Hey man still loving the ui. only thing i found a problem with so far is if you try to not install the map grid it makes the map all black.

That sounds like a "Didn't completely uninstall the old manual install first" issue ;)
I just went through the custom installer using almost all variances and couldn't replicate the issue.

Were you sure to uninstall completely first?
If you were using the manual install (You have to delete the entire ThorUI folder)
If you were using the auto install (You have to uninstall via the start menu folder icon of control panel)

Basically I've made so many enhancements that you can't just overwrite the directory anymore. (Another reason I went to the installer. Now you have the option to just uninstall the ThorUI set and retain your map downloads for the next ThorUI update)

Let me know if I missed something.

It is totally awesome. :) As a new player to EQ2 I stumbled across the EQ2 Interface website and finally got enough courage to try some of these custom UI pieces and I eventually tried a couple of complete sets before settling on your UI. Hey there! Just tried installing using the Auto installer. I had another UI installed and deleted that folder before installing. I opened EQ2 and.....nothing :( Tried doing it a second time just to see and......still nothing. What am I doing wrong????

Nevermind!!!! I got it to work. Had to change the name of the UI skin in the notepad from the old name to ThorUI. Sometimes it's the simplest little things (hehe....I am blonde!!) :D

Great mod Faetyl, just started using it some time ago.....3.5 I think, but I have a question. I want to go to the new version but am afraid I will loose my personal changes i made....like i removed some of the hot button things along the side and repositioned some of the elements. Will I loose those If I run your installer? Or will it keep my settings and give me just the updated files you made? One other thing, In the process, the chat window was lost with all of the tabs (now its just the standard chat windows)and would like to know how to get it back in the format you had wihtout redoing everything, but typically run with 2 chat windows open to easily see stuff I need at the same time.

I'm very happy to hear you like the mod!
I setup the UI to not affect window placement files at all.
Therefore, if you run the uninstaller and then install the latest version you won't lose your hard work of setting up your window placements and chat preferences. ;)
As for setting up your chat tabs...
Basically just right click the chat area and choose "New Chat Tab" you will then select that tab by clicking on it the right click again but this time choose "Chat Options". You will then select what options you want from there...
It's a pain getting it all setup but the good news is my mod won't effect it at all so your safe from now on. :D (I would make a backup just in case though...) ;)

I am also having a similar issue. However, it only appears to be the group window.

The window (frame) expands/shrinks when people join/leave like I assume you intended on it doing, but the black background stays at the full length. I'm not currently in game, and don't have a screenshot readily available to post, but will do so as soon as i can.

And to answer your "confirmation" questions:

1. Yes, I am currently using v3.9
2. Yes, I have deleted any previous installs
3. Yes, I installed to the correct directory
4. I loaded the Caster package
5. Only the group window as far as I can tell

As for the group window, I think i've modified the group window to not show a background opacity image for the "full group window" but show the background for the individual member boxes...

If you get a chance test this puppy out for me. (See attachment) "Backup your current first just in case" :)

Ger is the real hero for this excellent Group Window mod by the way.
All I did way see the excellent work and include it in the ThorUI as default.

I do plan on possibly modding the group window to include group member health percentages since Sony has a fix for it in the next big update.
It may make the group window a bit larger though.
Any feedback on group window including health and power percentages but increasing in size?

Yep, the mods themselves don't create any requirements as to screen resolution except for possibly not supporting lower res screens such as 1024x768 "If a window in the mod is to big...". Simply put if the mod supports that res it will support all higher than that.
Just note you will need to use the "window placements" file for your resolution and if there isn't one for your resolution you would need to create this your self by basically rearranging your windows. Using a window placement file is completely optional though. ;)

I can tell you right now, that I don't have a window placement file for that resolution but would be more than happy to post yours for others to use. :D

Yep, thats an error on Sonys part which I removed completely since it wasn't required, to keep from getting the UI error.
Sony is fixing it with LU12 and it's becoming required hence my reincluding it in the eq2_mainhud.xml :)

Basically they incorrectly named the eq2ui_ArenaChampions_ArenaScore.xml file as eq2ui_ArenaChampions_Score.xml (which is being resolved with LU12)
I had to add it back or else everyone using the ThorUI (and other mods without the eq2ui_ArenaChampions_ArenaScore.xml reference) will crash at login after the update and we wouldn't want that to happen. :)

Huge problem... Chat Windows disappering every time i camp!
 

Hi there,

I absolutely LOVE the ThorUI but I have a serious problem!

Every time i camp and reload EQ2 the predefined chat windows all disappear and i can´t get them back :confused:

I am using the predefined 1280*1024 config file from the beginning of the thread...

Anyone experiencing the same problem? I don´t know what to do...
I have to re-setup the config file every single time i run the game :(

Sounds like my window placements file may be corrupt again.
When the chat doesn't show up, just press enter and it "should" bring it right back with all the previous settings.

I'll try and redo the window placement file and reupload soon.
I have a few more changes coming that will be changing some windows such as no notes and harvest external windows. (Going to be in the Quest Journal or help window).

When i use your UI I seem to have some problems to save settings? when i make a new chat window, or try to name my bags, everytime i exit the game and are gonna to play again the name on the bags are back to normal and the chat window i created is gone.
Anyone know why?

Sounds like the infamous corrupt eq2_uisettings.ini
If memory serves, this is a known Sony issue and the best way to resolve it is by downloading this replacement.

Lost Window
 

Have lost the window with eq2 button, volume controls, bags, night goggles, auto follow etc , now sure how i did it, but all my other toons still have window, just one toon doesnt. How do i get it back? what is the magic trick, lol HELP

7/20 EQ2 update causing crashes
 

Well the new EQ2 update crashes when entering the charactor into its zone. do you have a new update for this?

