I figured it out! The dividers slide up on the bar depending on the spacing you select. My brigand has a higher number than my other chars. At 3, its almost perfectly aligned. At 5 its the 3/4, and at 7, its half.

I'll have to look at that. Thanks for letting me know. Item Spacing is not supposed to affect vertical spacing at all so that's a bug.

I posted a patch to the updater today that fixes this issue.

I think I'm having this same issue. When I pull up the config, everything is unchecked. I try to check the stuff I want, click update, and nothing changes. I can't figure out how to modify what's shown. Any ideas for me?

Also, a general question, when I make a change to UI files, do I need to camp to desktop to activate them, or can I just camp to myself?

You need to go into the Updater and reset all settings to default. I'm not sure what went wrong, but this was the only way I could clear it up. Cleared up a couple of other issues at the same time.

Rather than camp out to bring up new settings, I load the default UI, then re-load Profit. Otherwise, I think you have to camp to desktop to force an update because the UI settings are read only when the client starts up.

The only files I'm ignoring have nothing to do with this. Quickraidbuttons (because I made some modifications) and eq2ui_custom.xml (because I also use the dragowulf UI mod). I did update the custom file and added the dragowulf line back in. Still no luck.

It doesn't seem to have anything to do with ignored files. I had an issue with bad formatting of the bottom bar, and the problem with the config window. Nothing I did with any file had any effect. Resetting Profit to defaults fixed both issues. I still don't know what had gone wrong.

If you're not talking about ignored files, then I don't understand. How do you reset profit back to default settings?

Therendil 04-26-2011 12:44 AM

From the Updater main window, choose Settings -> Updater -> Reset all Settings. You'll get a confirmation dialog. Once you confirm your choice, everything will be reset and you'll be prompted to restart the Updater.

You will need to re-select any file variants since they will all be at default after the reset.

Strictly speaking, this resets the Updater rather than the UI itself. However this is what I did to banish the ghosts and it worked.

Thank you. finally got my Bottom bar to let me customize. The Reset all Settings worked.

For others having trouble, I had the issue where the customizer wouldn't pre-check anything, and anything I checked wouldn't update.

I deleted my entire profit folder, re-ran the updater, nothing, then reset all settings, and that worked. (incidentally, it also fixed my XP window, I had lost my HP, Power, and Concentration bars)

Thanks to everyone on this thread for the help, and thanks fro making a great UI

Glad to hear it worked for you!

ProfiUI is a pretty complicated piece of software, and so is the updater. A lot of us have been using it for a long time, and so our local versions have been updated dozens or even hundreds of times. Given that, I am not at all surprised that weird errors may crop up, nor that they go away if you clear the settings table and start fresh.

Welp, game is back up so I can officially report that resetting updater worked for me. Thanks therendil.

Therendil 05-17-2011 12:38 AM

Had to wait a bit for that, but I'm glad it worked. :)
