 80 Gig (4096 VRAM)
High Performance in game

I can go higher and have tried higher res- but this one just seems to work best for me.

zxcshadow 06-22-2006 02:12 PM

1920x1200 is the only setting I will play on.

1280x1024 works good for me.

I use 2560x1600. I'm the lucky owner of a kick butt system I recently built myself. The display I got with it is the Dell 30 inch lcd. Let's see you support that resolution! :p

edit: On my laptop I use 1920x1200...

Nygas 11-27-2006 01:51 AM

I use 1680 x 1050. I am looking at switching to Extreme, but there isn't a resolution for it. I know that I could just drag the windows around, but how do I change the uisettings file to support this resolution natively?

BTW, the file looks mostly like garbage to me.

Not sure what you mean by "support this resolution natively". Once you place the windows where you want them, the game will update you uisettings file and they will ( ok should ) remain there until you change them again.

I don't have pre-made uisetting higher then 1600xXXXX because my current monitor flips out if I try to push it higher.

No excuse, I've got 1900x1200 that I configured on a 1280x1024 screen (windowed mode, cl_screen... macros and good use of PackLocation scripting FTW :D).

Good idea; but no thanks!

I've included the most common settings with the UI. Like I've said over 100 times in the eXtreme thread, I can't supply a uisetting for every resolution setting. Sometimes one has to do a something for them selves.

Arremis 11-27-2006 12:36 PM

Zonx = Brainiac. It's fun to watch you "open your mouth" and all this....STUFF....come spewing out (grabs a bucket and a dictionary size notepad to write all this stuff down) :nana: :D

Hmm, *scratches head*. Where this come from?

*looks over in left field*

Arremis 11-27-2006 01:02 PM

I think this was my Left-Fielder from yesterday when I asked the same question in the Chit-Chat forum....someone must have bumped it for me thanks! :)

gm9 11-27-2006 01:26 PM

I agree Landiin, I just got tired of the ongoing questions. Although I had user contributed settings for most resolutions those were not necessarily as shown on the screenshot on my download threads so people kept asking about it. Because of this one day I sat down to prepare them for all likely and unlikely resolutions myself and now I have my peace. :)

(although I failed to update most of the standard settings for EoF, but noone noticed, hehe)

It seems EQ2 reads the res supported by your monitor. If you use the the slandered plug-n-play one supplied by windows you only get like one or two settings. I my self just changed display (not video) drivers to one of the Sony high end monitors and I was able to pick from a large assortment of resolutions.

Sleestak 11-28-2006 11:33 AM

Hey thanks man! I'll change my display driver and see if that helps :D

WOOT, thanks. that did the trick, I can now play at the higher res. My monitor was indeed using the windows default driver :)

Can you explain how to find the high end Sony monitor drivers and how I can replace mine? I'm having the same problems with limited choices to choose from for my monitor.

Thanks

also 1048 x 768 :(

Right click on your desktop;

Properties->Settings->Advanced->Monitor->Properties->Drivers->Update Drivers-> (Dot install from a list or spacific location)->next-> (Dot Don't search. I will chosse the driver to install)->Next-> (UnCheck Show compatible hardware if checked)

Pick ViewSonic from the list on the left and ViewSonic 21PS from the list on the right. (thats what I used) then press Next->Fineshed->Close->Ok->Ok.

You may or may not have to restart :P

1280 x 1024, but I would prefer 1360 x 1024.

Only problem is, I share this computer and my daughter uses it to play WoW. I've found that I get the best all round performance in both games if I use this resolution. :(

istennohanga0 01-22-2007 04:43 PM

My resolution is 1280x768

gm9 02-12-2007 05:16 PM

After I finally upgraded my system, I'm raiding in 2560x1024 in Extreme Quality mode. :D