I prepared for this some time ago actually and the update has been available for over a week now. :)

Just ensure you're running v4.0

Still Blacked out Xp Bars
 

Applied the Link as instructed and still blacked out. I am pretty sure its not the UI pieces as much as its a some other thing in the UI..

Meaning I am sure its not your UI piece i am using thats having the problem as much as its EQs command somewhere i am not connecting to.. I had this problem once before but fixed it somehow and i dont know how i did it ROFL.

Any other ideas?

My next thought is that "I hate to say it" but perhaps another mod that you are using changed some of the default UI items that the Experience Bar expercts to find/calls to...

If possible zip up your custom UI folder and send it to me along with a screenshot just in case.
I'm on Yahoo and MSN messenger if they are large or you can email or private message me with the attachment if it's small under 1meg.

Update: Issue was due to another mod including a framestyle file.
Once that file was removed all issues went with it. :)

I play on the european servers, so we get the update in some few hours now, i just want to know, if the 4.0 version works with the new update?

I have yet to see anyone that is using ThorUI v4.0 with an issue relating to LU12 (or any open issue for that matter) :)

Please correct me if i'm wrong.

Hey Not sure if this is the place to post this or not.. I love your UI, U did a great job on it but i hav a Question. what is the option in your Inventory View "Show Dock" what is dock what dose it do...

also i am having a Problem as when i right click on any of my windows to get the Options all i get is a Black Streak no Options. any ideas? yes this is the new 4.0. then after a few min EQ2 gets error and crashes

I did use your uninstall from Menu to make sure i uninstalled it all, is there somethign else some where i should of uninstaled also.

ok i found out u have to delete the ThorUI folder under UI then it works great for me again, after i reinstall.

still want to know what show dock option is though :)

Video Preset Problems
 

I followed the instructions and set the first preset just fine.

Then repeated the process for presets 2 and 3.

Now the buttons for presets 2 and 3 have dissapeared and I can not use them.

Any clue as to what I may have done wrong?

The inventory window is a mod originally done by the master, Fetish aka Zonx

The "show dock" button allows you to place a window (the dock) to a specific loaction so that when you click on the dock button on the inventory it will shrink the inventory window and pop over to that location.

First i've heard of this.
I'll have to look at it closer when I get home (at work now)

Update:
Good news, I figured out what's wrong.
Bad news, the executable "which can't be edited by me" places the buttons in their original location "off screen" when you update them.
You can place them back to the correct location by editing with notepad and changing (Location="4,21" to Location="16,1") in custompreset2 and (Location="4,35" to Location="31,1") in custompreset3
I'll look into what I can do to resolve this issue.
One option is to remove them entirely i suppose...
The other is to see if I can hack the exe... (This one sounds like more geek fun)
I'll udate you here...

Update to the Update: "Hey we're dealing with Sony here, i can get away with it as well" ;)
Custompreset exe hacked to accomodate the positioning of my mod.
I'll be sure it's included in the next patch v4.1 ;)

That issue would be caused by using the old manual zip install then overwriting with the new auto install.
You're absolutely correct, deleting the ThorUI folder and reinstalling will fix this issue for any others that may run into it.

The Dock is for when you "dock" your inventory window.
You can place the dock window somewhere on your screen and when you "dock" the inventory window it will shrink it and move it over to that position.

Maybe it is just me, or something changed during the update..
I use to be able, when the Hotbar windows were locked, swap around abilities. Did they change this, a UI bug, or has it always been like this and I am whacky?

Then again it is 4:30am.. time to get some sleep...

PS: I heart this UI a tons, keep it up sir! I've gotten about 6+ friends to start using it in the last week alone :)

I think that is a new thing, that was with the patch.

Now with the patch I keep freezing and crashing when using arrow keys walking/running. Tech support says it is probably the custom UI causing this as they had major changes to the UI - I like ur UI and wondering how soon an udpate will be coming - others already have theirs out - thanks :(

I understand your frustration but I highly doubt the ThorUI is the cause...
No one else has reported this issue, and as for an update for the LU12 patch; the ThorUI was ready and available a week prior to launch.

Therefore i have to ask that you follow the instructions on posting issues and provide the following please:
#1.) Post problems here. (Not only does it make sure I will see the problem so I can help, but it also creates a post in one central location that may assist others that have the same issue.)
#2.) If you have difficulty with the ThorUI, make sure you have the latest version. If you don't, completely uninstall your current version and upgrade to the latest and verify the problem still exists.
#3.) Tell me what version you are using in your issue post. This helps me confirm #2
#4.) Try and be as detailed as possible. I don't expect you to waste to much time but the more info you give me the easier it is for me to help you. "I think"

Have you uninstalled then deleted the ThorUI and then reinstalled yet?
Have you tried without the ThorUI yet?

Cool a new version is out, i wonder how do i update?
Can i just uninstall ThorUI from "Start>Programs" or do i also need to delete the folder that is in the UI directory to?



Edit: For the first, I'am using Firefox as a browser, and when i uninstall and install ThorUI its opening 3 windows, 2 windows that there is nothing happening with and the 3 one that goes to the download site i think it was.
Second the window with my health, power seems to be a little bit cutted off, because you can see that the underpart of the numbers to my power is a little cutted off, hard to explain, but i liked how the health and power was in 4.0 better...

Edit2: I alos like this UI very well, it was the first UI to eq2 i've ever tried, so hope you can take a look into what i've said... its not a big thing but its a kind of irretating to not see the power as good as in the 4.0 release..
